Your best bet is to check your local Apple Store's online Personal Pickup options daily. You order through the website and pick the phone up in store. It will say "Available Today" but you still have to order online, because the phone can't be purchased just by walking in. Yes, it's weird, but that's the way it works.

I'm wondering what error message other people are getting.
I've been trying to snag T-mobile/unlocked 6+ for days using istocknow.com website. I get "An error has occurred. Please try again later" message at the last step of the checkout process for store pickup. I work 'till midnight and am up 'till early morning hours, so I do see them show up in-stock (except weekends, which seem totally dry for 6+). I'm always at the computer and have all my login and credit card info saved in my browser. Yet I never luck out. Usually I'm already at apple.com and have things ready to go before I even get an alert from istcoknow.com.
Making me wonder if I've been staying awake at all hours for nothing and inventory that show up on istocknow.com isn't meant to be sold (some sort of internal Apple procedure?).

Is it true that the TMobile version at the Apple store is truly an unlocked phone? That's what I've been seeing and wasn't totally sure. I ask because on 10/8 I ordered the 64GB iPhone 6 Silver through T-Mobile. The rep lied and told me a week for delivery. Of course, a week later I received an email stating it is backordered until 11/20, then another that changed it to 10/24 and then another putting it back to 11/20. Like many, I'm not amused and am thinking of just getting a 128 either through TMobile or unlocked through Apple.

This might sound rude, I don't mean to be, but: How many people need to post that it is unlocked before you'll be sure they're telling the truth?
I received my iphone6 ordered from Apple.com as T-Mobile/fullprice on Tuesday. Opened box, removed my AT&T SIM from my 5S, put it in the iphone6, powered up, set up phone as new, all good.

I have heard conflicting stories about buying unlocked from T-mobile directly. My understanding was (I might be wrong) that if you bought one from T-mobile it was locked, if you bought T-mobile version from Apple store at full price, it's unlocked.
I mentioned this in another store pickup thread:
There was a huge dump of 128GB Verizon Space Grey 6+'s in the Los Angeles area today. The only issue was when the in-store pickup showed available, it ran me through the whole purchase process, just to error out on the last step and the store goes to unavailable. Less than an hour later the store goes back to available again. Can I buy? Hell no.
It did this at least 10 times to me today on three different computers for three different stores.
And as I hop from one to another, they all sell out the same way.
Bummer, I guess I'll just wait until next year.

16GB and 128GB 6+ starting to appear at local Apple stores in my area
No 64GB 6+ though
The 64GB has taken the place of the 32GB. That phone was always available in lower quantities than the 16 or the 64 at prior launches.

Thanks for all your replies, everyone! I finally got one today at Soho store when walking in without much of hope. But there's a line and they do have 6+ in grey in 128G available! They don't have 64G in any 6+ model though, but 16G and 128G.
For those of you who are interested, I was told by rep. at 5th ave store to line up tomorrow there by 6am. They will have shipments tomorrow.

Walnut Creek, California Apple Store had a lot of stock in yesterday and today. I tried reserving a T-Mobile/unlocked 128GB 6+ over the past 48 hours but had the usual error message online. I went to the Walnut Creek Apple Store at 11:15am, stood in line for an hour and picked up a Silver 128GB T-Mobile 6+ to use on AT&T. When I arrived they only had Space Gray T-Mo/128GB/6+ but after 20 minutes I asked again and they had a shipment arrive just before noon.
The rep I talked to said today has been slow because of the weather and the Giants Parade in San Francisco...

Yes if you pay full price for the T-Mobile iPhone 6 it will be unlocked. I bought two 6 64 and 6+ 128,!I paid full price at the Apple Store and they were all unlocked from Apple. Buying them direct from T Mobile, they will be locked to their network.

I have actually been to the two Apple stores we have here in the Detroit metro area and I stood in line at 8 o'clock and all the stores ever get for inventory are Sprint phones I've yet to see a Verizon or T-Mobile model show up the last five times I have been there.
Looks like Apple got a big shipment in to the local stores in the gulf states because they had just about every model in stock today, that was the two here in alabama and the two in Nashville which are all close to me within 1 and a half anyways.
I finally got me a 6+ gray 64gb had to drive 1 1/2 but I got it. The other stores all sold out by the end of the day.

I'm another NorCal person keeping an eye on the Apple stock. It's crazy, yesterday they (t-mo 6+) were being spit out on the Apple website intermittently from 10am till well past closing time. I woke up at 4am and they were still coming. I couldn't snag a single one because of the error message (somebody beat me). I'll keep waiting--better than waiting 4 weeks for shipment. Not much action today.

Tell me about it. I meant to order one online anyway but I checked the closest apple store just out of curiosity plenty of times over the last two weeks and they never have ANY in stock no matter which size, color or storage option ore when I check
Spent half a day yesterday trying to order one for store pickup in Denver, CO area, everytime I get an error at the last step of checkout. Spent two hours on the phone with Apple, reps couldn't check one out either, they were saying that the stores are not updating their inventory and keep showing phones that are not actually in stock. I gave up around 9pm when Apple stores close. I do have one coming via UPS that's supposed to be delivered 11/6/2014. I ordered it on 10/20.
Snagged mine in Seattle today after a 3 hour reservation line. It was a **** show. I've seen it less crazy on lanch days. But yay new 6+!
Picked up a 6+ SG 64GB AT&T today at Barton Creek store in Austin TX. They had plenty, line was about 10-15 deep all day and I think everyone got a phone.
Might be stocked up for the F1 race this weekend. Heard the Houston stores are all well stocked too.
