Owned iPhone 3GS and 4, switched five weeks ago to SGS 2.
Really enjoy it, no regrets - cant imagine going back to IOS.

Feels like i could escape scientology;).

Bye bye Steve.

I switched today and already miss my iPhone!

I switched from my iPhone 3Gs to Android today thinking it was time for a change. Plus, I figured AT&T is going to become a monopoly and figured I'd try Sprint. They have such a great deal on their plan/data/price offering.

I got the HTC Evo 3D. Pretty cool phone, lots of features, nice screen, and mega fast. After tinkering with the OS for a few hours, downloading, uploading, reading, testing, I quickly realized how much I miss my iPhone! "Don't know what you got til it's gone..." The expression rings true for me today.

Android has some great features but I think the functionality, usefulness, and clean interface of iOS outweigh Android. I think I will be switching back before my 30 day trial with Sprint is over. I might have to port my # to a pay-as-you go deal and simply wait for the iPhone 5.

Sprint, however, provided excellent customer service and made it a seamless experience. I was happy.

I've been using iOS in England, and bought a Galaxy S in Korea last summer.

Prefer iOS. It's nice to fiddle around with Android and stuff, but my phone lags and applications crash and what have you, and lag on a phone is the one thing I detest above all others :(

Thought about buying a SGII or a HTC Sensation this Summer, but am just going to wait for Ice Cream Sandwich.

I was a iPhone 3G user on AT&T till Verizon said they were ending their unlimited data plans and I was going to get a iPhone but ended up getting a HTC thunderbolt. The battery life is not as good but I am liking the device and android is not that bad.

I switched from an AT&T iPhone 4 to a Verizon 4G LTE Thunderbolt so I could secure unlimited 4G data before July 7th. At first I didn't think I'd be all that happy with the Android platform but I decided to suck it up because I really wanted the 4G LTE. I've had the phone for a little while now and absolutely love it!

The 4.3" screen is amazing! Sure the pixel density isn't as high as the iPhone 4 but the amount of space you have on this screen makes up for it. Looking at my sister’s iPhone 4 gets frustrating because the screen feels so small and cramped. The 4.3" screen obviously makes the phone bigger but I haven't really noticed a difference carrying it in my pocket and I got use to the size difference quickly. HTC makes nice hardware that doesn't feel cheap at all.

Widgets and customization are fantastic. I really feel that widgets are a must on any phone I'm going to own from now on. I think Apple dropped the ball with iOS 5 not adding widgets to the home screen. I love being able to customize my phone in so many different ways instead of being stuck with a grid of icons and a wallpaper I can change. If you're into jailbreaking on iPhone like I was you'll absolutely love what you can do on Android.

The 4 buttons on the bottom of the phone add so much functionality and allow for even more screen realty with the menu and back buttons not taking up space on the screen. One button looks more aesthetically pleasing but in this case function wins over form.

Now, I'm not trolling, I still think Apple makes great hardware and has a very clean and easy to use OS. There are little things that I miss from iOS but overall Android is a better OS for me.

I switched for the same reason and I love those speeds on Verizon 4G and the thunderbolt is a solid phone.

I personally don't have a desire for LTE or WiMax. The battery life for both is god awful and while they might be very fast I can't think of any task on a phone that I would need that much speed for such a huge sacrifice in battery life.

try watching sling box or Netflix on 3g its ok but on 4g its fast.

I have a question to Android users.

If my phone is running 2.2 or 2.3 (i.e. a Galaxy S or a GSII), will Ice Cream Sandwich be a simple and compatible update?

I had an original iPhone and a 3G, both unlocked on T-mobile. I got tired of edge data speeds, so I picked up a Nexus One. I loved that phone, but when I heard Verizon was ending unlimited data and that I got a 20% discount through work, I picked up an iPhone 4 and couldn't be happier to be back. I was really happy with my android phone until I started playing with my dad's brand new iPod touch. That got me missing iOS.

Depends on if/when your carrier decides to release an update. It's because of that reason the only Android phone I would ever own would be a Nexus phone. They get ALL of the updates straight from Google, providing their hardware still supports it.

I moved on, to Android couple years ago. Had the first iPhone and the 3G, at first launch they were the coolest phones on this planet, like from StarTrek...

Them the Nexus-One came out, and I haven't been back. Went to the EVO 4G, and now the 3VO, and loving it. End of this year I will keep am open mind and choose between the upcoming Nexus-Prime or iPhone5

Thanks for the clarification. I was toying with the idea of getting a GSII, but this pushed me over the edge to wait for the Nexus Prime and Ice Cream Sandwich.

I'm going to buy the new iPhone when it comes out and dump my Android phone. I'll pay the ETF and sell my Droid Incredible to gain back the money and sell my iPod touch to pay for most of the phone most likely. My Droid decided today I didn't need my text messages anymore so it deleted all of them. That's like the 4th time it's done that and I'm really annoyed by it now.

I switched to Motorola Atrix 4G and I am very happy with my decision. I like the iPod music player better, but otherwise I lover customizations available on Droid. I am running a custom ROM(GingerBlur) and a custom launcher (Go Launcher EX) with a lot choices as far themes go that much easier to implement than a jailbroken iPhone. Not to mention Android notification system blows iOS away.

If the hardware can handle it, you can bet XDA will release custom 4.0 ROMs. Afterall, the original G1 can still run 2.3 gingerbread custom ROMs and that phone is like 4 years old.

No. Android phones needs better hardware/modifications because the OS was made poorly and it lacks graphics acceleration.

They need better hardware because they do a lot more.. Kinda like how the iPhone needs better hardware than the Nokia 8210 cos it does a lot more.
