I agree with all in this thread. Zite has been great for me over the last week. It finds a ton of interesting articles that I otherwise wouldn't have come across. I also like its section organization much better than Flipboard's feed setup.

Just want to put in my 2c for this one, I really love this app and I find it even better than Flipboard. The way it organises your twitter and RSS feeds and the algorithm it uses to prioritise the articles is genius and actually works - even moreso the longer you use the app.

I too don't think it gets the attention that it deserves. It may not be quite as slick as Flipboard but it's a smarter implementation.

Read through this thread out of curiosity to what "Zite" was and just downloaded it.

Recently, I switched from using Pulse to Flipboard. I'm more partial to the magazine style layout then a grid.

Zite has a nice layout too, but what really impresses me is the categorization of the feeds it pulled from my google reader account. I also like, how I could go in and manually choose from a list of other categories I may be interested in.

I think i'm going to continue to use both Flipboard for direct access to the reading that I want and Zite for the seemingly intuitive articles it recommends based on my preferences, which I may not have been exposed to otherwise.

Thanks to all on this thread for recommending this app.

I don't use Google Reader, but I really love Zite. This is what other developers should look at before releasing an app.

Received my first iPad Wednesday. Loaded this app Thursday - WOW. Great. Along with USA Today and NYT i'm all set.

App works just fine.

It's a tremendous app. I love the format. I'm still new to the ipad but this is one of the first apps that really made me realize just how cool the device is. Pulse and Flipboard are awesome too. I like the different formats they provide.

I agree with all of you. I downloaded Zite last night and it's awesome. Being new to both Flipboard and Zite I much prefer Zite. I feel like it's easier to navigate to content you're interested in. I do like the Flipboard lets you connect to FB and Twitter though. I haven't played with Zite enough to know if it has this capability as well.

Also, I cannot believe it is FREE.

Got it recently, but so far I prefer Flipboard.

Flipboard still needs to add the ability to link more than 1 twitter account.

I installed it last night, and its pretty incredible. I don't use Google Reader or anything, but I just picked some of the categories and wow! It's wonderful.

Awesome app..however, I wish I could download all sections/articles and then go offline (subway, airplane, etc).

Does flipboard or pulse allow this by any chance?

Thanks

Agreed that Zite is a great app. Have only been using this and Flipboard for the past few days but I prefer Zite so far. I love the idea of directing what content I'll get in the future, interested to see how well it really works over time.

Zite have been handed a cease and desist order from a whole bunch of big publishers, as the app displays the full article in the stripped down article format (free of ads). I absolutely love this app and really hope the service doesn't get shut down by publishing companies unwilling to embrace the future.

Flipboard cannot replace Zite for me, It has turned into my most used app on my iPad.

I'm afraid they probably don't have a leg to stand on... the allegations are seemingly accurate :(

I love Zite! Hopefully something can be worked out so the app can continue and provide useful for everyone.

I love the app except for 1 thing. It shows me a lot of repeat articles. It must grab them from different sources, but just today I had the Dish network buys Blockbuster article appear 4-5 times and also the iPad sells 2+ million units appear a handful of times in my Gadgets and Technology sections.

Does anyone know if there's a remedy for this. fwiw, I only have a twitter and it said there wasn't enough information in that alone to generate my likes so I went through their generic topic picker to select my content.

granted I haven't been following this closely, but I don't think you need to worry about the app being shut down. What will likely happen is that publishers will request that instead of using the zite formatted display with no ads, it will need to link back to the publisher's web site. Granted, if enough publishers start doing that..the usefulness of the app goes down. I'd probably just go back to something like Reeder full time.

This is akin to every (printed) newspaper having the same story, worded in their own way. There's no way around this.

Hopefully that's something they could fix in the future releases somehow. It is a pretty intelligent app, there must be a way to determine if the article is the same and filter out duplicates. It's somewhat of a pain to have 8 pages of articles in the gadgets section and every page has a duplicate of another article. I would much prefer to only have 4 pages.

I like it but Flipboard is far superior. Far better designed, quicker, more content, more intuitive to use.
