I really don't get how anyone can believe that a device with an LCD or OLED screen can hope to redefine the e-reader market.

What e-Reader is on the market that also connects directly to the iTunes store, plays movies, music, streams television, allows you to browse the internet and has 100,000+ applications available for it for direct download?

Exactly.

Not another contract

Cable TV -- $100+ a month. Internet $59 a month. Two iPhone 3Gs' and two year contracts with monthly costs well over $100 a month. I just can't see having another contract even at $35 a month for 3G connectivity on a Tablet. One of the attractive things for me with the Kindle is the free wireless connectivity to download books, etc. It even has free internet access, though very limited. If they include both 3G and Wifi on the tablet, I'll be a little more interested. I'm hoping the $1,000 price tag is more rumor than truth. That's too steep.

For me to buy this it would have:
1. To be cheaper
2. Tether with my iPhone for no added cost.

For $1000 I would just buy a MB.

Bingo

I remember a report from some guy who said the estimated price was much lower than he thought it should be.

I really see these 10" tablet starting at 32gb 599, 64 699 128gb 899

And the tethering idea to the iphone is a must, this thing will have to come some kind of internet connection like the kindle has, but will need to be faster than that to sell. This could really help incite a rebirth in magazine+newspaper sales, or at least continue what the less than what i'd call successful kindle and ebook readers have.

Plus, i'd love to play the iphone games on larger screens. Think what all game developers could do with a 10" portable screen. Starcraft and other old school games with touch controls, tilt steering racing games, etc etc

Danish Police & Tablets

In this article you find this hint:
The force is yet to turn to mobile policing, but has plans to do so in the future. “They will have [mobile devices], but this system is so new,” that it hasn’t happened yet, Højgaard said, saying the force had its eye on tablet computers.

As apple posted a link to this article in their news - I guess they are starting guerilla marketing it in between

That was flat out awesome. It looks as though Steve Jobs sure isn't the only one that sees what is coming. I liked that. I'm dying to see what Apple has in mind. I sure wouldn't bet against them.

Any update on the 2 size of screen rumor of a higher priced OLED, and a lower priced (presumably Pixel Qi) LCD screen?
