I'm sticking with the 4 until my contract is up (which will put me on the 7). If something crazy comes out I'll buy it outright, really don't want to get rid of my 4, too beautiful :)

I've really enjoyed each & every iPhone made except my Antennagate Special. The iPhone 4 is the most disappointing of any Apple product I've owned. And I've owned many Apple computers and other gear.

So based on my iP4 experience I'm going to sit back and wait. Perhaps by iP6 Apple will get it right. In the mean time I have a very nice new collection of Androids to enjoy.

Hmm, didn't know Apple made an Antennagate Special. I have an iPhone 4 and have experienced no antenna issues whatsoever. Odd. The iPhone 4 is the best iPhone I've ever owned. Amazing device.

Who knows, if it has LTE, which it's more than likely not, I will DEFINITILY buy it.

If not, then it's a no go for me. (Unless it LOOKS really cool, then probably ;) )

No reception problems here. What there WAS, was a software issue in which caused the bars on the screen to drop, but the signal strength stayed the same. I even tested this. Many times.

I don't utilize my iPhone anywhere near to the max, it more than satisfies my needs as a phone and I can't justify the expenditure on any upgrade to a 4S or 5.

I am now though looking at other Apple products significantly the new Mac book Air....if funds allow I will stick with my IP4 and go Air while keeping an eye out for iPad Retina type developments.

The only thing I'm waiting for now is a bigger screen, so I'll upgrade when a 4" comes out, otherwise will stick with my iPhone 4 because the specs are still perfect for me...

http://blogs.forbes.com/ericsavitz/...sees-iphone-3gs-revival-possible-ipad-2-plus/

For the June quarter, Berger says iPhone production included 1 million iPhone 3GS units, 18 million iPhone 4 units, and 2.1 million iPhone 4 CDMA phones. For the September quarter, he says production plans include 3 million iPhone 3GS units, 15.5 million iPhone 4 units, 2.7 million iPhone 4 CDMA units and 7 million iPhone 4S units.

Looks like production for the 3GS and 4 is NOT stopping anytime soon.

This is why I like Apple. They can support iPhone 3GS well into their 3rd birthday even if means offering it as the family budget phone and perhaps FREE when subsidized. Then the 8GB iPhone 4 is in the $99 category and the 4S/5 is in the $199-$299.

As for the question, I thought this back in its launch day and would stick with the iPhone 4 for at least 2 years. It still works like a charm and easily the best phone I ever had. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And it still looks stellar as I never dropped it yet. Can't complain. Specs are satisfactory enough for me. Why need 8MP and such? It is like laptops. Why would we need to upgrade every year when we can stick to the ones we have for a few years.

I never really upgrade until I am eligible for one which means I can't upgrade at all until February 2012. Maybe then I will change my mind. I will still keep the iPhone 4 and use it as an iPod touch even if I happen to move onto another platform next year. It really is pointless getting the newer iPhone unless you can make profits selling old ones. Getting the latest technology is an endless cycle.

That's a separate issue and not connected to the antenna de tuning issue.

If the next version (whatever it's called) has a 4" screen, 64gig storage, is slimmer and costs less then I'll buy a sim free version and put my Business contract sim in it.

I've just bought a new 2011 21.5" iMac which I'm very impressed with. I'm looking closely at the Apple TV2 at the moment also. I'm buying an 32gig wi-fi iPad 2 off a friend on Sunday so the new iPhone will make the set!!

I think I've turned into a fanboy :eek::eek::eek::eek:

I'm stuck with Verizon iPhone 4 until next year. No complaints here. I look forward to upgrading the the LTE iphone 6 next fall. I don't get why people think the LTE iphone will be out this year. Verizon's LTE coverage should be more substantial by the end of next year. AT&T has barely started build theirs.

Will be interesting if the iphone 5 price stays the same or goes down when the 4 was launched.

I'll most likely switch once it is confirmed there's no antenna issues with the next one. Up to this day I still drop calls, and even though yes, I am in a zone where the signal isn't the greatest, it all goes back to the fact my old 3G would not drop calls on this same spot.

My contract doesn't end till dec 2012 do may just wait for iPhone 6. iOS 5 will be like having a new phone in fairness. Guess it depends how much I have left in my wedding fund ha

Yeah, 'm riding this phone until the end. If the iPhone 5/6 looks good at the end, i'll buy that, but I'm not ruling out Android at this point.

I only get a new phone when I am eligible for an upgrade...and my last upgrade was May 4th of this year. xD Won't be a while till I get a new phone.

I really don't care though considering the iPhone 4 is nothing short of awesome!

I feel the same

I love my iphone 4 and what it does. Also speed wise it is pretty good and if the iphone 5 is quicker it won't be by much.

The higher screen would be a big plus but I love my iphone 4 and if I were to get the 5 it would only because it's a new bit of kit.

I like my iphone 4 it is beautiful. I dunno it's a tough one...my upgrade will be december 2012 so may just wait for the 6. With a wedding next summer no way would i be allowed to pay £500 for the 5 not when I'm happy with the 4.

ugh i just love a new bit of kit thats why i want it so much.

IMO with the ios 5 coming out that is basically like having a new phone to me. If ios 5 wasn't coming out i would be more tempted to go the 5.

No temptation here. I'll wait until they have a 4G capable model. (My fully subsidized upgrade is in March, but that's irrelevant really since the next one I buy will be factory unlocked direct from Apple.) And I won't be buying right at launch this time as I'll want to jailbreak it for all the functionality Apple can't be bothered to build in.

Hubby and I kept our original iPhones for three years. I figure the iPhone 4 is more than capable enough to make it through at least two.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 3GS: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_4 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8K2 Safari/6533.18.5)

I'm still using the 3GS, so I am planning on upgrading to whatever comes out next.

I'm sticking with iOS4.3 no matter what tbh.

iOS5 is bloated, laggy, awful piece of crap

iPhone 5+iOS4.3 would be nice though

I currently have a 3GS White 32GB. once the new iPhone is launched I will do one of the 2 following options:

1) iPhone 4S/5 has 64GB buy it!

2) iPhone 4S/5 only has 32GB and minimal upgrade I'll save money and buy the iPhone 4 and use the balance to go toward my 27" iMac and iPad 2 or iPad 3

Depends how good the next one is. My plan is to stick with my 4 until demand decreases so I can just walk into a store and buy one, and wait until there is an untethered JB for the new iPhone.
