That's it! With the name like "acidfast" I was thinking a course of INH and rifampin would cure the disease. However, with the fecal reference, we are clearly dealing with a parasite and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole is the preferred treatment.

Co-trimoxazole can have fatal effects, it should only be used as a last resort when other less aggressive anti-bacterial treatments have failed...Hmm.
