This may be because I'm from the UK but I'm really starting to find all this stuff about AT&T and verizon a little boring now. Can we have some real mac/apple news please?

Perhaps you's like them to make some up?

Do you really think vz won't get iPhone 5 at launch? Why?

They will. iPhone 5 will look like the ViPhone. It may be slightly thicker, perhaps a tapered design to accommodate the Dual Band Receiver.

at&t, Verizon,........, and .......... will all be able to use the same shell.

Rack up another several billion in production design profits. :apple:

I hear there are still a couple of Kin's on eBay.

The Kin returned. Hadn't you heard? It's called the KinM, now.

I like how all of you have completely ignored other people. What about those that will leave Sprint or Tmob to go to Verizon? Where's our thread?!

I cant believe so many people are eager to lock into a 2 year contract and pay what I consider ridiculously high monthly fees for a phone.

I can already feel my bandwidth throttling wide open once you resource-sucking lemmings get off my network.

Dude, I'm not going to lie, but this comment really made me laugh :D and I applaud you for this:

btw, I totally agree with what you said

Does anybody recall the numbers how many percent of the smartphone users on AT&T are using the iPhone ?

I just read that 38% of AT&T's 95 million users have smartphones = 36 million.

Of those, about 12 million use iPhones, which is 1/3.

So the prediction of "only" 1/4 VZW smartphone users eventually getting an iPhone seems reasonable.

Verizon now has excellent smartphones to choose from, and they're about to release their first LTE models. A lot could depend on LTE plan prices.

thanks - so 1/4 really doesn't sound so unrealistic. AT&T had the advantage of having the iPhone before any other (new generation) smart phone became a hit (or available) ... and I'm not sure how good or bad the smart phone selection at AT&T is - but the 1/4 on VZW compared to 1/3 AT&T doesn't sound too far off. Guess we will now in one year from now (or less)
