I know there is a good portion of the MR community that got the MB version because JB was so backlogged on preorder day. So who has buyers remorse and wish they waited it out for the JB version?

Now that JB 7+ owners are getting their phones, seems like they are happy they got JB over MB.

All the JB needs is a transparent skin and you're set.

Not at all. I love the matte black look and prefer it over the jet black. To me it looks more professional and stealthy as opposed to the jet black.

Honestly though, who cares. Everyone has different tastes and at the end of the day it is the same phone. I don't buy a phone for color, I buy it for performance.

went from a matte black to a jetblack iPhone 7, I was able to swap these at my local Apple Store. Like the iPhone 6S, the matte black iPhone 7 feels like you're holding a soapblock.
And I don't do cases/protectors, hate them. It totally ruins my user experience

The grip of this jetblack iPhone is phenomanal. Its like the iPhone sticks to your hand.
I think it is a stellar piece of design.

Now about 3 days in use, no single visible scratches. Using it naked (with AppleCAre+)
I am not the OCD guy who checks his iPhone every day in a full bright light searching for (minor) scratches, I am just enjoying the jetblack to the fulliest.

I have a Matte Black 7+. Very happy with the color and appearance of the phone. I checked out a Jet Black in the store, and while the grip on the Jet Black is nice, I personally don't like how it looks, how it smudges, and how easily scratched it is.

I know I am OCD about minor things, and it would just drive me up a wall ... But hey, free country, and I'm happy that there's something for people who prefer the shiny look. Not really sure why there's a "controversy" here.

You can mitigate scratches using a transparent skin. I agree with what others are saying how the matte black has a more professional and corporate friendly look to it. Can't deny that. Dare I say it's the Lenovo Thinkpad (pre-acquisition) of smartphones? ;)

OP, you've got a terrible orange peel effect going with that skin. I own a JB iP7 and was concerned about skins having that effect on the finish :(

No remorse. I went to a store to pickup my matte black and the display jet black models had a bunch of smudges and scratches.

In-store models imo are not the best way to judge phone's appearance, considering that there are hundreds of people manhandling it. I wouldn't mind a matte black MBP though :)

Cool. What skin did you get? Mind sharing a link? Offtopic - are you the namesake for one of the Verizon UDP methods? If so how did you upgrade this year?

Like you said, more professional look ... That's part of what I prefer.

As far as a 'transparent skin'. Every wrap/skin I have ever seen ultimately is not totally transparent, and over time ends up gunking up. I don't want a case, either. I'd prefer to just use my $1000 phone as it came, and put it in my pockets and not have it get all scratched up -- kinda like my Space Gray was 6S+, and what I expect from the Matte Black 7.

yes I am the same guy from SD haha.

I bought full priced. Although in hindsight I probably should have gone with the exchange program offered by Verizon.

I bought from bestskinsever.com. But yeah, there is some 'orange peel' but I honestly don't mind it as long as the phone is protected from scratches and the iPhone's original design/look is still in place as the way they intended it.

Rather than have some silly remorse, just pick one color this year and switch to the other next year. I have JB and will switch to matte Black next year. Both are equally nice.

Absolutely not. If you put a skin on you'll never fully experience the phone so why bother?

I don't think you can win either way - black screens are fingerprint magnets and show off their fingerprints when off much more than white bezel screens do. Black phones are high maintenance just like black cars. But when they're shiny and clean, they're beautiful!

yes- I have massive remorse. i diidn't get the JB cuz i was worried about scratches. but now that I 've seen it in person and seen freinds and they don't look so scratched after a week i wish I'd ordere the JB. I would have had it by now...

now i gotta hope stock improves soon:) im likely gonna take my mb back next sunday (14 days) then wait til lmy jb gets in.

i've heard some jbs are showing up on the 1up reservation link.
