No and http://www.eatliver.com/img/2009/4068.jpg
But that's a bad comparison. Android is hardly as terrible as you guys think. There is allot about android that i'm sure iPhone users would enjoy. Sure it's buggier but it's not like the thread title was "windows mobile on iPhone 4, would you use it?".

I already have the standard Android font (which is the part of that OS that I absolutely love) on my iPhone, so no need for me to install the whole OS.

nope. I think iOS is far superior for now. I think in the future it will not be. Then I will switch. If it never gets better than iOS then i will always stay in iOS.
I am no fanboy I will always use what suits my needs better. Right now it's iOS all the way and Win7 for desktop and a Macbook for laptop.

Considering I used to have a Microsoft Vista theme back in the day for my iPod touch, I don't mind. I like live widgets. I played with the Captivate and really liked it. Way better than the Xperia X10 which I anticipated a great deal since last year until SE disappointed again upon playing with it. Also, my stepdad has stuck to Verizon all these years. Tried AT&T and iPhone once and hated the service. He got a Droid X last week. Read alot of great reviews on it being fast and said he would give it to me after two years. I said, "Cool." Will use it as an internet tablet in 2012.

I do prefer Android on an Android phone though just like iOS on a Apple product. So I could care less of having two OSes. I am fickle with phones like in cars. With cars, I don't always go for the same color or manufacturer for my next one. I get bored pretty fast too.

No thanks, tried android and it wasn't for me.
Same here. I've played around with a couple of Android phones and don't like the interface nearly as well as iOS. It just seems more cluttered and less organized to me. I imagine I'd get used to it if I spent some time with it (amazing how adaptable we humans are), but nothing about it held my interest enough to tempt me.

I have windows bootcamp on my mac and vmware fusion, because on very rare occasions I have things I want/need to do in windows. I almost never use it though.

I know of no reason or need for why I would ever need to run the Android OS to do anything... so the answer is quite directly no.

It is like people who take old antique items and then try to polish them up with a wool pad to get off the "dirt".

I would love an Android type notification system on iOS4 and WebOS type multitasking. The notification is probably the biggest thing I miss from my previous phone (Nexus One)

If i wanted an Android device i would have purchased one:). So no i will not be installing Android on my iPhone. This would be like putting finger paint on one of picasso's works of art.

I have both an iPhone and an Android device. I wouldn't put the android on the iPhone or even use android as my primary phone OS ... But that's not to say I hate the Android.

There are some features that if put into iOs would kill android off. Actually, just 2 features would be enough to seal the deal.

1) Widgets
2) Better notification

Widgets, although a battery drainer are really nifty. I like being able to see twitter feeds/weather/news flashes without opening the app.

iOS notifications suck, they really do.

Maybe custom icon placing as well... sometimes I want one row of icons in the middle.

Some of the responses make me chuckle. I bet some of the ones calling Android ugly are Windows XP users for many years.

Android is not that bad. Once on Froyo, it is smooth as butter. Still better OS than anything Nokia or RiM have ever put out. What some dense fanboys don't realize is how there are many great phones in the market right now. iPhone 4, Droid X, Droid 2, Nexus One, HTC Evo, Galaxy S series, etc. Many are Android phones. I say by 2011, Android will get closer to where I want it to be. The gap between iOS vs Android is closing.

Watch Phonedog's comparison four-way dog fight on YouTube between the Droid X, iPhone 4, Samsung Vibrant, and HTC Evo. The iPhone 4 has the smallest screen and the homescreen isn't all that informative in vanilla form with the typical grid icons we've seen for over three years. What made the iPhone 4 great this year was making weaknesses a strength. iPhone was not known to be great with still pictures, video recording, and battery life. Now it is known as one of the best for those areas among smartphones for this year.

I absolutely would!

Simply because I'm a bit of a geek and have interest and seeing what it has to offer. I have never owned an android phone before as this is my first smart phone.

how about a smartphone that triple boots: Android/iOS/Windows Phone 7

haHA!

edit: forget about RIM/WebOS. Symbian is a european thing right? haHA

would i run ios4 on my nexus...NO...im not a simpleton:p
Hehe, nice. :p

Don't let iOS' simplicity fool you. It's been designed to be simple(in appearance and in use), masking some impressive tech under the hood. That takes much more skill to accomplish, than to merely say: "Look at my U.I! It's much more complex, so therefore it must be more advanced!"
That, is the lazy way out. The same thinking applies to the hardware aesthetics too.[/fanboi]:D

The first question would be which version and skin of android. there are so many different skins and versions out there.. it seems like every phone has a different "flavor" of android so that just saying "android" means very little. I just saw where there are some non-smartphones coming out with a very scaled down version of android on them.

Once those bootrom exploits come out, it will all be possible. I cant wait to do this to my iPad... (already installed it on my iPhone 3G).
My main concern is driver support. The community is pretty skilled though...
We shall see.

Glad to see this bumped again.
I am somewhat of an apple fan boy and i would love android on my ipad or iPhone. Yeah like what you said drivers will be the problem but if we get passed that it will be awesome
