same here... hip hop is my big 1, but also got reggae, r & b, rock, country (eww, wifes music), house/dance, and kids.

Just about everything in there :D

Anyone heard MF Dooms (DOOM) new album called Born Like This, it's awesome stuff. On the other side of things Jadakiss new album is wacker than wack!!

Thats cool. I have a bunch of Latin, not enough Hip Hop, r&b, not enough reggae, rap.....You could never have too much hip hop I think. I'm working on my collection now. I still play a lot of stuff from Rawkus.

Its hard to find good music these days. I think at least. Music with the perfect balance of beats and lyrics.

Kid Cudi
Lupe
The Cool Kids
Kanye
Big Sean
A Tribe Called Quest
Clipse
Mickey Factz

Some of my favorites.

I gotta be honest, I'm not feeling it at all. I like a lot of his other stuff but Born Like This is super weird and there really aren't any tracks I like.

I haven't been keeping up with new age rap because basically it sucks but I'm still "rockin" the old school stuff.

De La Soul: Stakes is High
The Notorious BIG: Life After Death
Nas: Stillmatic
Ghostface Killa - Fish Scale & More Fish

New Stuff:

Kid Cudi - Day N Night
Common - Finding Fovever

Bless

i bumped into de la soul today on Carnaby St. in Central London. i think they were gonna be playing down there (i ambushed them looking at trainers in a shop window) i got the iPhone out and got a pic with them. I don't ride nuts, but they're *REAL* hip-hop:cool:

A few of my fave hip-hop albums right now are Ear Drum by Talib Kweli, Time Line by Nicolay and Kay, and The Cool by Lupe Fiasco. All have awesome production and all actually have something to say.

Independent Lens had a good show on hip hop this week. It's really sad to see what has happened to it. There used to be a point and time when it was all about thought and observations. Now it's about ass, 22" rims, and wordplays with no point. You really have to sift through the tons of garbage (many are in the top 50) just to find the real art. I hope that hip hop really falls so it can get back to its roots.

Haven't posted in here in a while.

Been listening to Murs, MF DOOM (and all of his crazy aliases:p) Heriuspecs & Atmosphere a lot.

Any MF recommendations?

Just thought i'd post a notice to hip-hop headz in London (if they didn't know already) that The Roots are playing at the southbank centre on the 13th June. I've got my tickets and will be there. Since becoming house band for Jimmy Fallon they're not touring "for the foreseeable future" Also with the new album out next month, should hear some of the new material there too.
