They do, but it sucks. Android fans agree too. I can't even remember how many discussions I saw on multiple Android forums, about how much the music app needed a revamp. And I owned 3 Android phones so I can attest to that too.
Oh I agree the Android music App stock leaves a lot to be desired but it does ok. Personally I used double twist if I am not streaming music from pandra or from one of my cloud drives (Google or Amazon)
Double twist is no iPod but for what I use it for it does just fine. That is choose play list, hit play with head phones in and work on what ever I am working on. Not like the pretty eye candy interface matters as much from me it works great so not the end of the world.

I have a question, but what's the issue with Netflix for android???
Perhaps someone could explain this to me, but isn't there an app in the marketplace? And if not, why?!

It depends on the phone model. Netflix is slowly adding phones to the approved list. That being said the XDA devs got around the problem and there is an APK from them you can download and install that removes the check so it works on any phone

This is a misunderstood issue that is way overblown. It's being resolved and within days there will be one app for all. Non Android users fail to realize it had nothing to do with the handsets but simply the earlier version 2.1.

Since the majority of phones currently run 2.1 or 2.2, this fix will take care of all.

:confused:Sorry if this is an obvious question, but I thought those phones had a mp3 player? Am I imagining things?

oh no the droid x was most certainly capable of holding and playing MP3s, i just was missing the smoothness of iOS, so i filled that void with my ipod touch. the mp3 player on the droid x was clunky and buggy imo

I've had iPhones for quite some time now and just recently made the switch. I felt it was time for a change.

I'm loving my Atrix 4G and can't wait to get my hands on the Galaxy S2.

There's no looking back for me.

A buddy of mine has the HTC Desire HD and while it's a nice phone, I think that it would eat battery really quickly. Browsing the internet on it is some nice though, although the phone is practically a tablet.

i have desire HD too, while watching movie is nice on it, browsing is not.

even with bigger screen, i have to zoom in to read small text because of lower resolution compared to the iPhone 4. and browsing performance is better on the iPhone 4 too, feels smoother to scroll, pinch etc.

Ive switched and it's had its tradeoffs. The major one being app selection.
Both OS's have their flaws and their benefits. For the tinkerer, Android is where its at. For the app whore, iOS is where its at.

But to be honest I think as far as OS's go, Windows Phone with Mango will be the best. You get the best of both worlds as far as stability, fluidity, and ecosystem. Add on the amazing UI and Im sold. The worst part about Android is syncing music is a pain in the ass.

After my 3GS I switched to an HTC Desire because I wanted a change. Switched straight back after 6 months...

Considering an HTC Sensation next, but will always have an iPhone as well.

Use both an ip4 and s2. S2 IMO is a better phone. Android does need better hardware cos it does a lot more so naturally will need better specs. Just like an iPhone needs better hardware than am old Nokia cos the iPhone does a lot more than an old dumbphone.

No. Android phones needs better hardware/modifications because the OS was made poorly and it lacks graphics acceleration.

Yes. I really like my droid x. If iPhone steps up there game enough with the next iPhone I might be back. I am due of an upgrade now and just waiting to see what all is brought to the table.

Well I currently have the SGS2, best phone period. I also have an IP4 and it's also a great phone, just a little pale in comparison though. If browsing and messaging are your thing, then a phone like the SGS2 is for you. But it can do anything else with ease as well. It's just that the browsing and messaging are two things that can be compared back to back if you really want to. If you do decide to go Android, don't get a bottom of the pile or midpack model. It would be ridiculous to make any iOS vs Android comparison when your not using comparable devices. So the best from iOS should be compared to the best from Android. So currently in my opinion that would be SGS2 Vs IP4. I really don't understand how people use the "its more intuitive" argument with iOS. Both operating systems are simple to use. You need to be a real idiot not to be able to use any OS these days. Even if you're used to one OS, getting used to another OS is simple. The problem is, people get used to using one OS and think it's "intuitive" only because when they try another OS, it doesn't do what hey are "used to." So basically with these simpletons, "intuitive" simply means "used to." Desktop or Mobile.

Had an iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4, and an iPad.
Sold them for a Xoom and a Nexus S. Gotta say, the freedom is quite nice. 2 years of BS restrictions is quite enough, thank you very much.

I owned & used a 3GS for 9 months but became frustrated at the lack of 'freedom' with the iPhone. I sold it and bought an Android HTC Desire HD. This has been working fine for nearly 7 months now and I've been pleased with it. I bought my wife an iPhone 4 for her birthday and enjoy using it as it is just so easy and straight forward. With the Android there are so many menus/sub menus that it can get confusing. The HTC is set up just as I want it and does the job very well. Can't help but to look forward to the upcoming iPhone model as I think I'm turning into a bit of an Apple fanboy with my 2011 iMac & new iPad 2. Just need the Apple TV 2 & new iPhone to complete my collection!! :)

Not to hijack your thread but here's my dilemma...I carry two phones, my personal iPhone4 and for work I carry a verizon blackberry....I now have the opportunity to upgrade my work phone and as much as I love my iPhone I don't see the point on carrying two of them, so I've been thinking about getting an android just for kicks, but seems like there are so many brand/model combinations that I have no idea what to get, any suggestions from the Verizon lineup? (I don't care huge screens)

If your work pays for your phone bill (for your work phone), you should get another iPhone, sell your current iPhone, and port your personal number to a free Google Voice account, and then forward calls to GV to your work phone. Why? So you still keep an iPhone, and you can basically stop paying for cell service!

Otherwise, if youre really interested in a new android phone, try getting one that supports 4G/LTE. You dont want to get locked in a new contract and be stuck on 3G data. I dont know which 4G/LTE android phones are good, but check out PhoneArena's site.

I would stick with the blackberry, android email is awful. iPhone mail is loads better in my opinion as well one of the things i miss the most and hate on my SGS2.

Went from a 3GS to HTC Desire.

Was in awe initially but that soon turned to disappointment.

Disappointment that every 2nd market place app installed performed like an undercooked beta, disappointment that the multitude of apps the device shipped with were in fact bloatware and mostly unnecessary. Disappointment at the stuttery, laggy scrolling, disappointment at the poor battery life, disappointment at the lack of any intrinsic build quality...

The iPhone by comparison is measured, refined, the epitome of class and a study in ergonomic perfection. The best hardware money can buy coupled with the finest user interface ever created!!

Droid

Hey guys,

I've had an iPhone since day 1 of the first generation, same with the iPad. Although I love iOS I'd like to try Android for a while as a change.

I'm about to get a Nexus S, have any other iPhone lovers here switched to Android? For what reason? How are you finding it?

I'm also keen to get some impressions on the actual Nexus S device as well as Android in general.

Not in my wildest nightmares

I switched from an AT&T iPhone 4 to a Verizon 4G LTE Thunderbolt so I could secure unlimited 4G data before July 7th. At first I didn't think I'd be all that happy with the Android platform but I decided to suck it up because I really wanted the 4G LTE. I've had the phone for a little while now and absolutely love it!

The 4.3" screen is amazing! Sure the pixel density isn't as high as the iPhone 4 but the amount of space you have on this screen makes up for it. Looking at my sister’s iPhone 4 gets frustrating because the screen feels so small and cramped. The 4.3" screen obviously makes the phone bigger but I haven't really noticed a difference carrying it in my pocket and I got use to the size difference quickly. HTC makes nice hardware that doesn't feel cheap at all.

Widgets and customization are fantastic. I really feel that widgets are a must on any phone I'm going to own from now on. I think Apple dropped the ball with iOS 5 not adding widgets to the home screen. I love being able to customize my phone in so many different ways instead of being stuck with a grid of icons and a wallpaper I can change. If you're into jailbreaking on iPhone like I was you'll absolutely love what you can do on Android.

The 4 buttons on the bottom of the phone add so much functionality and allow for even more screen realty with the menu and back buttons not taking up space on the screen. One button looks more aesthetically pleasing but in this case function wins over form.

Now, I'm not trolling, I still think Apple makes great hardware and has a very clean and easy to use OS. There are little things that I miss from iOS but overall Android is a better OS for me.

Stay with the iPhone. I just tried the MOTO D3 and it is a nice phone but it is no iPhone. I only got about 5-6 hours of very light use out of it. So I ran back to my computer and turned my iPhone back on. IMHO the iPhone is the best phone on the market today. With the upcoming OS5, it will be even better. It is a workhorse and just works for me.

One word...ROM

One word...ROM

ROMs used to give me tons of problems (even Cyanogenmod!) and some people don't want to have to modify their devices. Especially if it takes more work (for example, my Inspire 4G took foreve to root when I got it and I had to be taught how, because of all the hidden problems there were in the process) I don't know if there's simpler methods nowadays, but still.

That's what Android is... Android users buy a phone, mod/tweak/fix/root it constantly, then a new phone comes out and they buy that and mod/tweak/fix/root...

Quite simply there is nothing like the iPhone.

An Android phones update lifetime is also very, very short, unless of course you're willing to... mod/tweak/fix/root.

I switched to Android back in Feb just because I was bored with the iphone & it's lack of customization. I know I could of jailbroke it but just seemed like a hassle.

Android is a great system but it's not as smooth as iOS. As soon as they come out with IP5 i'll probably switch back. One thing I'll miss are the widgets... lol. Apple is sometimes slow to release basics

Just something you have to experience yourself so YOU can see the difference from using both phones on a everyday basis. I read a ton of reviews but it still left me with that curiosity.
