Was curious to find out if anyone will still buy the Mini 3. I'm still thinking I'm gonna. I love the size of it and the addition of Touch ID. Yes I'm disappointed they didn't upgrade to A8 at least but I think I'll still buy it. Anyone else feel the same?

if the screen gamut is fixed... then maybe

Unless I'm missing something, the only thing the iPad mini 3 has that the mini 2 doesn't is Touch ID, a feature I don't need or want. I'm still happy with my original iPad mini, but if I were going to get a new one, it would be the mini 2. My old eyes can't see any difference between mine and the retina display, so I'm not even in a rush for that reason.

If it's your first iPad Mini, go for it. If you own the previous Mini with Retina, you are a fool for purchasing this.

I LOVE the mini form factor, but iOS8 is already getting a little sluggish. Apple has forced my hand, and now I have to look at, if not consider, the iPad Air 2. Guess that was their plan all along.

I'm really struggling with this decision. £80 extra for an iPad just because it has Touch ID seems really steep. If I bought the 64 GB version I guess it wouldn't feel as bad, but it feels like a rip off. It really feels like this generation mini should have been last years mini, while the air feels like an actual upgrade.
I feel I should buy the air, but I love the form factor of the mini. Maybe I'll just keep my existing iPad mini 1 for travelling and get an air for home.

Doesn't seem worth it over my current retina Mini. If the display were improved, I'd definitely do it but it doesn't seem like it is.

Sort of considering the Air 2, but I much prefer the Mini's size.

No I am not. I bought the Retina Mini last year and have no reason to upgrade. Touch ID is great on iPhone but not that important on a tablet.

On the one hand, the Mini (with Retina Display) is a great iPad so it's not like the Mini 3 is a terrible product.

It is extraordinarily half assed though, which is why Apple can shove it.

Mini 2 all the way.

Nope. I'm going to get a 32GB Mini 2 WiFi. Very disappointed in the Mini 3.

I agree. I was going to order, so all during tha iPad air 3 presentation, I kept waiting for the inclusion of the Mini 3 with some of the features. I can't believe the did so little with both actually. The Air doesn't need a camera of that magnitude. I take all my photos with my iPhone 6. Look at my past posts and you will see a defender of the rMini through thick and thin.
I've got to let this all soak in

Yeah, really disappointing with what they did. They have a reason for it, but we can only speculate. Perhaps the Mini was eating into their flagship iPad and they didn't like that. Or maybe their marketing felt it wasn't necessary to put more effort into it. I don't know.

What I do know is that I, and many of us, are very unhappy with it.

I really wanted to like the Mini 3 but the upgrades are definitely lacking. After hearing all your valid points I'm gonna go with the Air 2 as well. Maybe next year they'll make the Mini more appealing again.

Be interesting to see if they go with A8 (this years chip) or A9 (Next years).

Well I have a box here from Buy Back World for my 32GB rmini with a $230 quote due on 10.22

Looks like it'll go to my wife instead of getting a mini 3.

Might investigate the air 2 though
