The max people want to buy my phone is 375-400. Extending the contract to get a white one will run me 480 after taxes. I might as well wait for someone to put theirs up on craigslist and offer $100 cash haha.

I'm currently on AT&T and plan to switch to Verizon tomorrow to get locked into the unlimited data plan. I've got a buyer on Craigslist who is going to pay me enough for my iPhone 4 that it will cover my ETF and the cost for the new phone.

I think that I'm going to pick up the white version simply for the resale value down the road. I expect that you will be able to sell these at a premium seeing as how there will be a limited number available.

The white will also have a warranty that will go longer than those who bought their iPhone 4s when they first came out. Personally I don't want the white but that was just a thought for others reselling in the future.

Yep selling the black iPhone 4 to fund the white iPhone 4 here.

As I'm sure is the case for anyone who is doing the same - this is purely out of desire, there's no real logic in it. I've wanted the white from day 1 and I am willing to pay the difference between the sale price of the black and the retail price of the white.

Nevertheless, as someone who has sold quite a few iPhones on ebay I can tell you the white maintains its value better than the black (which will become relevant shortly before the Iphone 5 comes out).

Also, as is stated above, we will get a fresh 12 months warranty obvs when purchasing the white (which again will add value to the phone when it comes to the time to sell before the iP5 comes out).

Really thinking about it. Would have to sell iPhone 4 first, but I'm not sure the extra cash purely for the white (as much as I want it) is worth it.

I sold my black one and am waiting in front of the store. I am still the only one here for the iPhone, with 10 others here for iPads. The manager said they start selling them at 10, and they have a good amount of each carrier and storage.

How much did you nab for yours? eBay?

i really wanted white, but wasn't willing to wait this long. I have enough money for one, but there's a lot of things that money could be better used for, and getting apple's newest products isn't one of those.

At this point, it really isn't worth it. I'm sure I'll check it out if I'm at an Apple store, but I just sold my 16GB for a 32GB since I needed more memory. It's too much of a hassle IMO.

Wife is replacing her black iPhone 4.

Kid needs a phone (so she says, the wife not the kid) so we get a new line and the white iPhone at $199. Kid wants this Samsung AT&T phone that is $79 without a two year commitment. So we buy both phones, transfer new number to Samsung, wife's number to the white iphone, sell her black one on eBay and come out, probably with some extra cash to eat out. Not to shabby. AND.... adding the kid to the family plan on a "dumb" phone is $10 a month.

WIN. WIN. WIN.

Anyone know if you have a FAN discount if that still makes it a problem purchasing a phone at the apple store?

Just checked it out in the store and I'm not sure if I want it anymore. It seems to have a yellow tinge to it, rather than being pure white. Kind of bothers me.

Thats the way the white iPad 2 looks to me depending on the light.

Thanks for the heads up. This is the exact reason I wanted to check the phone out in person prior to making a decision on if I wanted to purchase it or not.

I figured it might be the lighting. I'm sitting in the mall trying to decide what to do.

I won't be, I'm more than happy with my Black iPhone 4, however the white ones do look very nice.

Just pick one up an hour ago. I like it. :)

As for the color, I just put it next to a piece of white paper… looks white to me.

Does it look off-white or pure white in incandescent lighting?
