I agree, I don't think I'd want to give up iOS for Android either. However, I wouldn't mind having both on one device.

+1

I must confess that I'd be tempted to try Android on my iPhone, but currently iOS is much superior and unless Android improves a lot in the near future I wouldn't replace iOS.

You want an Apple product, buy it for what it is.

You want Droid. Get that.

Hell, I don't even have a smartphone. I have a straighttalk flip phone! Yeah!

Why would anyone spend more moneys on an iPhone 4 just to use the OS of a cheaper phone? That would be called a bad investment.

If it can improve the notification system on my iPhone and add widgets to my homescreen without the need to jailbreak it, hell yeah I would.

But I will likely get an Android phone by itself first to not worry about the interchanging and restrictions coming from Apple themselves.

If Google can convince me they have a better cloud service for media storage over Air Play, then I'll likely be getting Android. If Android gets PlayStation-branded phones with the entire PS back catalog, I will be getting Android. Pretty much "GAME OVER" for Apple in the game department. The reason why Apple has better games now is because it has MORE and has been around longer. Quantity over quality. There isn't that many "great" games. Just many casual games to pass the time and because that it is all that is offered and for the cheap price. But hardware needs to keep evolving to cater to some of these games too. And Android has that advantage. It doesn't take a year to upgrade. PC games vs Mac games all over again.

Disclaimer
I own an iPhone 4. I am a Linux user, open source advocate and member of the Free Software Foundation. I am also a Windows user, performance PC enthusiast. I own a MacBook 5,1 which dual-boots Fedora 13 and OS X.

Personally, I would like to see an Android build for iOS devices, for these reasons:

- I would like more openness from Apple's App Store
- I really love the iPhone's design but the jury is out on iOS
- I'm curious to try Android without buying an Android device
- I'm not a fan of lock-in, hardware or software, Apple or Microsoft

My opinions are subjective, and I don't really subscribe to any one fan-boy ideology.
