Will you explain how you are over rated if you have won the past 3 national championships?

Winning the last 3 national championships doesn't preclude being over-rated, especially with the non-playoff system we have now. There's a reason USC wants to schedule games against Florida every year and there's a reason why Florida doesn't accept. It's much easier to claim at the end of the year that "We beat up on each other, we're all incredible teams" than losing handily to a far superior team before conference play.

I thought Lance Bass was gay??

;):p

Wow really? I think that was a little bit over the top dont you think? Actually I think Lance Bass is hot.. and I know my husband favors him, but honestly, I like to think that Lance Bass looks like my husband.. :D

Watch Nick Saban quit like he does with every other team he's coached.

(keeps stirring)

Speaking as a fan of a team that has to play said team every year, I sincerely hope Saban does leave soon. He's too freaking good. Alabama should also re-hire Mike Shula when he does leave. Or maybe Mike DuBose. (Who is actually coaching a DIII school here in MS, and led them to their best record ever last year.)

Badandy

Of course being a die hard fan.. I am sure you went to all the home games back when Frank was coaching.. ohh those years had to suck. Don't worry, I have seen it with the two teams I follow to.

I'm too young to have been a die-hard fan during those years...fortunately.

So they can over-come losing to Oregon State or Stanford?

Firstly, Oregon State was good, Jacquizz Rodgers is really impressive. We obviously should have won, but that wasn't as big of an upset as everyone thought. Stanford is a different story as Pete made a huge coaching mistake. Our quarterback broke his middle finger on his throwing hand in the 2nd quarter and proceeded to throw 4 touchdowns or something in between wobbly throws. He should have taken him out.

The point is that we offer to play teams that talk a big game but won't back it up on the field my accepting our offer. I have to hand it to Ohio State, at least they gave it a shot.

Who do you go for?

Nick Saban quit for a better job, when he was DONE rebuilding. He won't quit until at least 1 nation championship

Doesn't matter anymore, especially considering I'm staring at my Rose Bowl tickets from the last 3 years, which all resulted in wins for USC. Life is good. Who's your team?

How about you try to get to the National Championship and not the rose bowl

I think you USC fans have other things to worry about than coming and trashing our thread, esp calling people rednecks. Apparently you guys are in under the microscope bc your kicking consultant hired apparently offered coaching advice at practice. Hmm, I guess Petey isn't all brains after all.

By the way, how did you USC fans find your way in here? Did you think this was a discussion about the sec and you maybe thought your initials would grant you admission because it is part of a real conference?:D Yeah, as much as I disliked Florida forever, I pull for USC all the time now. Wouldn't it be something to see Spurrier do something with them.

I can certainly appreciate your passion for your team, that's what keeps us Bama fans together through the hard times, but when you start attacking people's personal attributes like looks and such, that is crossing the line just a bit. For one you don't know the person and the word or phrase you are calling them, is maybe what you are deep down inside and not them.

I guess what I'm saying, you shouldn't be so quick to judge.

For real, During Shula era and many other eras we werent good but we re-built and now were climbing the mountain to the top of college football.

Much has been written about the unique personality of USC Trojans head coach Pete Carroll. We know he takes walks through the ghetto in the middle of the night, hands out his cell phone number to random people on the street, and believes in the power of Twitter and positive thinking in order to WIN FOREVER. He’s an unorthodox man whose smile can brighten up all of southern California and whose personality is powerful enough to build a college football powerhouse.

But one thing Pete Carroll cannot do is hire “consultants” to circumvent NCAA limitations on coaching hires. This, however, is exactly what the NCAA alleges that he did last season when he hired veteran NFL coach Pete Rodriguez to “consult” his special teams units and report back to the head coach. That, not coincidentally, is exactly what a coach does. And it’s why they’re in a bit of a pickle.

The restrictions are in place as an attempt to level the playing field in college, a quaint and somewhat laughable notion. The idea is that limiting all schools to the same number of coaches will prevent wealthy programs like USC from hiring eleventy billion high-priced coaches to recruit around the clock and WIN FOREVER. USC, naturally, denied any wrongdoing according to the LOS ANGELES TIMES:

“This is something that we have gone through all the proper channels a long time ago to make sure that we were doing the right thing and all that,” Carroll said at Pacific 10 Conference media day. “We’ve documented it.”

Carroll declined to specify what Rodriguez did in his role, but said the former NFL coach was within the parameters of NCAA rules.

“We stuck with what we [how] understood it and interpret it,” Carroll said. “We tried to do everything exactly the right way.”

Carroll confirmed that Alex Gibbs and other coaches with NFL experience have served as consultants during his tenure at USC, but he declined to name them.

But NCAA investigator J. Brent Clark disagrees, USC gets another little black mark in the NCAA’s neverending investigation, and life continues as usual. Why shouldn’t a team be able to bring in whoever they want in an effort to improve? Colleges bring in consultants and special position coaches all the time to work with players one-on-one, and it’s perfectly within the NCAA’s guidelines. But put that former NFL coach at an official team practice and it’s illegal? We don’t usually miss an opportunity to kick USC athletics down a notch whenever possible, but this is just another example of the NCAA’s obsolescence.

I never called anyone a redneck. Which USC fan did?

Considering we're more successful than your team, it's alright.

I never said anything like that.

Why did you stop at 3? What happened in the 4th year?

Fouth year is this coming year. The only way people can make fun of us is if we don't win the National Championship, that's fine with me. At least we have a shot at it every year.
