I really was wanting the IPP Cellular being that I always buy the LTE versions iPads. However I couldn't resist the urge and ended up buying the 32gb IPP and Pencil. After using it for 3 weeks I personally don't use it no different than I use my iPad Air 2 LTE. So I was seriously thinking about returning it until my neighbor, who is a Apple Hoarder, offered to trade his Late 2011 15" MacBook Pro (MD322LL/A) in exchange for my IPP + Pencil. I'm perfectly aware of Radeongate and I know it's a gamble swapping a IPP for a 4 year old PC, However it's been upgraded to 1TB SSD/16GB RAM and after extensive testing it for a day I believe it will be a good swap. There isn't 1 scratch or ding on it and the screen is in pristine condition, so I will be getting with him today and sealing the deal.

Keep in mind I only paid $570 for IPP because I got it as a Open Box item @ $745 plus 10% Movers Coupon off and $100(Gift card/Certificates) applied towards it and I paid $100 for the Apple Pencil, so the swap seems even considering the radeongate possibility that will lurk in the back of my mind.

So back to my IPA2 I go and I will most likely revisit the IPP when the Cellular versions are more readily available at B&M stores and more apps take advantage of it and the Pencil that suites my needs(I'm not a artist by no means). I really love the size and speed but I couldn't justify keeping it when I'm using it no different than my iPad Air 2 which is by no means a slouch.

Love my iPad Pro... I'll be keeping this sucker for awhile. I have an iMac 5K and this just compliments that.

i also purchased one in hopes that it could make my life with my 15' beast (macbook pro) easier (portability wise) I had an air 2 also and the truth is the IPP isn't very portable at all, all things considered. The IPP's limitations handicap it to the point that its hard to justify paying $1500 (Accessories included) for it. That being said it is a very nice tablet, the screen, the sound, and all make it a very "Fun" tablet to use for consumption it is just not there for work or even what I consider true Pro ability YET. I also returned mine and miss it but until i can find something other than just movies in a small screen with the ability to run two other non essential limited apps at the same time the money is better off in my bank for now.

I'm in the same boat. I don't really need the IPP since I already have the Air 2. I bought the IPP with the intention of selling the Air, but it will still be a big chunk of money. Though I have not paid nearly as much as you and I got the discover card Apple Pay cash back, which is nice.

I got lucky and sold my Air 2 for $700 last week. They retail here for $769 so I am completely thrilled and it does soften the blow of the cost of the IPP somewhat.

I returned my 128 GB IPP and its AppleCare and picked up a 32 GB which amounts to a $300 savings here. The display on this new one is slightly better so that is an unexpected bonus.

It looks like I will remain an IPP owner.

Btw, nice screen name. I lived in Sanlitun for eight years while I was in China for work. I even remember the days of south bar street before it got razed. Those were some fun times.

I arrived there somewhat by accident in mid 2005 just after it had been torn down. The stories I have heard about Nan Sanlitun are -legendary-. I stayed for four years and it was all magical, like living in a bubble of artificial reality. The Olympics ended that feeling of freedom for me, but there are probably adventurers there now who would say differently.

My return situation now is that I either wake up owning it on the 9th, or I will have returned it. It's that close, and there is no decision one way or the other. The problem is that it is really quite excellent and I love using it, even if I am for the most part doing nothing important. One thing I find about the IPP is that it is the most futuristic feeling device I have. I love how it is just a thin black slab with such a great display and capability.

Apple will only continue to make the IPP's software better... I'm keeping mine. Love everything about it.

Return it? When you pry it from my cold, dead ... Sorry, channeling Charlton Heston.

It can't be returned. It already has a name. Calliope, for the chief of the Muses, usually depicted with a tablet and stylus. Yes, I know that I shouldn't anthropomorphize my computers - they hate when I do that - but "Bill's iPad" is too impersonal.

Oh my, when I first got the iPad, office apps were free, now I need a 365 subscription

It is still free for all iPads except the Pro, due to some lame reason from Microsoft that the screen size is larger than 10" or something.

The MBP is a good machine and hopefully you will have good luck with it. And it sounds like maybe you were having regrets not getting the cellular version so hope it works out. Regarding the cost of the iPP, more accurately you paid $670 for it though as the $100 gift card really is still "cash" you now no longer have to spend. So with the Pencil thrown in, the MBP ran you $770. :) There's a seller on ebay with 8 units like that selling with free shipping for $700, but of course you can't inspect it so I agree it's probably a good swap.
