What I've noticed:

Bluetooth support in iSync for Motorola V3 razr, however, now Bluetooth file exchange won't work with it.

From "Organizing widgets" Help:
"You cannot remove widgets from the Widget Bar or change their order." -- What the hell? Why not?

2 more bars on AirPort meter.

Norton AntiVirus no longer works.

Two-finger scrolling no longer works.

Admittedly unreliable Xbench scores are much better than yesterday's from Panther, especially with CPU and memory performance.

I discovered the display rotation feature. May be old news but it was a a new discovery to me. Great!

Another cool thing:

The second hand of the "world clock" widget bounces back a little every time it moves, like a real second hand.

Do you have both UK/British and US/American layouts turned on in your international prefs? Does the switch happen when you change apps? It could be that you are popping into an app that wants to default to US English, or which stickies its localization choice (so that if you set it to US once, it stays that way even if you change back to British while you're on another app, changing permanently only if you change while you are in that app). Alternatively, are you accidentally hitting the keyboard combination to switch (Apple-Space)? It's easy to do accidentally...

Actually, in System Prefs>International, you can select a different language for each Window you have open, so maybe you have American english in some windows, and "real" english input in other windows. I know this because my case is more obvious: I have Chinese input in one window, and English input in another window. ;)

You can turn this off and use the same language for all windows. That may the answer.

My Mac minis reception has improved quite a lot - from 1 - 2 bars to consistently full!

The rest of the system seems snappier too - an improvement on Panther definitely!

I did have initial problems with Mail 2, but I managed to fix that and it's all going good now.

They must've really done something with the AirPort instructions...

My friend got wireless in places we NEVER could before. And we're talking 4 or 5 bars!

Two small discoveries:

1. My Kensington Bluetooth mouse now connects at the login screen. With Panther, the mouse did not connect until a user logged in.

2. When closing a Dashboard Widget, hold Shift-Option then click the X to slooooooowly deflate and close the widget.

Dashboard
Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere, but I'm running SpeedDownload which saves downloaded widgets into a user-specified directory. To install the widgets in your Dashboard tray, create a ~/Library/Widgets folder (i.e. create a folder called Widgets in the Library folder located in your home directory) and copy the widgets there.

Clicking on the Activity Monitor icon in the dock while the program is running opens up the Activity Monitor window, if the window was closed previously.

In Panther, you had to press Command+1 to bring up the window if it was closed.

Maybe this was a bug fix.

My name shows up in the menu bar

even though I only have one account, I think this is new? i hope or I crazy

Nah - this feature was available in Panther. Go to System Preferences, Accounts, Unlock it, click on Login Options. You will find that the "Enable fast user switching" checkbox is checked ;)

When printing the PDF option now has a whole range of options...PDF to iPhoto is a great idea.

Who the hell thought it was a good interface idea to use a pull down menu on a button?

well i am still on panther but I found a new thing with QT7. If you minimise a movie while it is playing it will carry on playing small size in the dock. In QT 6 didn't it just freeze a frame?

Can anyone confirm that a screenshot is now saved as a .PNG file?
Yes, they are (by default, that is). Nice--I like that better than PDF. Not sure how you're supposed to take a screenshot of a 2nd monitor now, though--I'll have to experiment.

Little tiny things I've notice:

-You can finally right click on items in the finder sidebar--YES!

-CoreVideo eliminates "tearing" in 2D video now--very nice, particularly on a LCD (makes DVD Player video look much better, too).

-DVD Player appears to de-interlace video now (it didn't before, right?).

-Graphing Calculator is reborn! (This mighta been on Apple's list).

-There is now an option for your input method setting to "stick" across applications. This sounds trivial, but is huge for me; I would frequently get into a situation where after switching to Japanese input to do a Google search, Safari or Camino would get "stuck" somehow, and switch back to Japanese input every time I went to type in a URL. Now I can be sure of what character set I'm typing in.

Glad my Moto V620 can now iSync via BT, but not happy I still can't use it with Address Book.

I have no flag in my Menu bar, I don't know why, but I really don't mind either.

I have increased signal strength on my airport too and I love Dashboard, exactly what I needed.

Haven't had the chance to test everything out, but I am planning on putting Automator to good use.

Quicker Screensaver.

I have my screensaver set up to play through my pictures folder (660 MB worth of jpgs). In Panther it took approximately 3 minutes to start - it would just shows a black screen for 3 minutes before the first picture faded in.

Now with Tiger it takes 2 seconds which is very impressive considering the amount of pictures!

Awesome :)

Also I've noticed more sounds - like when i move a file or something.

Did anyone else have to install an iSync agent *ON THEIR PHONE* to use the new iSync? I did (Nokia 3650)...a 500k program on the phone seems a bit excessive, but at least it can install on the flash card and not on the main memory. :)

Couple of Dashboard questions...I think I must be cognitively impaired, but:

- How do you actually type on a stickie? Clicking it seems to have no effect. Typing on it seems to have no effect.

- I thought the calendar widget was supposed to show events from iCal. Does anyone get this in theirs? How do you do it? It doesn't even seem to have an info button.

I'd say the biggest discovery for me is my increase in WiFi strength. My PB used to flux between 1 to 3 bars. I'm now running 3 bars minimum. I even hit 4 bars sometimes. My PM is now pegged with maximum WiFi power. That was worth the upgrade itself for me!

I thought i was going crazy. I was trying to work out how Tiger improved my Wireless, and obviously it has, somehow  :) :) :)
