Somehow, I actually did follow your story. Your girlfriend seems to be behind this from what you have said, in particular the bit about the screen names. I know people who use multiple screen names on the same account and both names will sign on and off basically simultaneously with that program.
If your girlfriend is behind it and her roommate or whomever doesn't realize they are being played, you might want to show your girlfriend this:

You can find more details by googling "Megan Meier." The short version of the story is that an overweight, depressed 13 year old girl named Megan was fooled into thinking a cute boy on myspace liked her. This boy told her she was pretty. She ran to her computer every day after school to check what he wrote to her. The "boy" was in fact the parents of one of Megan's friends whom she had a falling out with. After gaining Megan's trust with the fake myspace, they used it to ridicule and torment her. They called her fat, and a slut. Megan hung herself. The courts have yet to do anything about it. Adults should know better. Either way, you should let the roommate know that you found out this guy isn't a real person before they get any more attached. There's the possibility that she knows this and that the joke is on you, but I doubt it. Do the right thing.

No worries, at least not from me. I've been advocating that MacRumors is a love forum. People come here for all sorts of help. I hope the people who commented in your thread have helped you with your problem. Your heart's definitely in the right place.
Keep in mind, the fact that your girlfriend is doing this (but talk to her again, don't assume she is the guilty party) doesn't make her evil. It's probably a maturity issue more than anything else. She couldn't even find a picture of a non-celebrity or make all the pictures on myspace and facebook be of the same person. It's not like she's an evil genious (I hope). But, picking on people is not cool, and it shouldn't be enjoyed. It's kind of sick that someone could take pleasure in it. I doubt your girlfriend understands the possible gravity of the situation. I just hope she gets some sense shocked into her before anything devastating happens. If her roommate is really that unbalanced, you might want to contact someone at your school for professional assistance and guidance. Again, your heart's in the right place.
Best of luck,

I dont want you guys to think I am looking for sympathy or anything else, but when working on this kind of stuff, I can't keep it in because it bothers the crap out of me. So posting in a safe place, such as an online forum, I get it off my chest, without having to worry about it spreading or repercussions or anything like that.
Thanks to everyone who has chimed in or read or anything else.
