You need to call and get someone else. Others have done just the band exchange. They add the band online to your original order, and email you a return label for the band only. You can keep your old band until the new one comes and then mail the old one back.

I personally spoke to a rep yesterday b.c I was contemplating doing this and wanted details. The above is how they described the process. Also, I am outside my 14 days and they were willing to still exchange the band only. I do not know if that is only b.c I was "upgrading" to a more expensive band.

The problem with this approach is that the Modern Buckle is not available to order separately at this time. I do agree that the poster needs to call again and be persistent however.
 
I ordered a small modern buckle, they are not willing to exchange it because they don't have any in stock. They are suggesting i switch it for another band which is crazy. Or re order a whole new watch.

Yeah, my wife and I took a gamble and ordered her a small, but we instantly went to the Apple Store to make sure that was the right fit, and if it wasn't we would have canceled it and re-ordered the right one.

The way they did this was real messed up.

I ordered at XX:12...not sure why mine appears to have shipped before some people who have an earlier confirmed order time...my guess might be location as I'm currently based in Australia :confused:

Ahh, yes... I'm 00:10, but in US. They must be further along for Australia than here. Just hoping it changes today so I can get it by Friday! Come on Apple!
 
Picked up my Pink (coral) Spirts Band this morning from UPS... I now have everything I ordered!

I cant comprehend how they have not allowed stock for size exchanges with these modern buckles....and you cant even order any online
 
Finally! My order for SS medium Midnight Blue Modern Buckle purchased April 10 at xx:19 changed to PFS last night at around 10:00. Now waiting (not so patiently) for it to change to shipped. Whew! It's been a long few weeks!

I remember seeing plenty of articles on here (before 4/10) telling everyone to measure their wrist,that Apple wanted everyone to do so. I'll admit,I almost didn't.

Then while my fiancée was in the shower I measured her current watch and the notch she wears it on. Turns out it was at 177mm. Which is a large modern buckle. I was thinking she'd be a small for sure,but good thing I measured like they suggested. I also think there's too many variations...between size,colors and different casings,I totally see why these aren't in every store as of yet.

I will admit,they should have bands on hand for exchanges though. I agree with you there.

mchoffa, I'm right behind you at 00:11, and hoping for Friday too.

Oh well. No change still, which means no chance for Friday delivery. Earliest I'll get it now is the 26th. My delivery window is 13-27 :(

I guess so! Lot of people defending Apple but they could have had a few thousand of each on hand by preorder day and then ramped up whichever were most popular. That would have at least put some in people's hands on launch day and filled first day by now, a full 40 days since we ordered. I haven't seen many on here saying they ordered brown but still none shipped! Not smooth at all on their part.
 
mchoffa, we might still make Friday, with overnight delivery if your watch comes out of Nashville and if mine comes from Louisville, fingers crossed

I actually went and made the stupid mistake of going to try on the watch before buying it on 4/10 (since preordering and getting it on release day was never be a problem...). By the time I ordered the watch (pink MB small) it was 1pm and I got the ambiguous "June" delivery date.

Anyone else order sometime after 1am on 4/20 and getting a shipping window? I have move out of my apt by June 1st and I'm hanging on till the last possible minute before i have to switch my address... But I'm losing hope here.

I ordered on the 29th and originally had a June shipping date.

Then on the 15th of May it changed to 11-18th of June.

I'm in the UK and ordered a brown small modern buckle.

Hope yours gets changed soon!

My large brown modern buckle is being delivered today and is at the StarTrack depot now. In just a few hours it'll be on my poor naked wrist :D

Prepare for incoming pics of a real live brown modern buckle in the wild!
 
If I had a theory about the modern buckle, it would be that Apple didn't make any of them. And then, when they got all the pre-orders they started making the orders for the leather bands. And it probably takes a while to make the bands. Then ship them to assemble, etc.

But again, that's purely speculation and my opinion. It does look way better than I thought it would. It's my wife's, I have the 42mm Milanese, and now think maybe I should have went for the 38mm myself. LOL

Just wanted to give an update about my band swap I tried to initiate. When I called yesterday the representative set up a return for an exchange for the whole watch. She did upgrade it to the advanced return where they are sending the whole watch first and having me send mine back. BUT, after 30 minutes of telling her I needed it to be exchanged to a large. She is sending me a medium watch...again. I called to verify and all her notes state it is to swapped for a large, but that is not available to do and that I was misinformed and that they "apologize' but there is nothing that can be done. I have to just return the watch and go back in que for a large.

I couldn't accept that answer so I escalated to a supervisor which told me the same thing. He tried to make it sound like he was doing me a favor by swapping it out with a sport band (and refund me 200 difference) and to just repurchase the pink modern buckle when it becomes available. I have NEVER experienced such horrible customer service in my life. I am seriously at a loss of words to be told to get an exchange on the watch I have to go back into que after staying up all night on launch night and ordering and waiting since may 19 for this watch to be told I have to wait another month and a half. I'm thinking about returning the watch and calling it quits.
