As there should be wireless charging of other devices then there is possibility the it can be added. That would be one of few big features besides charging, processor and cameras. There can be online Siri plus many iOS 13 features but they are not exclusive to new HW.

There is not many phones with stylus support. And who knows new iPhones can now or next year support for being remote display and tablet for Mac as iPads will be.

And lastly, pencil probably won't be altered so it won't for sure be able to put into new phones as is in Note. It will be more for home or field use.

Steve Jobs is rolling over in his grave. I love this company and its products, but lately..... It's a company nearing its peak, or simply a bit past it.

Which Apple Pencil though? There is no way to charge the second gen Apple Pencil without the latest iPad Pro, and it would be silly if the newest, latest iPhone was only compatible with the older Apple Pencil. Equally crazy to have a new Apple Pencil just for the phone
USB-C instead of Lightning on the 2019 iPhones then.

I though Jobs hated styli of any kind. This goes against Apples core principles.

Jobs never said that. Jobs made numerous quotes about using a stylus. It’s obvious looking at all his quotes he’s referring to requiring a stylus to operate a device (like the Apple Newton).

People always cherry pick that one single Jobs quote and try to use it to infer what he meant while conveniently ignoring his other quotes.

That said, I doubt I’d use this. Even the Note from Samsung is a niche device that very few people buy. If the iPhone gets this feature added without increasing cost then great. If the iPhone price goes up to add a feature a small number of people will use them it’s a stupid idea.

I believe the official name is: "The Apple Golf Pencil" :p

Given the current Apple Pencil technology, it makes little practical sense to provide Pencil support on the iPhone. No way to charge the Pencil, no way to tote the Pencil. The Pencil itself is longer than an iPhone.

I can't see Apple itself producing a Pencil for the iPhone, but I CAN see the next iPhone supporting the same technology used by the Logitech Crayon and Adonit Note. I just picked up an Adonit Note for my wife to use with her 2018 iPad and it works great. Although I have an Apple Pencil for mine, I'm seriously considering getting a Note.

Even though something like the Adonit Note would suffer from similar issues (except size), it would fit better with an iPhone, IMO.

listen, i don't really care either way, but if they do add pencil support to the 2019 model it will be just another new feature that will give me absolutely no reason to upgrade from my xs)

Jobs is dead. Has been for a while. He didn't hate the stylus and Apple sold tons of them... even before selling their own. Not really sure what you think Apple's principles are, but adding stylus support to the iPhone doesn't go against them.

I hope not. Pencil on iPhone is stupid idea. The screen is too small.
It just goes to show, that people really have no clue what they need.

2019 iPhone supports reverse wireless charging.

Did they discover the 64bit A7 before it was announced?
No but that's because there was no reason to release a 64bit iOS beta since there were no devices to support it but over the past couple of years we've gotten an inside look to some new hardware features since they were included in the developer betas and sussed out but some developers that dug deep. FaceID comes to mind...

The creative possibilities that the Apple Pencil provides for artists and the type of stylus that Steve Jobs talked about are two very different things.
Plus since we're hearing about a potential 6.5" screen that's a huge canvas to work with. Perhaps that the only phone it would work with.

Just a money grab to supplement the lackluster iPhone sales. If the tech is already there, might as well sell more "wearables" or "add ons" or "Dongles".

I don't even use my Apple Pencil for my iPad mini. It just not hat useful in many cases. Steve was right.

Pencil support on the iPhone would make sense now that we have sidecar. Sidecar could be expanded to work between iPhone and iPad. Imagine being able to use an app like procreate and having your tools on an iPhone, giving you the full use of your iPad display.

No thanks. Even with my pudgy fingers often hitting the wrong search engine results.

unless I'm really really missing something here, I don't see spending $100 for a stylus...

You wouldn't be able to use the gen 2 pencil though as I doubt they could fit the magnetic charging and pairing apparatus in the phone chassis.

I will never understand people that object to something that they DON'T HAVE TO USE.

Steve Jobs' quote was related to the NECESSITY of a stylus and an interface designed around that necessity.

As a current Galaxy Note8 user, I can appreciate the precision a stylus offers in certain scenarios.

In my mind, this is long overdue, especially for the Plus/Max models.
