1. That's apparently your opinion. Having a background in wireless my opinion is that you are wrong. Besides, I can count the number of times on one hand I've used voice and data at the same time. VOIP will override all of that anyway. It is pretty commonly accepted that AT&T has the better network. You seem to be one of the few that don't get that.

2. SO? Not sure how Apple would even care about that. It would be completely offset by the additional sales made on Verizon. This would not affect Apple sales any differently than Google existing on T-Mobile and Verizon today.

3. Business is business. If anything, it's a way to shut Verizon up.

Your final point....the European market has already proved otherwise. Someone on MR has already shown that costs went down in countries where competing providers sell the iPhone.

Say no all you want. You'll eventually be proven wrong.

LMAO!!! Eventually? That could be a decade from now...Apple is not hurt by not being on Verizon's network...

There are plenty of Verizon phones with a SIM card slot.

So, while it's doubtful that it also supports CDMA, the presence of a SIM slot (of any size) is not proof that it doesn't.

I wonder if Gizmodo took down any chip numbers. They seem to have done no real technical investigation at all.

Yes, but that's for the GSM section of their phones when roaming, not for CDMA transmission... comon now, not even trying.

True that. However, we must take all facts into careful acknowledgment.

And the fact is Apple heavily promotes the iPhone as being able to "do all this while I'm on a call, sometimes even 2 calls". I just can't believe they'd go to a network that doesn't support this.

They could widen their OS market share by allowing people to run OS X on any Intel box out there, but they don't do that, because they like to control things and make them the best they can.

So, eventually? sure. But not until Verizon gets LTE widely deployed, at the very least.

Again...your opinion based on your interpretaton of the information at hand. And my opinion of the same information is there's a possibility that Apple might develop a CDMA phone and release it on Verizon. I won't place any bets on it happening this year but I believe it might be this year and it would be mid 2011 at the latest (if AT&T extended their contract)....LTE or not.

Or 2012 December 21 :D

Playing the 'you opinion card' on a fact? Plain argument destroyer.

He is right, just see the very first ads for the iPhone 3G. The latest ads even emphasize the fact that you watch or do something on the internet over a call. That is a FACT, not opinion.

Also, Apple controlling where OS X goes, thats another fact. That they are doing the same thing in iPhone OS, that's another fact. Only the iPhone runs the iPhone OS.

On LTE? Another fact. LTE can do what Verizon has been lacking. So at that point its a fact that Apple will consider Verizon to broaden themselves.

However, a personal opinion here is that T-Mobile will get it before Verizon. They have the network, they have the cheapest plans (besides Sprint) and they are going for crazy 21 Mb/s 3G speeds.

FACT = Apple advertises simultaneous voice & data
FACT = CDMA doesn't support simultaneous voice & data
FACT = No CDMA iPhone has been released to market
FACT = I don't know when or if a CDMA iPhone will be released
FACT = You don't know when or if a CDMA iPhone will be released

This forum is full of conjecture. You believe a CDMA iPhone will never exist. I believe a CDMA iPhone is a possibility.

Unless you are Steve Jobs, nothing you say here is more than an educated guess. Do you think Steve is lurking in the MR forum? Hmmmm....

I agree.
Tmobile has alot better chances getting an iphone than Sprint or Verizon.
All Apple needs to do is include a chip that supports Tmobiles 3G and then guess what? Talk and surf at the same time unlike any CDMA phone:D

Yeah, cuz well all talk and surf ALL the time.

I used to be on Verizon and I was so frustrated over a feature I REALLY thought I needed.

I would be FIRST in line to give up simultaneous voice & data to be back on Verizon's network...with an iPhone.

Edit: But it seemingly would be easier to put an iPhone on T-Mobile....but I think T-Mobiles network would quickly drown. Having the lowest rates and adding the iPhone, they would be inundated. I think Apple knows this and their next partnership in the US will be with the strongest player....Verizon.

Not even that. Say Apple doesn't want 21 Mb/s speeds on the iPhone just yet and they stick to 7.2Mb/s. All they have to do is call up Infineon and tell them to make the X-Gold 608 transmit over T-Mobile's frequencies.

Voilá! Same chip, just different frequencies.

Just because you dont it doesnt mean others dont:rolleyes:
I have to do it during work daily.
Apple will not be advertising a feature about their product and then turn around and sell an inferior version of it on a network that cant support that feature.
I dont think Tmobile will drown if it got an iphone officially. They have tons of other smartphones on their network and even though they're not up to Verizons or AT&T level they manage fine.

Just because you do doesn't mean a majority of the iPhone users do. I'd bet most users don't even know about it....despite the commercial.

This isn't even one of the iPhone's biggest draws! It's just not a big deal for the average user. Only the most techie users even care about it (until they've had it on AT&T and realized it's not all it's cracked up to be.)

And sorry, I don't buy that because it's missing one feature, it's inferior. And many have speculated that if Verizon get's an iPhone, it will be differentiated in some way.

T-Mobile does NOT have tons of other smartphones. They have several models available, but they do not have the user subscription base. They will not be able to handle the flood of new subscribers (just like AT&T couldn't.)

Your opinion is not shared amongst the masses....only people that ever say voice and data aren't important are people that dont have access to that feature or people that haven't used it long....it's a great feature...I love being able to use The map application while I'm on the phone getting details about my destination...I love chatting on the phone with my GF, while IMing my mistress...using data while on the phone is an extremely valuable feature
