Apple didn't need 'saving' Steve already did that.
Because saving a company isn't synonymous with benefiting one...

"unforgettable launch"
That's true alright. People trying on watches they had purchased on-line the night before by staying up until 3am and hitting refresh and praying?
How is that personally guiding anyone the day AFTER they've bought it before seeing it or trying it on?
Angela is doing a wonderful job so far. People are just going in on her because she is a woman and they have always had unrealistic expectations for women and minorities. The bottom line is there is a 70% fail rate in yields for the watch. Then couple that with demand that far outstripped supply. Going in almost everyone was MEH on the watch. Then all the sudden when it comes out it turns out to be an even bigger deal than the iphone and the ipad and the ipad mini when they launched. Now people are upset Apple is struggling to keep up with the demand.
Angela is the only person capable of handling luxury retail items at this level. She was absolutely the right person for this job and she is doing a fine job given the constraints of supply, demand and the unrealistic expectations of Apple fans. We all will have to deal with getting our watches as they come. Apple is working hard to get as many watches in people's hands as possible.

So chic and doing a wonderful job so far. I can't wait to see what else she has planned for the future.
People don't care about her being a woman. It's about her being payed enormous amounts of money for performing at the level of a retail store manager. Customers don't care about the excuses that Apple had a great deal of these days. Especially not when the key individuals in charge are compensated In the millions of dollars per year to have things run smoothly.
What a trainwreck.
Happy to be proven wrong in a few weeks but for now, I stand by my opinion that this will be the worst product failure in tech.

People who didn't pre-order might as wait until June and get one in store. I honestly don't think there have been many pre-orders after Friday 10th. Either people ordered on day (hour) one or they will order/buy in June. I really don't think the queue is getting much longer now. 2-3 million in 24 hours and maybe a few hundred thousand since, no major increase in sales until June. I also think this is why no numbers have been announced. If they said "we've hit 3 million" now they couldn't say "we've hit 3.2 million at WWDC" coz they'd look stupid.

Irrelevant. Preorder started shortly before "previewing" the product in person, and we've been preordering all our iDevices sight unseen.
If supply gets caught up by Christmas, this will be the hottest selling product by a landslide.
lol I'm surprised she wouldn't have thought to stop the video and turn down the volume on the device she was using to record that message.
Anyway, I'm guessing this supply shortage issue will all prove itself to be a giant non-issue in a few weeks time. I really don't think most people are going to be waiting until June or July to get their orders.
LOL! You like what I did here... There is some truth to what I said. Tech has always been a very bro oriented culture. They treat women and minorities accordingly. This is the biggest load of fluff/crap, you don't have any insight or clue into the job that Angela is doing. None of us do unless we are closet executives at Apple. The women/minority portion is especially comical. Thanks for pointing out that we all evidently are biased against women in the workplace.
With that said, I do agree that she's doing a perfectly fine job at executing what was no doubt a well planned and thought out release strategy given the complete set of circumstances available to her and the rest of the executive team.
1. No doubt there have been production discoveries that could lead to less than desirable yields
2. Low supply of an Apple product always leads to pandemonium and an increased "I have to have it" attitude. If supply gets caught up by Christmas, this will be the hottest selling product by a landslide.
3. The Apple watch has more "configurations" than any other Apple product, and coupled with item 2 it actually does make sense to treat this launch differently, almost as a "beta" of sorts to see where the demand really is instead of having bad press that goes along with some configurations going un-sold initially.
