I have the purple and its annoying. I was trying to do a google search about it but apparently most people like them. weird. im thinking about getting some new glasses

Antiglare coating on glasses (anyone else have issues with it?)

I got an anti-glare feature this time too, and regret it mostly because it does seem to attract grime. I fear I'll end up scratching the damn things since I wear them all the time, and the only way seems safe to clean them is to wash them and use the microfiber. That's not always convenient. Back in the day and using glasses with no coating i'd just give them a swipe now and then with a t-shirt edge, and only give them a wash in the morning. I sure do miss being able to be that casual about them. I might go back to clip-on sunglasses after this round, That's a different level of inconvenience but I didn't mind adapting to it before.
Don't anti-glare reduce light as well ? I like the need for them, but i personally wouldn't use get them because of this.
I do not believe I have gotten anti-glare. They have tried to upsell me on it for night time driving. I did get Transition lens with my latest pair of glasses. It is time to get a new one.
Transitions are pointless to me as they won't darken in a car the one place I want them to work.
That was my biggest complaint about them. I was told there were 2 different "shades" of Transitions, one more sensitive than the other. However, I was told the more sensitive ones start a little darker, I never took advantage of them.
Now I don't have that problem...
They make transition lenses that work in the car now. They start out with a slight tint to begin with. They work just fine as I have owned them.
The extra actives are supposed to get darker, but they also have a more natural tint to them.
If you machine wash and dry the cleaning cloths, do not use a fabric softener or they will smear.
I hate that purple tint on the lenses so I will not be getting the Prevencia AR on my next pair of eyeglasses. It just looks terrible.
That's not true if you go with a 1.91 high index lenses . Actually you can't get any thinner than that
What coating did you get and how long have you had them ? If you get 2 years out of coating consider yourself lucky
I HATE HATE HATE anti-glare after having Three sets of sun glasses made at vision works don't ask long story short they screwed up and my last set i got was two weeks ago were about a week after i got them I found that I just could not clean them all they did was smear and then I found a LOT of scratches went back to vision works that when they told me they put on anti-glare on this set I did not even know i had this it also was told that it was my fault because in rinsed them off with cool water and water destroyed the af coating told the manager I was not even told about this coating and I have all was used water to clean glasses BUT her refused to do any thing had to call corporate office and now they are making a FOUTH set of sun glasses with out anti glare i have found that 98 % have had nothing but problems with this coating right now i am using polarized spring side clip on sun glasses from haven i got at walmart for 12.95 and they work really well and none of thees problems I WILL NEVER USE ANIT GLARE AGIAN
Sounds like you got ripped off. Anti glare is not supposed to just wash off. I’d find a new place to get glasses.
That is how I feal had one set of sun glasses that I wanted in real glass had them for a week and the lens fell off on the right side went back to vision works and was told it was my fault because I wanted glass I told them no you did not install right I will never go back to vision works again this has been on going since march of 17

Most places won’t even do glass lenses anymore for safety reasons. And they are heavy. Go to a private place. Better quality than the big stores.
Yes that what I going to do next time I am an auto tec and in my job you have to use glass glasses

Wrong! I’m soooo careful with my top crizal coating and I’ve brought them back 4 times in a year.These are the worst glasses ever!scratch if you look at them wrong, and the constant need for cleaning! Sometimes I think I prefer when I couldn’t see properly . I had one lens that was perfect not a scratch .tried to tell The optometrist it’s funny how one lens scratches easily and the other not at all.now I have 2 that scratch easily,And apparently it’s my fault
Never again .Receptionist told me that the quality can vary depending on the technician said don’t be shy to bring them back ,optometrist not so easy going.
I noticed that last time I got them... they do work in the car. But I still can't stand them for being dirt magnets and requiring washing a couple times a day.
My crizal lenses with coatings never want to clean, all they do is smear and have smudges. No matter how much i clean them they just get worse! I guess i'll have to get new lenses and this time tell them not to get any coatings put on them anymore.
