Fact 1: the bands are needed, otherwise they wouldn't be there.
Fact 2: the bands could never have exactly the same colour as the case because the materials are completely different.
Fact 3: bands with almost the same colour as the case would be a) very ugly and b) a dishonest design, trying to hide necessary elements (and failing at that). No designer of Ive's calibre would ever do a thing like that.

Result: the current design. You may not like it, but it is honest and unapologetic.

HTC has the bands and they look far better than the iphones. Care to speak to that?

Ever since I got my iPhone, all I here is a constant whining. Does android have that issue?

No, but we all hold Apple to the highest standards, because Steve Jobs repeatedly delivered when he was around. Now Apple has gone from an all out innovative company, to a company who plays it safe, and delivers a nice feature every once in a while.

Oops, hit a nerve there. Bring back pull out antennas. I bet, those antenna line will become mighty popular. I got good signal strength with my pull out antennas on flip phones.

That's not a camera, it's a pimple, just squeeze it.:D
Yes, nooooo......

Don't make me list all the things Steve delivered that flopped
That old Steve this, Steve that crap never did fly

The front is glass, put Ariel wires in the front glass.
maybe use whole back for cellular and put wifi in front glass.

then stop people moaning.

however myself I dont see an issue.
most people put phone in a case!

Yeah, right, open a whole new can of technological worms just to hide antenna bands that 99% of customers don't care about anyway …

The bands in the 2016 iPhone are much less "intrusive" anyway, so the "problem" will be almost solved. And the 2017 iPhone is supposed to have a glass back so our long international antenna band nightmare will finally be over …

Me, "LOL"

I'd say your in the minority there. Also, I don't want to see the way you dress....lol, jk.

Minority? How many 6/6s were sold and how many HTCs? :D

Look, the 6/6s is not my favourite iPhone design optically (it's still the 4/4s), but all the drama about how "ugly" the antenna bands (and camera bump) are is just way over the top. And haptically, the 6/6s is my favourite iPhone design.

Good thing people like you are not in charge at Apple. If you made a flagship phone that would be thick enough to have a flush state of the art camera, you couldn't give it away, much less sell it at a premium. There is a reason all the android flagships have camera bumps, too. Get used to it or buy a non-flagship with a rubbish camera; those are your only options.

Or buy a Galaxy S7.

When I take delivery of a new car, I always take a stone and throw it at the car. Putting the first ding in it upon delivery saves me from days or weeks of anxiety worrying about when that first chip or ding will happen.
I instead sell my cars after they get their first ding :D

No, Apple can correct their rubbish mistake and get back to pure design. "get a damn Android phone and stop whining" is just a way for you to dismiss my critique without adding any meaningful discussion.

Exactly, your critique is just that meaningless. If you don't like Apple's products, you have the freedom to go elsewhere. Whining about something so trivial is silly.

You offer nothing to this conversation except attacks and suggestions to "go elsewhere". My critique is entirely valid. This isn't trivial. If things start sliding here, then eventually Apple becomes just another Android device.

Protruding camera, antenna bands, the unresolved Apple design introduced with the iPhone 6/6s that looks as if the phone has been repaired with a welder or stuck back together with tape or glue. Rubbish, Apple. Shame on Apple for bringing an unresolved design into the world.

I need not say anymore.

Your "critique" is nothing more than your personal opinion, which you are entitled to
It doesn't speak for all of mankind, most of which aren't outraged over this design tragedy

Also, you just refuse to acknowledge that there are sound technological reasons for both the antenna bands and the camera hump. Design is not (only) how it looks, design is how it works. That was a Steve Jobs quote, by the way.

Do you like the gold, rose gold, silver, space grey etc? -- that is a personal opinion. This isn't personal opinion. This is a critique of the device's exterior side by side, evaluating each aspect. When I see something wrong, I speak up, I don't say Apple got it right when it hasn't.

"sound technological reasons for both the antenna bands and the camera hump."
Okay.
Hump, fits the camera (apparently). Can't shave off a mm inside the camera assembly? Can't increase the case width by a mm and fit extra battery?
Metal case needs antenna cut outs (apparently). Can't use a better more suitable material for the case? Why not use wood, with nails or a staple gun to hold it all together?
Apple got it 6/6s and by the looks of it 7 completely WRONG in terms of design.
Why on earth do people defend Apple when they get it wrong? The only way to get things back on track is to acknowledge the problem not say all is okay. People need to embrace high standards. Apple charges for high standards, it needs to deliver.

A critique is still a personal opinion. Nobody around here is the ultimate judge. And by the way you are entitled to your opinion.

I stand corrected, it isn't your personal opinion, it is your personal obsession

I get it, you don't like the bands
Most people just don't seem to be bothered with it enough to get out the pitchforks and torches to storm the castle

Personally, I prefer the 4 and 4s size and design
Others think the 6 and 6s are the greatest
Personal preference

"Most people" is fairly general.
I'm happy to compliment other aspects of the device, but the bands and the protruding camera are rubbish.
Yes, it's my personal obsession to get the design back to being pure.

[doublepost=1470942138][/doublepost]On a side note, I've been running a poll on iPhone design for several months, and there's a strong amount of support of 4/4s/5/5s/SE design. It seems many people here do not like 6/6s. Exactly what they don't like about it isn't entirely clear, but it might just be those awful antenna lines that repels users.
