Please consider sending bug feedback to Apple about this. Here’s the link https://www.apple.com/feedback/watch.htmlWell.
I setup my Series 6 wOS7.1 as new while pairing to new 12 Pro Max.
Still the same problem.
Sometimes the button is there, but at the latest after a restart it's gone again, and Siri also has to redownload the voice data.

Nope. It still comes and goes for me. And when I look at the Siri accent info on the watch it will often just say “waiting to download.” The Series 6 does not seem to be retaining the Siri voice assets for some reason. And it appears without those local voice assets the Announce Messages with Siri feature becomes unavailable - this the missing icon. If you haven’t already done so please submit feedback to Apple here https://www.apple.com/feedback/watch.htmlwas this ever resolved> til this day i don not have that feature
That is severely disappointing. I was really hoping 7.2 would fix it.Not on mine with the 7.2 RC
What I don’t get is why it worked fine on my Series 4. And it still works fine on my wife’s Series 4. It just doesn’t on my Series 6. I have set up as new etc.Still missing on my watch.
I had the above issue as well. In my case was related to how Outlook was also pulling in contacts. Once I stopped using Outlook from work to import contacts, the problem was resolved (in my case). What I don’t get is why it worked fine on my Series 4. And it still works fine on my wife’s Series 4. I wonder if it is related somehow to a borked iCloud config with Siri. If I had the time to troubleshoot I would link it to my wife’s iCloud account and see if the problem persisted. Some of the Siri iCloud problems are very opaque. For instance, a few weeks ago, Siri kept telling my wife when she told Siri to call “my husband” that Siri didn’t know who her husband was. Siri was recognizing the relationship that previously she had no issue with. So my wife would tell Siri which contact was her husband. Siri would confirm and then on the next try would say again that she didn’t know who the husband was. I realized that my wife had a middle name field in her contact card for me. On a hunch, we deleted the middle name from the contact card and then Siri would properly recognize my contact card as my wife’s “husband” when she directed Siri to call the husband.
Mine was not after 7.2. I had to change Siri accent again and then force reset the watch. Then it came back. Like you, I am not holding my breath that it stays beyond a day or so.Updated to WatchOS 7.2 last night. This morning, the icon was back. We'll see if it sticks around...
The positive factor this time is that I did not need to mess with siri voices or anything. I was just living without the icon when lo and behold it reappeared naturally after the update. Bummer that was not the case for you.Mine was not after 7.2. I had to change Siri accent again and then force reset the watch. Then it came back. Like you, I am not holding my breath that it stays beyond a day or so.
Mine seems to have arrived for good since the update to watchOS 7.2.![]()
