It certainly looks nicer, but please take 2 seconds to think about how hard this would make shooting landscape photos and videos. Where would you hold it?

Hard to believe because of faceID tech
Yea that’s what I was thinking. There’s a lot going on in the center top and I’m not sure there is enough thickness there to house it all. This design does look good if they can pull it off. Then again, iPhone has never had a center camera so....

This looks a little better than the last rumor, at least.

Agree 1,000%. The last rumor, the camera was absolutely hideous. We're getting there. At this pace, the rumors should have the camera render nailed by early summer.

I prefer the omni-camera approach...

Horrible rendering with zero computer skills. Basically took the current camera module, flipped it, and put it in the center.

Awful.

I'm not sure what my motivation will be to upgrade this year but 3 lenses is not it. If the photos are better that is fantastic but it's not on my current list of complaints. USB C would be nice to go with my iPad Pro but still not enough. Can't wait to see what they announce. I like new phones but its getting harder to update often.

The only thing I can see that would maybe push people is no more notch and a better price. For most people the cameras are good enough or they have a dedicated camera if they are photography buffs. If this is also limited to just the XS Max it will be met with consumer indifference.

All I want is a more basic iPhone, all aluminium with reasonable specs that is reasonably priced. Won’t happen though.

Ehh, no thank you! I personally think that is ugly as can be.

Also, as others have pointed out above me, the TrueDepth Camera System components are all at the top end of the phone, so I cannot see how they could fit the TrueDepth System along with components for the fairly advanced rear cameras!

Of course if “Sir Ive” retires and Apple products are allowed to get thicker to aid with the function of Apple devices that would help, but not in this situation.

This too is FUGLY!!! Don't get like Samsung Apple and start arbitrarily moving the Camera lens every year.

Interesting to see what they will be doing this year, but certainly will be squeezing more life out of my iPhone X (2017). Still has 95% battery health. Should carry me through 5 more iOS upgrades.

The design of this looks commodity like; its as if Apple is focusing on making it as affordable to make so maybe they can bring prices back in line with previous years. The $1000 smartphone came and went and was just a fad that has not only affected Apple but Samsung.

With a saturated market, you want to sell more of these, not less and $1000 does not do that. The rich who can surely afford it are not buying either. I have seen many celebrities and professionals still sporting 7’s and 6s.

I still have a faith Apple will continue using the same vertical camera placements, by just replacing the flash with the new lens and the flash will be a ring around the camera bump. I don't see a reason why they wouldn't opt for this.
