Miami

Heh, actually my hatred isn't as strong for the Gators as some other schools. I actually liked Spurrier, and I kind of like Meyer. Spurrier at his peak was always good for some good quotes. I really don't like Free Shoes or Miami, though they aren't quite as bad as during their Thug U days.

Miami is going 2 actually do pretty good this year, that being said they do have a pretty tough schedule, but you all correct they are not as good as they were in the thug days. Devin Hester, Ed Reed,Warren Sapp.

why can't you all learn to drive a car, worst drivers in Tuscaloosa, cut me off while waiting to make a left from the left turn lane, yeah you just pull out in front of me from the opposite side of the road, like I'm not even there, then look at me when I lay on the horn, jack holes dumb rears...

Seems like the trash talking has calmed down a bit. Looks like I need to give this thread a bump!

Roll Tide Roll.........

Awww, gee, and the little children were sleeping so nice and quietly

Gotta be said, my two favorite teams in the land are the Florida Gators and whoever is playing Notre Dame!

How bout when USC plays Notre Dame?

Tsk, tsk, tsk... you know that nobody pays players with state money
Except USC of course ;)

C'mon Mac. Jealousy doesn't suit you very well.

I will put the Dawgs record and final BCS standing up against any team in the country over the past 9 years or so of the Mark Richt era

I'll take you up on that offer with the Pete Carroll era. And if you want to expand the timeline, we can go with all-time as well...

Hell, I'll even throw in their NFL draft picks for good measure

Sure, go ahead.

I went to both and USC has some really smart people they just aren't athletes.

And that's the difference between USC and Stanford right there...

Not that Stanford's scholarship athletes are at full academic parity with the rest of the student body, but they do better then any major D1 school.

Full academic parity? You must be joking. I don't care how many fluff pieces come out on the Cardinal every year on how their athletes are as smart as the rest of their student body, it's not true.

I'm pretty sure Alabama is still waiting on the whole internet thing to reach their state. :D

C'mon dmr. We all know you're a closet Trojan.

And if anyone is wondering who I want in the SEC? Tennessee. Lane Kiffin.

54 days until USC football. Tick-tock, college football world.

Big 12 is the only conference that knows how to play ball...

MWC is my conference though, gooooo RAMS!

Obviously, as evidenced by their winning 3 straight BCS titles.

Oh wait, that would be the SEC. Sorry about that. I believe Florida also beat a Big 12 team in that game. That high powered, record setting offense didn't so well against a real defense. The same thing happened with Texas Tech vs. Mississippi. (Though I was really rooting for the Raiders in that game.)

I still think Texas would have put up a better game in the BCS title game, and they got screwed. And, to bring this somewhat back to the thread title: I do fear the MWC, especially after whippin' they laid on Bama. That was entertaining to watch.

Nothing like waking the kiddies!

Now you've done it... and Badandy too!

I'll take you up on that offer with the Pete Carroll era. And if you want to expand the timeline, we can go with all-time as well...

And it would be comparable! I said I would put it up against any... not that it would supersede. Those two have unparalleled records during that time period. Urban Meyer (uggh) would fare well too, but after that there is a big drop off. My point was that the Dawgs under Richt may not have won the BCS Championship, but they have been competitive and done well over the long haul.

What a buffoon... seriously

Got this in an email today, and thought it was cute!

Dawg Pack Attacks Gator In Florida

At times nature can be cruel, but there is also a raw beauty, and even a certain justice manifested within that cruelty.

The alligator, one of the oldest and ultimate predators, normally considered the "apex predator", can still fall victim to implemented 'team work' strategy, made possible due to the tight knit social structure and "survival of the pack mentality" bred into the canines.

See the remarkable photograph below courtesy of Nature Magazine.

Note that the Alpha dawg has a muzzle hold on the gator preventing it from breathing, while another dawg has a hold on the tail to keep it from thrashing. The third dawg attacks the soft underbelly of the gator.

Not for the squeamish

Surely the ferocious alligator is the right way up (as evidenced by its clearly visible eye), so the intrepid dawg is using his or indeed her sharp little teeth to penetrate the scaly back of the beast, rather than the underbelly?

Just saying, like.

OK, I figured I would post this here instead of starting a new thread. Do any of you SEC fans around here know the full details on the new SEC/ESPN broadcast package? I've seen reports where it's spread out among the various ESPN networks, Fox Sports South, and CSS. The thing is, I don't currently have any TV service, and I am trying to decide between Comcast cable and DirectTV. I went without last year, and it drove me crazy, so I decided I will break down and have some service this fall.

Anyway, Comcast has CSS, but doesn't have ESPNU. DirecTV has all the ESPN networks (except Classic, unless you get the sports pack), but doesn't have CSS. I have read where all SEC home games will be televised, but obviously, the lower tier games will be on the lower tier networks like CSS and Fox SS. Oh yeah, and ESPN also seems to consider ESPN360.com and their GamePlan package as televised. After my experience with ESPN360, I really hope we don't have many games there. ESPN: The World Wide Leader in Suck.

Anyway, does anybody have info on the actual deal? I've seen all kinds of info, but nothing concrete.

I think this guy is drunk or something? Drunk typing anyone?

Anyways, I grew up with the Bear "looking down on me." Well, he hung in a frame in the living room at least.

For some reason I moved up to Cincinnati for a little change for a bit and this thread is really making me feel homesick. Hopefully I'll get to sing a little "Yeah Alabama!" this year or "Hey Auburn, we just beat tha HELL OUT OF YOU!" thanks to espn picking up so many sec games.

Oh, I miss Finebaum too. God, what am I doing up here.

And for the person who thinks people in Bama can't drive, come to Oh. These people have no respect. I truly understand now what everyone means when they say people in the south have, "southern hospitality."

ROLL TIDE ROLL!

Actually, they will be on all the ESPN networks, including ESPNU and Classic. And of course, right after I ask about that, they issue a press release detailing local broadcasts. Check out this list for a station near you for the early broadcasts that are taking the place of the JP/Lincoln Financial/Raycom game of the week. I still haven't seen a confirmation on the Fox SS and CSS, though. I ended up going with Direct TV, since they have everything except the CSS and they are a lot cheaper.

Sorry to Hijack

Hey,

Sorry to be off topic, but I'm trying to find MacRumors football fans who might be interested in participating in a NFL fantasy league this next season. Our European brethren on here have a pretty active Eurpoean football fantasy league and I thought it would be fun if we did one too. If any of you die hard college fans are into the NFL as well and have an interest then please let me know. Just send me a PM.
