The 4S was NOT exactly a weapon of mass destruction!

You need to check the sales numbers for Android and Apple.

The numbers are not "totally meaningless":p

Well the only way to really compare sales with andriod is to either compare the iPhone with one model andriod phone (ex. sales of all iPhones vs sales of all samsung Galaxy phones) or compare the mobile OS's of android vs iOS. Either way Apple kills them. Comparing the iPhone against all other android phone is not right. iPhone is the hardware and android is the software.

Ruffle the fanboys' feathers? It's good to keep abreast of the competition don't ya think? Unless your the type that blindly follows.

...and the 4s appears to be shining!!!!!!!!

I guess, I find these threads funny but often they follow the same pattern. Soon somebody is going to say android is terrible, they need to revamp the user experience, find a better ecosystem, they stole the UI, it's ugly, and numerous other things.

Well I don't believe that. I only see positives when android is mentioned. I just think posting about a new Android phone is pointless as it will garner the same debate each time.

I agree. Typically when Android related information is posted on MacRumors, it gets a positive reaction; however, if you post something iPhone related on Android forums, it will get negative responses. Some of the cruel comments on the Android forums when Steve pass were ridiculous.

What's the point of their LTE when they have three tiered plans to choose from? 200MB you could easily go through that in a day, 2GB of data in a week, and 4GB in about 2 weeks. AT&T needs unlimited LTE and maybe they'll see a lot more people going back to them.

Hoping thy grandfather the unlimited plans

Yea the battery could be a huge issue, especially on a small LTE market and fighting for a signal. Backwards compatible, but effectively? I think the most interesting part is the supposed super amoled plus screen on 4.5", I'll be jealous if this thing lasts more than a few hours before dying.

you have to experience a 4g phone on verizon, lol ... while the download speeds ARE mindblowing .... leave out the first four and last three letters of mindblowing, add an s to the word that you get and that pretty much sums up the battery life of the verizon 4g phones ... unfortunately :(

This is great for all three cities AT&T has LTE in.

if you want to use LTE you cannot get an iphone. Verizon has LTE in 50 Markets at the moment. ATT will continue to grow their LTE presence and the competition has a head start.

Competition is good. Posting every three days that some new phone of the moment is going to derail Apple is dumb. People have been saying the same exact things for the past 4 years for every phone on the market. It's beyond old. It's embarrassing.

When will people finally get it through their thick skulls that a good product is more than the sum of its hardware specs? That an OS is a spec? That the support given the product is a spec? That the ease of use in an established ecosystem is a spec?

All these also ran phones of the day may cumulatively push Apple to keep up, and that's fine, but no single one of them so far is going to bring the iPhone to its knees, or make Apple jump. So stop fooling yourselves.

Ya, the Samsung GS II already has reports of short battery life.
Adding in LTE would probably shorten the battery life even more.

The screen size, lightweight and LTE are really nice though.

OK, the Galaxy S2 is a fine phone, but "Galaxy S2 Skyrocket" has got to be one of the stupidest names ever - it sounds ridiculous!

Agreed. Why can't they just keep it simple and call it the "Galaxy S2 LTE" if they want to distinguish it from the regular Galaxy S2?

There is a bump in battery, 1650 to 1850. Right now, my SGII gets better battery life than my 4s.

It's good to keep abreast of the competition don't ya think?

Then go to a Android centric websites where you find the up to minute information about Android phones. For the same reason I would not do to Android centric websites to find out about the latest iPhone updates.

Wow, yet another Android phone flavor of the minute. Exciting

+1, my SGSII is way better battery wise then my 4s is currently. Now, vs. my Iphone 4, thats another story.

4 was better than the SII, I'll grant ya that. I may get to cycle my 4s battery twice today, aren't I the lucky one.

I don't understand why people shamelessly buy Android phones, especially from Samsung? The made by thefts with no shame and no innovations.

That's not fair to new users. Can't stay on the unlimited plan forever though.

I'm sorry but why not. We accept a subsidized price for the phone for our LOYALTY to our carrier. Just because people carrier hop doesn't mean the people that don't should be punished. Just because there are morons who tether and download gigs and gigs of music on their iPhone doesn't mean I should lose my unlimited.

The one thing I notice on this forum is a lack of loyalty to their carrier....I have ATT U-verse, ATT cell service, and is it perfect, of course not...but it functions enough for me to not complain.

Verizon is offering unlimited LTE to grandfathered in plans, and I don't see why ATT would not. Loyalty should be rewarded, not dismissed.

ive never understood this argument. if you presently use 2 gig of data a month, you're not going to use more data with lte. you will simply get the same 2 gig you have always used faster.

Haha, I meant few positives.People on here routinely refer to androids as cheap and rip offs. And many of those people weren't fans of his while he lived, to expect them to react how many here did is crazy. Honestly reading the Steve Jobs biography makes me question buying apple products so I can see how people wouldn't be so kind. But to pretend there's mostly positive reactions to android here is crazy

When LTE gets to my town, I'll have to seriously consider this phone.

Before my iphone 4s, I was going to get the Samsung GSII.
That screen is just big and beautiful! haha

The phone itself is irrelevant to me. Who the hell names these things? How many Galaxy products does Samsung have? There's 12 "Galaxy" phones, a Galaxy "tabphone" and four Galaxy Tab tablets. Why not refine one, offer it in 3 different sizes, and leave it alone? That's ridiculous.

Because different people have different needs.

If you live in Johnson City, then a regular Galaxy S will suit you just fine for the next few years.

If you live in Atlanta or Chicago, then you might be more willing to choose a faster phone.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that iPhone 5 will probably not have LTE because LTE will not be widespread enough for Apple to justify putting LTE chips in ALL of their iPHones.

Its a disadvantage of the one-phone-to-rule-them-all approach

Actually for ATT this new version of the SII is relevant to consumers in the market because it has the beefed up 4.5 inch screen as opposed to the 4.3 inch "original SII" that they now carry

Sprint and TMOBILE got the 4.5 inch Galaxy SII up to now, but now ATT will have one as well alongside the 4.3 inch one.
