It doesn't look half bad, but if there was one place they could have really improved--it would have been the name. Dynamic Spot is even worse than Dynamic Island! They must have the same marketing consultants as Apple.
Good thing Apple didn't name it Generic Island ;-)

I mean it's clear from the start that I wasn't interested in your petty assumptions regarding patents, trials, suing people or anything like that so yeah, most of what you wrote is pointless.

LoL, you are amusing. Of course I'm not going to waste my time with the irrelevant direction you tried to set for your arguments as you were completely unable to address the actual point I made. You made a cheap accusations in case you forgot.

Well if telling people they should have the decency of understanding the subject, so basically to read(at least the title because even in the title it clearly says Android app) before making cheap accusations is arrogant, than maybe I am arrogant, and this is just because I care for the truth

Its accurate only in your mind. I don't have to search XDA for anything, I'm a member of their forum.
If I look at the XDA thread about this specific app(which was opened by the developer of the app itself) I can see 120 posts(and most of the discussion there is technical in nature), that's less than this forum, isn't that ironic? And XDA has 10 million members vs half a million for Macrumors. Also very popular Android apps have over 5 billion installs and according to recent statistics, there are over 3 billion active android users. This is just so you can understand how popular apps that Android fans really want can get.

Nope, the only "significant" number I can find is of people correcting apple fans that can't properly read.
Yeah "your observation" doesn't have a leg to stand on.
Lol.

Pointless is what someone with a rigid focus states because they don’t want nor care to understand the other side of a debate. It’s easy so you can avoid being in the wrong. It’s easy cause reading is too much so you state it’s irrelevant & pointless yet you’re so unaware.

Again nothing intelligent for your rebuttals just the typical Internet forum posts.

You’ve participated quite heavily to debate yet you’re claiming you’re not interested from the start lol yet that’s exactly what you’ve been doing.

I’m not assuming I’ve done the searches both here and on XDA forums something you’re unwilling to take a few minutes to validate as you’re rigid and scared to be enlightened beyond your viewpoint. You’ve offered nothing intelligent so I’m done, too sexy for this unmoving, unenlightening debate.

Take care.

😅 The comments on here make me chuckle. The LG V10 running on Android had this feature 7 years ago!
And look at where LG is today.

I think it just goes to show that there is a lot more involved in making any particular feature stand out than simply shoving it into a device and calling it a day. And Apple doesn't really enough recognition for their efforts because the critics are too busy falling over themselves to see who did it first, not realising they are completely missing the forest for the trees.

And looking at the state of the competition today, I say "Res ipsa loquitur"

Lol.

I'm not rigid at all.
Let's get things straight.
In my initial Replay I completely ignored the part regarding "Apple it's time to place a Cease and Desist order" and I only quoted the part I wanted to answer to but you keep insisting I should have debated on the subject you wanted. It makes no sens.
And last it is completely pointless debate as proved by the way this thread evolved. Apple isn't going to sue a small app developer and after the link posted here by a user I looks like the "dynamic island" isn't that original since a Honor phone launched in 2018 had a very similar use of the hole in the screen.

You are describing your posts it seems.

Man the XDA thread about the app actually proves that YOU ARE WRONG. Instead of asking others to prove your points why don't you do a little research? XDA or Macrumors absolutely don't validate at all the claim: so many Android user will vehemently shout above mount Everest that they 'hate apple' yet will jump at any chance for a UI or hardware that copies what Apple has brought forth.
In the XDA thread Apple is barely mentioned at all and it's for the most part a technical discussion unlike discussions on Macrumors. Where are these Android users that vehemently shout that they 'hate apple' and jump at any chance for a UI or hardware that copies Apple? I bet you don't know.

The dynamic island is nothing but a gimmick. Marketing made it sound cool for like 12 hours after the Apple event, but seeing it in person, it's worse in every way compared to the hole punches of the Samsungs and Pixels.

I think DI is a gimmick regardless of OS. The impressive thing is that on Android the developer can implement and offer it to the users with ease whereas on iOS, Apple would have never allowed such an app in the App Store.
Yeah, this indeed seems to be a thing with Apple. 2 past cases I can recall off the top of my head includes:
1) App Store
Jailbreaking was required to access the only app store for iOS in its early days. Apple ended doing their own.
2) That blue light night shift thingy
Studies showed that blue light disturbs your ability to sleep, so shifting to orange hues facilitated that. It was some independent research that produced those results, while another dev implemented that into use for jail broken devices (and still recall some MR users saying "the company didn't do anything", even though they're dismissing all of that development work) to implement it).

It's kind of depressing that the Android world seems so interested in a feature that's passable enough for most Apple diehards to pass on this year's phone. You've got a full top row, guys… have some self-esteem.
It depends on where you are on the internet. On another forum, they announced this is also for Android, whereas the responses there aren't of any interest. Specifically, some are saying they don't want iShitz ideas from Apple. Android is good enough without having to use these ideas.

Ugggh.

1. Honor made a simplistic software extension of the time ONLY around the front facing camera. nothing else. Completely different enough to warrant a patent. This isn't like the slide to unlock from iPhone 5 down to iPhone OG vs NEO phone long long ago.

2. I wasn't talking about "A" developers 'SPECIFIC' thread. Again you're rigid in your ideal and thought and decision because you're not fully reading what I've stated just partial and then jumping down on PART of what I stated. Half story, half understanding leads to half-stepping.

Everything else is a wash - time to step off of this.
Caio bella.

It's still the same basic idea, they just didn't expand on it.

If you were talking about XDA in general, you are even more wrong then.
I'm not rigid at all and it's getting embarrassing the way you are trying to defend that biased and rigid(blind even) claim you made.
Don't forget that you haven't proven anything at all(which is not a surprise). Asking somebody to go and prove your claim isn't proof of anything.

They were separated paragraphs anyway, in the first sentence you attacked the app developer/s in the last one, android users. Also on the middle of the comment you made a cheap and ridiculous attack towards Samsung which I also ignored because of how ridiculous it was.
You are obviously not better in any way than those you are attacking.

The posts here are hilarious. Android didn't copy Apple here as Android simply doesn't need the pill shaped cutout as we have a far superior notification system with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The developer just developed this in his free time as a fun way to experiment how it would look on Android. It's a testament to Android's open nature that such an app is allowed to exist. If any iOS Dev tried to develop dynamic island for older iPhones, Apple would just remove the app.

Full disclosure: I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max and an S22 Ultra and I downloaded this app just to see what the fuss was about. It felt so much inferior to the existing Samsung notification system I uninstalled it.

Android doesn't need dynamic island as it's a solution to a unique problem which only affects Apple. Samsung has moved on to superior biometric authentication methods which doesn't need this solution
