Are you sure? Since I asked my question I took a look myself and the Amazon website says the case has a "matte surface" in their product description... and the SGP website says that there is a "UV matte coating". The youtube reviews seem to show a matte surface as well (but it's hard to tell).

Can anyone with the smooth white case confirm whether it's got a matte or glossy finish?

Positive - I have one right here. It's not matte like a soft incipio. It's polished. Or perhaps semi-gloss. It's neither gloss nor matt really, but an unhappy medium. It's a lot like TipEx.

Gotcha. Yeah, it didn't look exactly like a matte finish... but it didn't look glossy either. Anyway, thanks for the clarification!

Anyone have pictures of the clear case with a black phone? I really like the idea of being able to see the sexiness but I'm worried the clear will look cheap.

I'd imagine putting a black iphone in a clear case would look great... until it's gone in and out of your pocket a few times... and the lint/dust gets into the case and then it'd look like crap (especially the back area of the phone).

I'm a good customer for SGP. I bought one of these cases a couple of weeks before my iPhone 5 arrived. I just wanted something temporary before more, better looking options become available.

First, I like bumper cases. I don't like to cover the back of the phone. Point is, I already want to replace this thing at first opportunity. It's strictly temporary. That said, I don't like it. The biggest reason is you lose the feel for the volume control buttons because now they are recessed. I think this is an issue with a lot of these type of cases. I'm use to just grabbing my phone and adjusting the volume. It's harder with this case on.

Also, I think the protection for the top edges and corners is minimal.

Today after reading the Target/Bestcase bumper thread, I ran out and picked one up. Kinda boring looking, but definitely better looking than the SGP Ultra case. I'm happy until SGP (or someone else) makes a cool looking bumper. I'm waiting for the SGP Neo Hybrid EX Snow Series to be released.

Hope this helps.

I'm returning mine. It's a nice case. Two issues. Minor one being the white colour is a different shade to the white phone which catches your eye immediately. But the bigger issue for me is that the back of the case doesn't stop flush with the edge of the bottom of the phone, nor does it wrap around it like the old incipio feather for the 4. Instead it sticks out a bit below the phone. If, like me, you tend to rest the phone on your pinky when using it (not on a call obviously) then your finger has the sharp edge of the case pressing into it. I found it awkward an uncomfortable.

I'm not completely enamoured with the feel of the case but I may just be used to a naked 5. Search continues.

I understand what you're trying to say, and i do the same. It would annoy the hell out of me too.

But this pictures posted don't really showcase this. Does yours fit differently? this pics at the top of the thread of the bottom of the case seem like its fine?

I see the crystal clear option is now available. I'd really appreciate it if anyone who bought it did a review with photos/video when they get it!

I'm actually wondering how clear the crystal clear one is?

I saw the photos on the SPIGEN website that it looks a bit darker toned?

I have a white one and would want a case that is extremely thin AND completely transparent

(I'm kinda disappointed they had a black circle/border for the camera cutout)

My smooth white just came in today and I must say... I love it. It's definitely more matte than glossy. Doesn't show fingerprints much at all... and keeps the slim form factor very nicely. Perfect.

Would appreciate pictures for the "soft clear" one, and wonder of the matte textured material is on the outside? That would help with grip.

Honestly, my only problem with the Ultra Thin Air at this point is the small print on the side. It's the only reason I haven't just bought the case already.

Are there hi res pics of the black? I noticed all the reviews on Youtube are of the white one.

NM, saw that it was delayed.

I received the clear Spigen Ultra Thin Air case yesterday. Here's my impressions.

I have a black IP5 and the case is a fingerprint magnet. There were some scuffs on the case already out of the box, but they weren't awful. The case, for whatever reason, attracts all types of dust around it. You can see some of the dust in the attached photos, especially on the sides. I feel like this is going to be a big problem with a ton of cases, and this was only on for 24 hrs or so. I do NOT keep my phone in my pocket, just a belt holster so this is from regular use.

I like it, but I will probably change it when something frosted or the like comes around.

this was incredibly helpful, thanks.

How come it doesn't have the rings at the camera cutout as seen here??

also, how is the workmanship of the case?
It looks as if the edges are rigid/sharp to me... (from the photos)

I honestly don't notice the small print on the side of my smooth white case at all. It's a light gray print on a white case. It's barely there. If that's what's stopping you... for the love of baby jesus... get the case already :D

I'm thinking about just pulling the trigger and getting one. I don't like the crystal clear based off the photos above, so I was thinking of getting black instead, but I really wanted to preserve the way the phone looks so…I don't even know anymore haha.

I ordered the Desmay Slight, and if that turns out to be as bad as people are saying it is, I might just go completely caseless and just stick with using my ColcaSac sleeve when I toss it in my bag.

It's working for me so far.

The rings fall off as on many they aren't glued in. Their support acknowledged this and said they are trying to get spares. I saw some cases still in their packaging with the camera ring already out and floating around.

The quality is fairly poor. There's some sharp corners and edges and the plastic is already crumbling away there for me despite taking care of it.

Holy crap, what ****** quality from SGP!

What did the support mean by spares? Will they send us another one when the revised one is out?

How's the grip?

Does the case improve the grip of the phone? I find that a naked phone is slippery for me. Thanks.
