And we could have said the same thing before computers/laptops, cell phones, mp3 players, tablets, smart tvs, etc. As technology advances there will always be something new to buy...

You're going to condemn the concept because of the information you read from one highly speculative article?

You must be new to the world of home automation. Come on in, leave your wallet right there and on the counter.

I don't see the point in it.

Until it is released and we actually know what it will do I don't see the point in the iWatch at all as I can get the time from my phone. I personally don't like wearing a watch so I'm probably not the intended target for one of these in all fairness. In fact it would have to do something pretty remarkable for me to want one.

I'll make you a deal: you get me a job at Apple and i'll be the happiest guy on this forum. There's no question that I am eminently qualified to work there; the only question is, who's going to be the one to refer me to a recruiter and get me in the door? You? Or somebody else?

Haha no question at all! A top notch designer and PR guru in one person!

Apple better hurry up to hire you before Steve Ballmer or "Full of Schmidt" snatch you!

I think that i have found where these analysts have been getting their rumours from....

Apparently the results can vary greatly but usually work more accurately when thrown against a wall.

"Ives" LOL I guess we can ignore anything you say, you don't even know the names of the people I'm talking about!

What I am proposing is baller and badass. More importantly, it's a legitimate bold alternative to the understated white and black choices Apple already offered. There's no need for three equally muted, boring colors. They should have made bright gold, bright red, bright green, anything that would appeal to the more color-savvy users, of which there are many. And don't tell me to buy a gimped 5c, I want the same phone options as the boring-color people, thank you very much.

I didn't say Apple is messed up. Did you even READ the message you quoted?

Maybe you're the troll???
Buy yourself a gold case and leave us alone.

On second thought please post your design accomplishments, so Forstall can see your work.

Real men only wear a waterproof watch  (read: real men cant avoid getting water on the watch during the day).

The more I read these kind of comments....the more I love my dog

I don't have to read such comments to love my dogs even more... Given the choice between my dogs and the human race, the human race will always be SOL.

Back on topic:

I think Apple is going to be the first company ever to win TWO vaporware of the century awards. One for the iWatch, the other one for the iTV (or AppleTV or whatever the rumor mill calls it this year).

But you never know, even Duke Nukem Forever eventually turned into a real product. Maybe in ten years or so from now, the iWatch and the iTV will also see the light of day. Or maybe not. Ultimately, it doesn't matter at all - both are essentially unnecessary and redundant products anyway. Redundant in the meaning that other companies have already been shipping such things for years by the time that Apple puts something on the market. Unnecessary because, well, nobody needs a watch to turn on the light in your living room or that serves as a companion for your smartphone. And the big question is what an iTV is supposed to do for you that your PC or Mac and your SmartTV from Samsung or Toshiba and/or your PlayStation or Xbox haven't been doing for you for the last years already.

The iWatch and iTV rumors have entered Shakespearean dimensions: MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING.

iWatch = Gimmick & Pointless

No one need a watch when you can just look at your iPhone for the time

I'll tell you what I'll get you a job at Apple and you promise to leave this forum no questions asked, just supply me with your details and I'll pass it on to Sir Jony from his biggest fan and resident know-all:cool:

is it just me or do "Analysts" just write down 1000 things it "might have" then pat themselves on the back and say "See, See, I TOLD YOU !! I PREDICTED THIS!!" when 2 of them make it into the final product ?

Its easy to be an analyst, look

after careful consideration i predict the iWatch Will

Make Toast,
Order takeaway based on bio-metric readings of the wearer so you never have to decide what to have again
Tell the Time
Allow the wearer to pilot the mega zoid !

I get to say i predicted the iWatch features after it launches if one of those are right :D

Apple please don't make an I watch it is not going to work!

Please all we want now is haswell macs, new iPads and an iphone with two size choices! This is not a safe bet its what a company that is making the best products they want to own themselves would be making!

There is too much marketing delay, ie no haswell macs to sell airs and inventory.

I personally want to see a Mac Pro with retina but a thicker body to get a full magnetic drive in there and a huge battery that with haswell could last for 12 hours. Also at the non-retina price point now that would sell me as a pro user. Apple seem to be aiming for volume with all these new products and as such they are actually failing because they aren't making the thing the target would actually need.

I've been wrong before but this just sounds like functionality that could be handled by an iPhone using Bluetooth 4.0 or WiFi.

I just don't see the point. Do young people who like gadgets wear watches now? I'm 25 but I don't and I've not worn a watch for a decade. I have a phone for all the functions my watch used to do and I can't see a single feature a watch could gain that my iPhone can't already perform.

I think they should take their time with the iWatch, if indeed they're making one, don't rush like Samsung did, make sure they get it right and get as much battery life as possible, solar powered maybe if that's possible, don't know if it is but would be cool.

It'd also be great if it could stream to my :apple:TV, from my Macs and locate my iPad when I can't find it (my kids always misplace it) and has been mentioned before assist in measuring blood pressure, heart rate etc.. the possibilities:)

I haven't worn a watch for about the same too but don't look at it like it's only a watch, I think the reason they hired a designer for YSL (I think!!) was to make it look good, so you won't look like a dork, for this reason I would consider wearing one again.

IMO either Apple is going to give us something that is wearable around the wrist that will be a game changer, something we can't even really imagine right now.

Either that or it's huge misdirection and a decoy for something else.

Please give me a break....

Apple under Tim Cook cannot even roll out a map application/service properly, and considers slapping golden color paint and plastic color cases on its products, or changing the casing from silver rectangular shaped boxes into rounded black cases, as innovation.

And the article is claiming that Apple is planning on releasing an iWatch in 2014?

Come on. It took Tim Cook's Apple almost 1-2 years to change the colors on the phone.

What makes you think Apple is capable of releasing a new product category?

Apple's Board of Directors needs to wake up FAST and find a proper replacement for Jobs.

Tim Cook just isn't working out as CEO of Apple. The fit is simply not there, not even close.

Stopped reading at "analyst."

"Analyst" is just a euphemism for a really bad guesser.

Exactly, i'm not an analyst but my guess for Apple selling 7.5-8 Million on weekend was way better than analyst's 5-6 Million and i have zero knowledge of whatever they study :). They are just a joke.

I'm still not interested in the idea of a watch (although I'm sure if Apple does release it, then I'll want it all of a sudden) but I'm not so sure about it. I've never been a fan of watches or wearables of any kind.
