It will be my first time trying to get a hot item from Apple the moment pre-orders begin. I know Pre-ordering starts at 12:01 a.m. PDT on 10.27.

1) Should I sit at my computer at 11:45pm on 10/26 and get as far as I can with the order, then wait to the stroke of midnight to finish?

2) Which payment method allows you to complete your order the fastest? a) use the credit card Apple has on file b) order through Apple upgrade program c) order through carrier upgrade program on Apple website?

I'm thinking pre-order from Apple website and not a carrier website nor a retailer website is the best bet if you want to get the phone when it first becomes available. Is that true?

Lots of luck. This release is going to be much worse than when the iPhone 6 & 6+ was released. And IIRC, most sites were crashing when pre-orders opened up, some had better luck reserving through the mobile apps, overall it was just a nightmare. I myself decided to upgrade to the 8+, don't care too much for facial ID and I still feel weird about losing touch ID. I'm just not comfortable having an iPhone X and someone just grabbing my phone and pointing it at my face and having access to it. We'll see later how those matters are addressed. I'll wait for next year to see what it brings.

The site goes down so you can’t get as far as you can then wait. You can add the configuration you want as a favourite though.

I always use the Apple Store App on my iPad and have never missed. Not getting the X so you can have my place in line!

Oh I have never used it. I'm going to take a look. That's another avenue to order. Thanks.

I'm sure there's a bunch of posts on this already but is there a colourway of the X that people think will be less popular? I'm really not bothered which I get so will go for the one I have the most chance of getting a decent delivery with.

Not the place to ask, but was just setting my favorite order up in the app and wasn't sure: are the stainless sides on the white and black different colors? IE "space black" stainless steel (black) and normal stainless steel (white)?

I would say White would be your best bet.

upgrading though ATT, the apple store app let me save my favorite config of the iPhone X, fingers crossed I get lucky. From everything I've seen and read. going to be around 12 million iPhone X available and about 40-50 million people ordering. Good luck everyone.

1. no point as no one has access to the apple store as it goes down ahead when apple starts pre-order. They will re-open at 12:01 am PDT.

You can however add it as your favorite and start there.

2. CC on File would work.

If you are currently on iUP, and if they do the pre-approval, you can go ahead and do that (as they did with the 8 and 8 Plus). When the pre-order starts, you simply push a button to confirm and you are set.

Not if you use Apple Pay! =p

Annoyingly, I think the Apple Store app hasn't got Apple Pay enabled in Australia. I've got Apple Pay set up on my phone, use it often, I just can't buy anything with it in the app. It defaults to my credit card (which, ironically, is the same card as the one used for Apple Pay).

Annoyingly also, the default address keeps dropping out, so I'm having to write it in each time.

Here's hoping both of those things work smoothly come pre-order day. Don't want to waste precious seconds tabbing through the different fields for my address! :p

But yes, echoing the previous posts, I've found the app and using the "favourite" feature is probably the fastest method. Account, click on the favourite item, add to bag, bag, checkout. It's just a matter of the time it takes to get between these steps, and whether it crashes/goes offline, but I've found the app to be pretty reliable. Much more than the website.

[doublepost=1507099361][/doublepost]basically what you said. try loading it at 11:45 up till you can get in and actually order it. Hope its faster than most other people. Not sure what I expect this launch.
iPhone 6 launch was so bad. I had one ordered and my moms I couldn't get to reload till it was 2 weeks out.
hopefully apples servers have been upgraded since the 6 launch

I would use the mobile application as others have stated. I would also make sure your credit card, billing information/shipping information is all up-to-date. And I would also recommend Apple's website over carrier websites. But that's just based off my user experience.

First you will need a electric generator because that day and time there would be big electric consumption there would be a blackout chance. Then keep some ice near your modem and router.
