Just remember that the S3 doesn't have SAMOLED +, it's a nice screen but still pentile.

But give credit where it's due. Samsung's made an amazing phone, and if rumors are true, Apple new phone will be nearly an inch smaller and lack removable battery.

Why do people want a removable battery so much? I must be missing something. My non-removable batteries on Apple products always seem to last longer (both per charge and lifetime) than removable batteries. Come to think of it, I've never replaced a battery on any of my Apple devices.

I need to stop watching these alleged iPhone mock ups. The more I see these mock ups, the less I want an iPhone 5 and the less I look forward to its launch. I will just sit back, relax, ignore all these rumors and await the Keynote in the Fall.

So far, I have not liked ANY of these alleged iPhone 5s. They all look like crap!

Hahahaha

These rumors and leaks just continue to crack me up.

The biggest mistake are the company's that are already producing cases for a longer iPhone lol. THIS DESIGN WON'T HAPPEN. Apple is the best of the best and they have reasons for all their amazing designs, but this is just awful.

If by some devie miracle they come out with this design, then I'll keel over.

This.

I was going to post this exact same thing. People are thinking way too hard into this. I was looking at the Phillips screws on the bottom of my iPhone 4 and wondering why everyone was blabbing about the screws being un-Apple. They look fine.

Well, you have an early iPhone 4 model. They used Phillips #00 scews. After the crashes the iPhone 4 experienced early on, people started to take it appart and disconnect the battery. Now, if you can take an electronic device appart with simple tools, the manufacturer has a hard time proving that the warranty is void because essentially, they caused the problem with having no other way for users to reset.
So, after a while, Apple started to use proprietary Pentalobe scews. It is just a deterrent to enter your device - that is if you don't buy the replacement kit from ifixit.com but you then viod your warranty (if you don't want to go to the small caims courts).
So, it can be assumed that Apple would use Pentalobe screws on the next iPhone and all prototypes. Funny thing is: This article is about a mockup. No need to argue about which kind of scew they use. Of course, it isn't Apple. For a case producer, they would give out an aluminum or wood block at the most - if any - so the producer can build a case around it (and they would include in the documentation which areas aught not to be covered). Now, first of all, Apple is not interested at this moment to give out mockups because they would reveil details, and second, if the case producer would show that thing, that would be the last time they get a licensing and/or cooperation and it would look aweful with their case around.

this is so NOT the real one. It's just a mockup. Look at the flare on the screen. The glass flare definitely doesn't look like that.

It looks like the flare on the painted/printed screen.

The MagSafe connector is a great idea for a laptop. When someone accidentally trips over your power cord, the connector snaps free while the relatively heavy laptop stays where it is.

When someone trips over the charging cable for your iPhone, the MagSafe connector would drag the phone off the table. If you grab the cable to save your precious iPhone, the MagSafe connector would snap free, and the iPhone would fall freely to the floor.
Actually, I can easily push around my 13" MacBook Air by walking into my power cord. It often doesn't snap free. I don't think it would be a shock if they gave the new iPhone a magsafe connector. Yes, it wouldn't have the snap-free safety that the magsafe has for heavier laptops, but like I said, that's already effectively gone with their lighter Air laptops anyway. The magsafe would still offer the advantage of easy on/off connecting when wanting to charge your phone and could possibly offer the advantage of a single-standard charging cable that could be used to charge your iPhone, iPad, and MacBook.

People who say the new iPhone looks ugly should remember the initial comments on the leaked iPhone 4. Very few people liked it but when it came out it was generally considered to be the most beautiful phone ever.

Just wait until you hold it in your hands.

Case manufacturers can't be trusted:

To reset the iphone just hold the power and home buttons together for a few seconds.

Looks fake, and i have seen a lot of discrepancies between supposed front covers, they have different thicknesses of plastic between the button and the bottom of the screen and the bottom of the panel.
But this picture looks face anyway and case manufacturers are the last people I would trust for correct rumours.

And today, yes, that works. The lockups early adopters of the iPhone 4 saw were not doing anything if you tried it. I remember working with a nurse and her 4 and she even had screwdrivers with her for that. I tried the button grip for over 2 minutes and the apple was still on there not doing anything. Again, this issue is fixed for quite some time now, but it existed back in the days.

Boring...if this turns out to be the new iphone. Of course it will be ''revolutionary and designed from scratch'' when in reality it will be just an elongated iphone 4.

Because people use their phones and sometimes they run out of juice and a power outlet is not an option. It is pathetic that they are sealing up their devices like that.

If Apple decides to change the connector from the universal 30 pin connector to something else it will be a standard Micro USB port in compliance with the EU's new regulations on smartphone charging. Going from one proprietary connector to another doesn't seem to make much sense (why alienate all those old device that one could connect the device to for nothing).

T.

Oddly enough its :apple:, at present they include a µUSB to dock connector pin in Europe. I would not put it pass them to do something similar. ;):p

wow a bigger screen just to add another row of icons, how revolutionary /pointless would that be
Yeah, that screen space will just be blanked over black when you're reading emails, and lets not even talk about how there will now be black bars on all four sides of the picture when watching that hard-to-find 16:9 video...

I think apple will introduce us a new technology. "Palm Charging" place phone onto palm to automatically charge! :D

From an EX-fanboy... Do you recall when the physical pics showing no change to the iPhone were released last year everyone was 'nope these are fake' but, yet again we have physical pics of a stretched iPhone...

As proud owner of a Galaxy I can tell you that there is lot more to screen real estate than watching wide screen movies i.e. writing a long email in landscape! (along with lots more)

This will be the greatest bungle Apple will have made so far if it is just stretched.

PS I sold the Samsung G3 to an apple genius the other day... a personal triumph, though not hard

People carry around extra batteries for their phones? I have no problem getting a day of battery out of my iPhone 4. I just am sure to charge it every night.

The only way 4 inch iPhone would work is if it is made thinner. These "leaked " images looked awful. Thr iPhone 5 is looking like baby Huey with the chunky width and tall height.

And it needs a totally make over. Why not change the home button or forgo thr whole home button and make a touch button apple? What about more colors? I'm tired of same freaking design.

And please no more glass backs. Go back to the tough alumuim you use to have.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. However with removable batteries it is easier for thr average person to replace themselves. Thr average person doesn't know how to change an iPhone battery.

Hong Kong

I have seen so many Iphone and Ipod Touch knockoffs in Hong Kong. Just go to Mong Kok and you will see a crapload of them. I've got to say though that they have gotten alot better at making knockoffs over the years. You can't tell the difference unless you try using the device. They also have "authorized retailers" there. None of them look like the real thing. They are just little stores on the side of the street. The "leaked photos" of the iphone 6 looks like a knockoff. The vendors practically have a mini factory at their booth. They have all the tools that they need right there. How hard do you think it will it be for them to make the product shown in the picture? It would probably take them about a week to make. Don't believe me? Just go to Mong Kok in Hk and you will know exactly what I am talking about.
