I think my big problem is misplaced blame. You guys should be emailing those crappy restaurants telling them that Flash is a technology from the 1990s and that there is no reason their menu should be presented that way. Tell them that the web designer they found in the local homeless shelter gave them a crummy website that well over a hundred million people can't view. Seriously: if *any* web designer is making new pages with Flash they are a completely talentless idiot. There is absolutely no reason on earth to create any content with Flash.

To the guy who said his University's BlackBoard doesn't work: Are you sure? I'm not challenging you. But, I just tried logging into my old University's BlackBoard service (wow, I can't believe my login still works) and it used JavaScript for BlackBoard, not Flash. Ie, I have all Flash disabled and was able to use it just fine.

BTW: For anybody that wants a good laugh, go on YouTube and lookup videos of Flash running on Android. Comical. It's the choppiest crap I've ever seen in my life, it looks like you're trying to stream HD video between a pair of tin cans. And that's just video! Imagine a Flash app - vomit!

Hi, person who steals content from others without paying for it and yet buys a ridiculous amount of expensive technology but is still in college and probably his parents buy him everything, the point is that Apple will never make an option to enable Flash. It's an absolutely ridiculous idea.

stick to ad hominems, you're getting better at it. Not that it's any of your business, but this is my second masters. And as for your comments about stealing: tell me you never downloaded an mp3 file from the web before itunes came on the scene, or watched a movie from youtube or any website which should not be there, or used a your DVR to copy a show you do not own into your PC or Mac and into an ipod. Again. Your argument? I will not pay for a movie I'll watch once and that I can watch by typing onto google "watchtransformersnow." That's my prerogative. I'm not sorry I do not function, think or do as you.

If there's an option between having a choice and not having one. I simply happen to pick the choice. And again, (disingenuous disgust alert) I'm probably buying a tablet next year, yes, with my own money, and a new macbook too, and probably a 52 inch tv, and a new car, and paying $30K for another year of my non-ending education. None of which I need but Simply because I want. And that tablet will not be an ipad due to lacking flash which i happen to "need" on a daily basis. Or until the sites I use change or get an app. then this would just be a waste of time.

Funny thing. My partner just attempted to log into her work email from my ipad - high school teacher - a no show also. Not even the school district webpage displayed correctly. Your argument?

What is it that bothers you? My inconsistency in spending my own money? My liberty to go against your holy thread and disclose that I'm still using flash? My opinion that apple's move is not perfect? The fact that i like the ipad, but will not buying another one? Or the fact that your opinions do not matter? Grow up.

i swear to you that flash will not survive the night. i have written to hundreds of thousands of web developers across the globe telling them how foolish and incompetent they are for using flash. i have demonstrated that anyone seeking to view flash must be criminally stupid. change is nigh! we are on the eve of a revolution thanks to our all-knowing leader, peace be upon him. viva la revolucion!

to say flash is unnecessary is absurd. . . . I don't always want to spend $4.99 to see a movie once which I will never see again. So instead of carrying my macbook to bed to watch that movie from a flash based website, I'd like to use the iPad. But that's not currently possible. None of the flash-supporting apps in the appstore fully solve the problem that is lacking flash.

So your argument is 'The absence of Flash is a problem, and one of the reasons it's a problem is because I can't circumvent property rights as easily'.

Anyway, as for the rest of your blow-up, nobody says you shouldn't buy what you want, unless I missed something. The argument made to you is (in part) that the above isn't a very convincing reason why Apple has an obligation to provide a Flash option.
