So, I noticed more today that my Sheath has caused scratching on the front edge of the metal frame of my graphite 12 Pro. Someone else mentioned this a few weeks ago, and it appears to be true. Not major damage, but a little annoying. I think companies really struggled with the square edges returning.

I think you’d get that with any tight fitting case if dirt gets in. I take my iPhone 12 out of the Sheath every couple of weeks and wipe it out and so far after 7 months, no issues thank goodness .

I just checked my Sheath which I've had on for months now and no issues at all. Are you sure it was the Sheath that scratched it? It's such a soft material, the metal of our phones is much harder. What's more likely is that a hard particle of something (maybe in your pocket) got wedged between the phone and the case itself. I doubt the Sheath material itself would cause any damage. I've been using Sheaths for many years now and scratching has never been an issue.

Bingo. I think it's dirt or some other hard particle too. No issues on mine (not quite 7 months, but many months) either and we've got three other Sheaths on iPhones in the family and no issues there too.

But, Apple, please stop using shiny stainless steel on products made to be (mis)handled. MacRumors OCD can't handle it! hahaha

I would imagine the stainless is more prone to scratching as it’s that sort of material in general. You can scratch raw stainless with a fingernail so at least the DLC saves a bit of that. Not that bothered about the material used on the edges of my iPhones as they are covered in cases like the Sheath anyway. Mine is blue aluminium and so far it is blemish free abs I’ve had it since launch day.

Yeah. It probably was just junk from my pocket. I switch cases occasionally, so I didn’t think stuff would build up much. It’s minor though and only really noticeable when I look for it. No big deal.

Another (former) Sheath user here with no scratches on mine. The case is too soft to do that.

But the reason I say "former" is because I just got the new Synthesis with MagSafe and I haven't used my Sheath since. VERY solid case, buttons feel fantastic, magnets are remarkably strong. I've never been a Synthesis guy, but since the Synthesis has MagSafe I've been using it daily and I absolutely love it. Terrific fit and finish all around. Caudabe hit a home run with this one.

I love my Caudabe cases, but I’m taking a break with them, to try out other cases. I know I’ll come back to them in a few weeks. I would like for Caudabe to come out with another brighter color that isn’t dark. The Electric Blue is bright but I would like to see something like the Electric Orange apple silicon case.

MagSafe Sheath! Guess they’ve finally decided to do this shortly before 13 release lol

Also not available for 12 Pro Max

This is both good and bad. Good for my wallet and the 3 Sheaths I already own for my PM, but having one sure would be nice. Guess I'll have to use an Apple Silicone or leather when I want to take advantage of Mag Safe.

My Sheaths actually work just fine with my MagSafe charger. I’m so invested into the sheaths as I own every color (sea green in a couple weeks). I wouldn’t have bought them even if they were released for 12 PM.

Get the Synthesis magsafe, better than the sheath.

I might give the synthesis a shot in the near future. I’m interested to see how these for the 12 Pro Max are. I’m hearing lots of good reviews about them. I do love my Sheaths though!

As a matter of fact TechnicallyTee an awesome case reviewer and long time Caudabe reviewer has nothing but positive things to say about them.

I have had one for a few weeks. Better tighter fit and more protection than the sheath. MagSafe is great and doesn’t leave a ring mark like some. Ring is in the case.
He nailed that review, i agreee 100% with everything he said.

ESR, Nomad and Synthesis. The nomad ring looks disgusting and won’t come off. The ESR got for free but the magnets are way to strong and it’s a smudge magnet.
Synthesis is smaller of the 3. Better fit, better buttons, no smudges or any marks/scratches.

Kind of hard to beat Caudabe. Their cases are just really great!

I prefer the design of the Sheath to the Synthesis but no doubt they are both very good cases. I can’t see myself ever buying another brand of case now. I don’t use MagSafe though so it’s also a bonus not having to get that variant
Sheath has MagSafe option now too. 12/12 pro only.

I see in some videos this case is very weak near the volume buttons and charge port ? Can anyone recommend a case that fits right like pitaka but full coverage like the sheath?
Thanks

That’s good to know for those that want it. I hope they continue to make a version without it though as it’s added cost for those of us that don’t use it and kind of pointless otherwise.

The ones without MagSafe work just fine with MagSafe speaking from experience.

Just got my Synthesis delivered and this is definitely not the case for me. I don't feel like this case will protect against any type of table or waist level drop. Had high hopes that this would be the one case for me but alas, going back to Amazon today.
