I did a demo this morning around 9 am at 1 of my 3 local stores and they were pretty much begging me to take one with me. They said there were plenty available. There were also not very many people in the store but as I was leaving more people were starting to show up.

in austin, there isn't even any availability for a demo for the two stores. any other city in texas you can book a demo feb 5-6th

Apple Store in my mall wasn’t busy at all. Nobody was around the Vision Pro demo table. Doesn’t really mean anything, just an observation.

Pretty sure there will be an abundance of these simply because they're the second most expensive item in the Apple Store. Even if they're a hit I doubt many could afford to drop that much on an unproven product.
The US has over 25 million millionaires. And you don’t have to be a millionaire to afford one.

I would reverse the statement: It doesn’t need to be anywhere close to a hit with the general consumer in order to sell out its production capacity.

2nd? They sell many more items above the 4K mark… base price the xdr display or a Mac Pro are more pricey, but many Macs configs are also more expensive then that……

Went last night to check it out. Not too many people around the avp table. Nice build quality. Wanted to demo but first available demo is Sunday morning. They had them in stock. Will wait a couple weeks when I can just walk in to demo.

FWIW - I went in Friday afternoon (2/2) to see if I could get a demo, and they were able to accommodate me after a short wait. 45 mins later I walked out with a 512 AVP and 1.5 reader lenses - with no pre-order.
This was at the Raleigh,NC store.

When I first asked if I'd be able to purchase on the spot, the guy giving me the demo laughed and said, "yea, I think you'll be fine - we have plenty in back".

Good news, the earlier it comes to us if they are swimming in stock.

I was told by an Apple corporate employee at my local Apple Store that orders are “personalized” in the store to save space. So when you place an in store purchase, someone in the back places your seal and band sizes in the box before they seal it up.

I purchased four of them in this manner for my company without issue.

What is your company planning to do with it? Just being curious….

I'm south of Atlanta and none of the stores in Atlanta have any. Can't even choose in store pickup in the future for the 256gb model. Closest stores with stock are Augusta which is too far away for me.

I went back and forth all day yesterday if I was going to pick one up and they were available. The wife said I should get one. I go to purchase it and none available.
