Coming from a Sprint HTC Evo Shift, purchased 3/2011. Previously had the HTC Hero from 2/2010. I figured it was time for a change, Android works for my purposes but at some point you start to wonder how much you're missing out on. Android 2.3 sucks on my phone-glitchy, white screen reset, plus phone has digitizer problems. If Sprint would let me upgrade early (they did for $60 :D), I decided I would get the iPhone 5 and here I am. Looking forward to having a nicer camera (biggest draw for me) and a new OS to learn!

Interesting that almost all those who are switching to the iPhone 5 are doing so from old and outdated Androids. No one switching from a Galaxy SIII, One X, Evo LTE or any other new Android flagship. Just sayin

By the time you get the S3, One X, Evo LTE, or any Nexus device, the OEMS have dropped them and moved onto the next big thing. There isn't any consistent support group with Androids. Man reason why I'm leaving.

You can easily get $400+ for an SIII or One X. So then paying retail for a new iPhone 5 is the same as a new customer or upgrade price. Again, I don't see anyone with a newer Android flagship talking about trying to get a new iPhone. Interesting

I still don't understand why they would? They could be new Android users and they are really happy with it. Give them a few years then re-evaluate. And they just purchased the phone a few months ago, why get a new one?

Well, I had the samsung galaxy s3 and returned it as I ddint see it as a bigger improvement over my samsung galaxy nexus. At least not worth an at&t upgrade, so I saved my upgrade and the iphone 5 is what I decided to use it for. I'll look at it as an investment as apple iphones seem to have the highest resale value than even the samung galaxy s3 would ever have, or most androids. Android devices lose their resale value quicker from what I've seen. I guess thats just because they have a new android device every month or so.
