I think "theturtle" posted some photos of the two if that helps

Yep, guy here and went from 38mm to 41mm. I don’t need the larger screen. Though the extra space would be nice, it would just be too big for my thin-but-still-masculine (uh, right??) wrists ??
Edit: sorry can’t post pics at the moment but I’ll try to get some up later.

I had the larger version of the Series 3 and then the Series 6. It quickly became apparent that the 44 mm Series 6 looked ridiculous on my small wrist. So I put my tail between my legs and traded in my 6 for a 41 mm Series 7. I love it!!! With the black braided solo loop (in size 5) it looks amazing on a man with a smaller wrist. The midnight color appears jet black to me, which is classier than the 6. The bigger screen is nice, but if you have a 6 at the proper size I definitely wouldn't upgrade. For me though, I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

Can you post some pics please?

My husband always buys and wears the smaller size. It looks absolutely fine on him. I switch sizes just for fun, which also shows that both men and women can of course wear whichever size they prefer. Even Hermes offers all their band colors in both sizes for the first time this year. They finally got the memo too. ??

I’m debating this as well. I have the 44mm series 4 and the wife has a 40SE. My wrist measures 180 on the dot. Due to the fact that i have tattoos on my wrist im finding that i have to wear it on a specific spot on my wrist for the always on display to work (tried it at the apple store) so maybe the 41 would be more comfy. Here’s some comparison pics of mine now (S4 44) and my wife’s (SE40) Any criticism or helpful comments/thoughts would be appreciated… (dont want to steal the thread but thought this could be helpful too)

165-180 is the goldilocks zone where both look fine. I’d probably lean to the bigger one in that photo but you gotta take into account the 1mm size increase of the case and much bigger screen size of both. I’m 170mm and the 44mm watches were fine on me too, but that extra mm and much larger display ‘just‘ pushed it over the edge to being too big (for me anyway) Would be worth going to take a look.

i wish they made newer models with a 42/43mm version.

I have small wrists for a man (6.25”) and I got the 41mm, although the 45mm did look okay when I tried it in the store.

One thing I noticed is that the midnight aluminum 45mm watch will give the illusion that the watch is smaller than it really is. When I tried the starlight aluminum or silver stainless steel 45mm it looked a little bulky due to the colour of the frame compared to the black screen.

When I saw the 45 and 41 side by side, the 41 looked puny and I had regrets ordering it. But when I received it at home it was just fine.

I currently wear the 41mm starlight aluminum with a midnight sports band and for now it is the perfect size.

One thing I forgot to do is that I should have taken a photo of the 45mm on my wrist. Pictured here is the 41mm.

see, that is perfectly proportioned.. I see so many people in the “show your Apple Watch thread“ with even smaller wrist sizes with the 45 and it just looks cringey.

I had the exact same experience. Got the 41mm home, opened it up and was like “oh no what have I done”. But whenever I looked in the mirror it seemed to be just right in terms of size. I had a sports loop which made it look even smaller, got a sports band like yours and it does make it look bigger due to the band getting bigger as it meets the watch
