I guess I’m just not getting suckered into ALL of Apple’s marketing spin.

The 8 is just a 7s/7s+. They aren’t fooling me. It’s not a new model. It’s an iteration of the old model. Same as every year.

If you have a 7 the 8 just doesn’t make sense as an upgrade. But for someone with an older one it does make sense since there is a huge performance jump from the 6 or 6 s to the 8.

Why should one be?

If you change your mind, you can always walk into a store and get the 8. It's not like it's going to be "whoops, missed the preorder, can't get it anymore" -kind of situation like the X might be.
Totally! What's to regret?

This is my exact thinking. I really do like the iPhone 8 and what it has to offer with the latest features and wireless charging. But coming from the iPhone 7 Plus, I primarily am looking for a newer form factor, newer display and face ID seems intriguing to me. That's why am opting for the iPhone X, that is whenever I receive it after pre-ordering.

The 8 doesn't have a Jony video so I'm out.

X is Best! Best Best

Besides I need to replace my dummy X.
