News of this week's Apple retail store openings has been trickling out day-by-day so far, and it seems that Apple has added one more opening to the schedule for this Saturday.

On Monday, we noted the unusual mid-week opening for the Stratford City store in London scheduled for the following day, with the new Jungfernstieg store in Hamburg, Germany following suit on Saturday. Yesterday, we reported that Apple had added two more opening for Saturday: Cielo Vista Mall in El Paso, Texas and Via Rizzoli in Bologna, Italy.

Apple last night added a fifth opening to this week's schedule with the debut of the Braehead store in Glasgow, Scotland. The store joins the existing Buchanan Street location to become the second in Glasgow, and will be Apple's 33rd store in the United Kingdom.

Along the tradition of the lawsuit threads :

Can we get a "Retail store opening/design/planning" tab ?

That'd be great! Next up will be MacDonald's rumors, posting everytime when a McD's opens up around the world!

Whoop Whoop!

Whoop never thought I'd ever see a shout out for Glasgow on MacRumors! Anyone know what time it opens at might pop down on Saturday to check it out, as I missed the opening of the Buchanan Street store a couple of years back. Whats the chances Apple will be giving out free t-shirts, do they always hand out t-shirts at the opening of new stores?

Should of went for Silverburn, much better location then Braehead + bigger units... and most importantly, its closer to me :D

Free T Shirts for first 1000

So glasgow, pop. 600k gets two stores and leeds population 800k gets none?

Asshats.

Apparently Apple and the new Hollister store were meant to go to Silverburn but they couldn't provide Apple with any units with the required square footage. Will be a serious blow for Silverburn to have missed out on an Apple store.

Gives me another reason to go skiing at Xscape in Braehead

But when are we going to get a store in Edinburgh?

There's a store in Aberdeen in the new Union Sq shopping centre. It's long overdue for a store to open in Princes St - great for locals and international visitors alike. Our local Cancom store might suffer a bit though.

Well, Glasgow is Scotlands capital.

As a Glaswegian living in Edinburgh I think Auld Reekie is still the capital..

Apple needs to open more stores round Yorkshire The Meadowhall Store is the only official one. Places like York, Hull, leeds, Doncaster, Bradford all need them :D

The Silverburn units are really small, big space above them for company names but the stores themselves are tiny. It's a shame the style of Silverburn better suits Apple.

Apparently according to the Herald last year Princess Street is getting one

That'll be nice for the Neds, once they've run out of money to chuck in the Puggy they can head over there to check their Facebook accounts.

I kid, I kid....I do like Glasgow! :D

Apple have standards ;) I've never seen a ned in the glasgow store! Security must know neds can't afford anything Apple make :D :apple:

Guessing the tram work chaos in town has slowed Apple wanting to open a store in Edinburgh.

News that they'll be digging up Princes St again (because the trams are going along there again now) won't be helping any business look at Princes St as a good retail location.
