No company can afford to absorb 150% plus tariffs.😂 Raise prices, then have a XX percent off sale. Could have just left prices where they are. But optically, that doesn't look as goods as "Limited Time Offer! Get XX percent off!"
What a scam.

It won't be until China decides to stop exporting to the US that some folks will realized how screwed we are. We depend upon exports from China for pretty much everything. It would be a veritable economic sanctions against us.
Half of us knows we hitch our wagon to the wrong horse. Hail, we were cheated by the system and brain dead MAGAts.![]()
Sure, except for the fact that the raw materials that they need to buy are going up. Everything will cost more, everything ...Washing Machines are easy to find Made in the USA.
Speed Queen is made in Wisconsin.
Whirlpool and Maytag in Ohio.
GE in Kentucky.
Whirlpool, GE, Sub-Zero, True Residential refrigerators are Made in the USA, too.
Does anybody "need" a television?
It’s the same Chinese factory that makes his “MAGA” hats.Don't worry, Trump has a secret factory that he will reveal next week so that we have competition and can produce these amazing devices locally!!! It is all part of his plan!!

No, he is a terrible business man who keeps failing upwards. Here is a list of Businesses of Donald Trump that went bankrupt.Because we can determine that from the last week![]()
I agree. But their prices didn't go up because of Trump's 145% tariffs which only recently went into effect. Plus, all freight that was on the water this week is exempt from any new Trump tariffs, including freight already on the way from China and any nations now under a 90-day reprieve. No company can afford to absorb 150% plus tariffs.
As noted by Reuters, Anker has increased pricing on about a fifth of its products since Thursday of last week. Prices are up approximately 18 percent, and there is a possibility for further increases. A power bank that was $88 is now $110, for example, and a charging station that was $250 is now $270.
Anker is still offering some discounts, and it has a site-wide sale right now for MacRumors readers. Any product on the Anker website is discounted by 20 percent with the promo code Ankermacrumors2025.
It would be unsurprising for a merchant to pay for tomorrow’s inventory with today’s sales. It's only Friday, so are you saying that all the of the stock that was already in the US, or in a port, or on a cargo ship prior to the tariff placement has already been sold? Or are they or Amazon just adjusting the price early?
OMG! Garbage products we don’t need AT ALL are overpriced now. What ever will we do!!???
There would be rioting on US streets long before it becomes an economical problem for China. Deprive us, the 'Merican people, of our cheap comforts for a month or so and the whole nations will be a giant dumpster fire.Halt exports to the US…and then be stuck with a country full of businesses who have no product to offload? The CCP is stupid, but they’re not that far gone that they’d send their own country into vast turmoil. How will they fund their belt and road if nobody’s buying their junk 😂

I wouldn't disagree as much as i would not disagree. It's not unlike non-US countries to not disassociate themselves from non tariffed trade so we'd embrace the era of non un-tariffed free-trade agreements. Not unlike the US these days.
I heard that they are shooting in the straight of Taiwan.China, notorious straight shooter and fair trader.
I had a 2-1 charging stand where the hinge for the phone part broke. They replaced it no questions asked...well, other than if I was okay receiving the newer 3-1 version of the stand. Also had them replace a surge protector with no questions asked. Was quite straightforward. TBC, I'm not trying to discount your experience, just sharing that mine has been quite different.Their stuff lasts about a year and its done. I won't buy from them again after trying to get a replacement for the external battery that I bought from them died 6 months into owning it.
Where do the parts from an iPhone come from? Do you think everything comes from China?Where do the parts come from? U.S. companies that aren't end-to-end manufacturing here will also likely have to deal with price increases.
Is that why Speed Queen and Sub-Zero (both Wisconsin, interestingly) are always at the top of ratings? Speed Queens are built so well.Yeah and American washing machines and dishwashers are terrible. And I believe Walmart through Vizio is the last American TV maker. And guess where they manufacture.

Trick question? LOL, I'm in the minority on MR, buying only Apple chargers and cables directly from Apple or from an authorized brick and mortar dealer, but I probably overreacted years ago to the tear-down stories about counterfeit chargers showing the flawed designs that could pose fire hazards. So if you need an accessory where would you buy a non-garbage product from?
