Probably not. I'm pretty content with mine. Of course, I haven't installed iOS 7 yet. Had I done that, maybe. Maybe some kook that hates iOS 7 will want to buy it from me. There could be a niche market out there for devices still running iOS 6. Then I would upgrade.

I'll have to see the screen first, most likely. I'll also have a hard time deciding on colors right off the bat!

If the new iPad mini gets a retina display then I'll almost certainly upgrade. If it just gets one or more of CPU, RAM, storage and/or cosmetic upgrades then almost certainly not.

I will seriously consider upgrade it if it comes with retina display.

Quick question: if I get a new one, all I need to do is just take out the sim card (Verizon) from old one and plug into new one? or do we need to contact Verizon for device change or even pay some extra fees for it? I remember it asked for device serial numbers when I activated the service.

Nope I'm not upgrading. Going to wait one more generation since my ipad is running ios7 just fine, and I got my ipad in late February.

sold my mini

I just sold my 64gig wi-fi for $429.00 to eCycle Best. That is $200.00 more than Gazell is offering. I sold Gazell my iphone 4s for $225.00 and they gave me like 30 days to ship send it in. That way I could keep my phone untill the 5s arrived. Worked great then, but not now that I found eCycle Best. They also say I will get a extra gift if I send it back withen 5 days after I recive the the pre-paid shipping package. They will credit your paypal or send you a check. They only ask if it is working or not.

Had the mini since launch last year and i will be upgrading as soon as the new ones comes out. Mostly due to ram/processor that makes the current gen.. A choppy experience.

Depends on what changes are made from the current mini to the new one.

If the changes are good to me, i will buy the new and gift he current one to my mom.

I haven't had a problem with IOS7 and my mini, but I am interested in the better screen if it happens. But I'm definitely waiting, a retina screen is a big addition and I'm waiting for the reviews and the weight of the unit and the quality of that retina screen before I'm jumping on a new one

I don't feel that my mini is slow per se, but the rumored upgrades would be a big jump and would make the mini last a long time. I will probably be happy with keeping the mini 2 for a while, just like I feel like the iPhone 5 will have really long legs.

Got a potential buyer on the hook for the iPad today, for $250 cash (16 GB WiFi).

I will be upgrading and purchasing the new generation iPad as a gift for the holidays for some family members. I've locked in my tradein quote to sell my older generation iPads to BuyBackWorld before the announcement when buyback prices are the highest. I would suggest you all do the same at any tradein site you choose since the prices will drop.

I got the same offer but now I've been reading some bad things about their parent company. Just hesitating on it.

I assume you used Gazelle before and receive payment from them without problem?

Have you ever used eCycle Best before? I'm trying to find people's experience so that they don't scam.

Depends on the upgrades when I bought the first gen I bought a 32gb wifi even thou I wanted a 64gb 4g. If the new one is retina, and I feel it needs the new processor to run well with that new screen , then I'll pick one up, if Not I can make due with the 1st gen for another year

I'm going to try and hold steady but the combination of the Gold color, retina display, performance boost, and Touch ID might push me over the edge. Plus there is a noticeable reduction in performance since updating to iOS 7 on the Mini.

I'll probably get it. I did run 7.0 on my current Mini and it seemed just as fast as 6.1.3. I did downgrade back to 6.1.3 mainly because I have one app that I use daily that was not updated for the Mini since last November but it was already updated for the iPhone.

I'll wait to see what the new Mini has before I decide. I have money waiting for this. I passed on the new Nexus 7 because I like my Mini better and have the first Nexus 7 still.

I sold my mini because i just didnt like it but still have my ipad3 and the great 2013 nexus 7 plus a 5th generation touch. I plan to sell my ipad3 (i already have a buyer lined up) and will buy the ipad2 IF it has retina and/or other NEW bells and whistles. The new 8 inch anazon tablet also is very tempting. I'll have to see how they compare.

I trusted Gazelle when I sent in my 4s. And they gave me a month to send it in. What have you herd about eCycle Best? They get their $'s because they re-sell it while the price is still up.

I've never heard of them. I found out about them and search for reviews on here and found yours.

Am I crazy for considering it or is anyone with me? After upgrading to iOS 7 on my beloved mini I can't help but be disappointed and want the new mini's inevitable oomph. The RAM limitations on the current mini really bit Apple in the butt with iOS 7 - I can't stand even switching tabs on Safari with mine anymore.

Any other thoughts or people considering the same?

Bizarre. My mini on 7.0.2 is running perfectly fine, no lag...no difference between 6&7. In fact...there was just a study posted on touch feedback time per tablet (w/iOS 7) and the only tablet faster than the mini was the iPad 4. Every other iPad and Android offering was 'slower' when it came to response time.

Are there apps you're using that aren't iOS 7 optimized yet? I use mine sometimes 10 hours a day. Nary a hiccup

Absolutely and without a doubt both ipad mini and ipad.

Allways update. The only time I wished I hadn't was the iphone 5s....a waste of an upgrade.

I gave my wife my 5, sold her 4s and bought the 5s. I've owned every iPhone and in my opinion the 5s is hands down the finest iPhone to date. Why do you feel like you wasted an upgrade? I can't believe how fast mine is....the camera quality, finger ID is incredibly convenient and extremely accurate. Not a single issue here. Just wondering why you consider it a 'wasted upgrade'?

Def upgrading. Really want a better processor. Screen doesn't bother me to much. But I would love safari to have less refreshes and be much smoother. So def upgrading. Might sell my mini this weekend

I'm not a Safari user on either my mini or iPad 4. I prefer Mercury on the mini and iCab on the '4'. Have you tried a different browser? Mercury is incredible as it always remembers your font settings for each site you revisit. I agree Safari's seemingly 8 pt text is a bitch to read...but the other options easily take care of what you may be looking for. I love iOS 7---in my mini, iPad 4, iPhone 5 & 5s. Glitches are rare and typically noticed to me only by non optimized apps at this point....but it's very encouraging as every day another half dozen apps are updating.

Again...you guys seem to be in the minority. The mini works extremely well with iOS 7. Not sure where you're running into such challenges

That said...as I always do...we'll pick at least one of the two up...if not both and then sell off one or two of our older models (iPad original, iPad 2).

Good luck though..,keep in mind, these guys will slow a bit if you exceed 90% of the storage cap. Keeping 80% or more open is a good idea and should keep it running well. I'm typing this on my mini now and it's amazing to me how much better spell correction has gotten with iOS 7.

I only had my 32GB mini about 50% filled up, plenty of storage left. You may not notice it, but iOS 7 did indeed slow down the first generation iPad mini. It's not horrible - and for the "average" user, it's still more than acceptable. But many of us have noticed a not small degradation.

I'm more than glad that your iPad mini is still acceptable to you however! :)
