And "4S" was what? The 4 referring to the 4th generation, and the S for speed, maybe? I thought the 4th generation was the iPhone 4. That makes a lot of sense too.

Ya, agree with the post above. A largely useless phone IMO.

Actually it stands for "Skyrocket" and Apple will be using this fact to prevent Samsung bringing yet another product to market!

I don't buy knock off's or stolen goods made by shady companies so no Android or Samsung for me.

:apple::apple::apple:

Aww so you probably shouldn't use any Apple products. Or anything in general. Your stolen or knock off claims can be made for apple themselves. Hell they just ripped the notifications from android. Get over yourself quickly

AT&T is an amazing carrier in my opinion, but their LTE coverage is basically nonexistent at this point. And didn't they JUST release the Galaxy S II? They should just stick with HSPA+ for now.

That phone is freaking ugly. The UI is almost impossible to learn without 12 hours of play time. To contrast directly with that--my three year old picked up my iPhone and just started using it.

Someone wake me up to this sort of thing when it doesn't totally blow.

You ever consider that your 3 year old is just really smart? The hackers are getting younger and younger these days...

Screw it! My iPhone 4 as of Sunday will become an iPod as I will be picking up the horribly named 'Skyrocket' LTE variant of the Samsung Galaxy S2.

I'll probably report back on Monday that my battery lasted all of 5 hours but just like the Honey Badger, I don't give a crap anymore. Going to go full in for the Android experience with a big ace 4.5" screen until the next iPhone 5 / 6 / LTE / or whatever they call it arrives whenever that will be.

Wish me luck!

This really isn't a bad phone. I think of it like the Nexus S where it seems to be worth a second look.

The Skyrocket is basically the AT&T version of Galaxy Nexus with better specs. The question like with all non-Nexus phones is if you will get updates and for how long? Google basically needed to create a Nexus line to fend off fragmentation from OEM's. LG Optimus 2X not upgradeable to ICS is a prime example.

Not to mention the iPhone uses the Samsung processor and they would like to get ahold of that amoled screen for its iPads. hate for Apple to get stolen goods put into their phones, ya know the knock off parts and stuff like the A5 processor. That Amoled screen is a bit of a knock off too.

Phone seems like a turd.

Pretty simple really. Android continues to make upgrades several times a year while Apple does it once a year. You cant keep up doing it that way. They are already behind and will continue to keep falling behind.

I have much rspect for what Steve Jobs did but he is gone now. Apple fell apart last time he left them. Now he sadly wont be coming back. Not to say Apple will crumble, but the guy with the impecable vision and ideas is gone. His ideas he left behind is a good thing but they will eventually run out and they still wont happen but once a year.

Because the 4S was such a downer, I wanted the iphone 5. But decided to go over to Android with the new Galaxy S II Skyrocket that has more goodies than the iphone could hope for and it supports full 4g LTE speeds. :) I should have it this week as well.

The 4S was NOT exactly a weapon of mass destruction!

You need to check the sales numbers for Android and Apple.

The numbers are not "totally meaningless":p

The numbers are meaningless to apple. They don't care about competing with other phones. They don't care about sales figures. They care about creating 1 special device. Sales numbers for Android vs Apple are pointless. If iOS was on hundreds of different phones then comparing numbers would be fine. But it's not. Comparing Android to Apple is like comparing Windows XP to the latest version of the 15" MacBook Pro. You can't compare a mobile OS to 1 (or 2; iP4) particular phone. Android (Google) is based on sales figures. iOS is based on user experience.

went from a SGS2 to a 4S..going back to the SGS2....far better phone I'm afraid,so the Galaxy skyrocket is slightly better than the SGS2,this is one hell of a bit of kit......pity we can't get it the UK...mind you the SGS3 is due in a couple of months so god knows how quick that is going to be!!!!...very very quick, i suspect and built specifically for ICS,that will some serious phone!!!
