I'm pretty sure that Apple will want to keep the Mac version and the iPad version in sync, so they will probably release the Mac version no later than the iPad.

It's definitely a possibility. We could see iWork '11 shipping on both the iPad and Macs at the same time. If not however, then summer will be the best bet.

The bad thing is that there will be no new OS in the next Mac Box Set.

iLife and iWork no longer have the date on their packaging. This happened a few months back, Apple removed the "'09" branding from both products.

I don't think we'll see the same yearly release schedules for iLife and iWork anymore.

I bet they did that because they found out people who saw "'iWork '09" in 2010 would feel its dated when it was really the latest release.

I bet they plan on updating them at WWDC or August. iWork '09 is solid and don't expect much but iLife should get a new app (an app like Pixelmator). Both suites need to be 64-BIT and updated to take advantage of the new technologies in Snow Leopard.

Exactly. By them removing the date, it implies they are going to keep it around for a little while longer. Next iLife is going to be iLife" '11".

iWork lacks VBA macros. This is the #1 issue.

so does mac excel... though supposedly it's coming back in version 13 whenever that comes...

and let's be real, the lack of vba in iwork is not it's biggest fault...

I'm not buying Office. This IS the biggest problem with iWork, OpenOffice, NeoOffice, whatever.

Now WWDC is over, any news on iWork / iLife updates?

I am just about to buy a Mac Box Set Family Pack as we have several laptops still on Leopard, and we need a couple of features in iLife '09 but i'm gonna be annoyed if new releases of iWork / iLife come out just after I buy the box with the '09 versions.

We are halfway through 2010 so ....
