Here's a link to three shots I took just after installation. I got the fit right, but a few bubbles. Hopefully they'll work out in the next 24-48 hours.

Fit is great, very precise. Installation is ok..patience is key and don't be afraid to keep it moist to move around until satisfied with the alignment. I nailed the top but had to redo some of the bottom and ended up with a few bubbles. We'll see.

But product is great. I've used invisibleSHIELD a couple of times. This is far less tacky and looks like it will be as clear or more clear that IS when dried.

Just placed my order for front/back ATT WiFi+3G Skin from Ghost Armor. I've used: Bodyguardz, Wrapsol, Invisible Shield so far and all have been pretty good. Ghost Armor has a product out now and their warranty is lifetime so i'll give em a shot. Looking forward to getting it.

My iPad 2 Wi-fi

I went to my local mall in one of the kiosks that puts on Ghost Armor (just put it on the front - thinking about some decal/skin for the back). I have a pretty meticulous friend who goes with GA for most of his electronics, so I decided to go with Ghost Armor.

I have only had it a few days so I can't give any long term assessment, but I am pretty happy with it. I did have the Ghost Armor guy install it. Mine is super smooth. Watching him, it didn't seem too hard, but buy the time I picked up a rubber squeegee and some of the other small tools he had, I figured I would pay for the installation. Plus I didn't want to "practice" on my iPad. No bubbles. It looks perfect.

I can see some texture in the cover itself when it is at an angle and not turned on. But turned on, I can't tell it is there.

I am sure that the service may very from kiosk to kiosk - they kind of look like independent contractors. But Napleon at Paradise Valley Mall in Phoenix did a great job.

I used the iPad in the plastic cover it shipped in for a few days until I could have the GA put on. Lame, I know.

I only got a screen protector because I have kids who are going to playing with it too.

Do you know if the Smart Cover works with GA???
Nice pics, think it's what I'm going to do also.

I would like to see some photos on how the Ghost Armor looks. I like the way PhantomSkinz looks on mine. :)

I walked by a Kiosk at the local mall in Norcal. When I asked for a quote to cover the back only (I prefer my screen naked), the guy working there quoted me $35 w/ install.

But he also gave me the option of buying a "gift certificate" for the ghost armor + install for $10 less. The only catch was I could not use the gift certificate in the same day. Will be going back to get it installed it later this week.

My gf was quoted $55 for front + back install and she also did the gift certificate thing, so full install for only $45. Not bad.

I actually did the gift certificate thin pg for my ipad when I got my iphone ghost armored.

SUPER happy with it on my iPhone and quite pleased with my iPad. Both my iPad and iphone have the matte back which I really like. I also got the screen covered which i think i would do again (even with a case/cover) just because I am kinda OCD and I can hand it over to kids and not really stress about random scratches and mild abuse.

A pro-tip for those thinking about ghost armor. Hit up their site and see if there is a kiosk next to you. I had great experience with the quality of their work -- they have all the tools and a cool warmer/dehumidifier box thing... And they offer a lifetime warranty on the product if you get it installed there -- just return with the receipt and they will install a new shield for just the price of labor (I think it was like $8 or $10 for the ipad and $5 or something for my iPhone). I have yet to take advantage of it because my product is holding up so well (going on a year) but when there is a random tear or a corner lifts up (and it will happen even on the best product) then i can just pop in there and get a new skin. And i think if there is something out in the future that isn't available when you get it (like a colored option, matte option, etc) you could get that one swapped on there..

Happy hunting..

Just got back from my local mall and they installed it in less then an hr (front and back for 2 ipads, verizon+3G)
Seems to look really sexy. The back is really shiny!
expensive but worth it IMO and i didn't have to deal with the "stress" of putting on 2 of them :p)

Dang, there's one at my mall with the apple store! Think I'll have to go back today and have one installed. Thanks for the thread and tips.

I put a zagg on my v1 without too much trouble, but it looks like the v2 with camera holes will be harder. Think I'll spring for the install.

I just put a ghost armor screen protector on an iPad 2 and it couldn't be easier. The hardest part is keeping dust off the screen while installing.

When you remove these protectors off of front and back, is there any residue left behind?

I may have to get something for the back at least. Which brand is less 'tacky/sticky?'

I can't comment on Ghost Armor, but Phantomskinz is smooth as a baby's bottom. Zagg OTOH is as tacky as a sheet of fly paper.

I want to put something on the back of my iPad to protect it paired with the smart cover on top, but it stresses me out working with these one-shot deals where you have to get it right the first time or throw it away and start over with a new one. I almost had a meltdown installing a Wrapsol on my iPhone 4.

I see that your location is Austin and I just checked their site and they have a location at Barton Creek Square. They can install it for you. Here in NY they charge $15 for a front & back install.

Last week I purchased and had them install full body protectors on both the iPad 2's in my house and they came out perfectly. I have no complains. The front protector is not sticky like the Zagg one I had on the original iPad. You really can't tell there is a protector on the screen. Their location out in Long Island, NY said if there was a problem with the install you and bring it back to them with in 7 days they well redo it. I live in NYC and drove 45 minutes just to get the protectors and it was well worth it.

On my phones I normally just do the install myself, but I had such a hard time putting the Zagg on my original iPad. I eventually got it on but it took sometime. Now I rather just pay someone to get it done correctly.

At the location at Smith Haven Mall, NY sells a carbon fiber looking back protector in white or black. Some woman got the black carbon fiber while I was waiting for mine and it looked real nice. I plan on using getting a book type case for my iPad also, so I opted for the clear.

Does the Smart Cover work with GA?

Thanks in advance.

For those not wanting to click the link -- it works adjust fine. From the bits i have read online any seemingly lessened strength of the magnetic connection is in most cases being attributed to psychological weirdness.. :)... With most users saying they cant feel any difference at all..

Random note to all considering a ghost armor purchase and researching now..

I am lucky enough to have a mall kiosk near me and just put in an order for the new (?) matte back ghost armor. I don't know if it is my particular kiosk or all but up until next week they will have not had the matte finish back available for the ipad 2.

They have had it available for the iPad 1 and it looks amazingly cool on my current iPad and I was holding out for it on my ipad 2..

Im attaching a few pictures if anyone is interested. I have no idea how they will look nor do I even recall what the non-GA'ed back of my ipad looks like... But I do know it definitely doesn't have anything of the glassy "cellophane look" sheen that some of the plastic covers give the ipad when you apply it to the kinda dull aluminum backing of the iPad.

I am uploading at a low file size so I have no idea how they will turn out.. I anyone is interested in will be happy to upload a higher resolution image..

Questions for Ghost Armor owners:

I just got mine installed yesterday from a kiosk at a local mall. The iPad2 was brand new out of the box (hadn't even powered it on). The guy did a great job installing it, aligned perfectly, no dust or anything major like that. I got both sides done for $55. I normally wouldn't pay this much for something like this but I'm tired of losing sleep over scratches.

However....I do have a location on the screen where I can see hundreds of tiny micro-bubbles. At least that's what I think they are. They just look like a little silvery pattern. Invisible when the iPad is on, but noticeable against the black when it's turned off. It's been 24 hours and I can't tell if it looks any better compared to yesterday. They guy said they would disappear after a day (I think he said this anyway).

Anyone else have this? Did they disappear eventually, or am I going back to the mall this weekend to have it done again?

Thanks.

No Ghost Armor at any of the malls around here :(

The little bubbles will go away, they did on my phone anyways.

I don't remember noticing them on my iPad but I didn't use it for a day or two after the armor was installed.. I have read and heard from numerous sources that many films have bubbles that eventually disappear as many of these fancy plastics are all gas permeable I believe..

I concur the peace of mind not worrying about scratches every time you set it down on a non-freshly wiped surface is well worth the money..

Other than the bubbles (which assuming they come out) how do you like the ghost armor..?
