I've used mine for almost 2 hours now and your comparison to an "iPad for your face" is so incorrect.
How is it wrong? I have a VP and agree with him.

1) Vision Pro is about the same weight as 12.9 iPad pro

2) it’s about the same resolution in each eye as an iPad

3) VisionOS is based on iPadOS and in fact google identifies the VisionPro as an iPad in some web apps

4) VisionPro runs iPad apps

5) VisionPro uses a window management framework that is essentially the iPad’s “stage manager” feature, but with an infinite-ish canvas, and non-locked window positioning

VisionPro has many elements in common with an iPad. Yes, they look radically different, but from an engineering, software, UI, and product development perspective I think it’s a great comparison. It really is an iPad strapped to your face with a z-axis and infinite canvas.

Trust me, once you get done dragging windows and apps all over the place (which is so cool), it starts to be a very good comparison.

Eh, by that measure men and women are basically the same, but viva la difference!

The way I use them is fundamentally different, I love my iPads, but my AVP is far superior at using several apps at once. And the windows go where I want them. It’s a totally different immersive experience. Watching movies is totally different. Etc. etc. I do agree in terms of file handling it helps to work off experience gained from an iPad.

On Friday evening I was able to walk into an Apple Store and get a demo appointment after only a 5 minutes wait. The next day I went back and made a walk in purchase.

Out here in LA, offerup is inundated with scalpers trying to get $4500-5500 for them. I was really happy to see apple’s anti scalping strategy working so well.
