I bought an Otter Box Defender for my iPhone 5 last friday and I couldn't be more pleased. All of the buttons work perfectly and there are no issues to date. While the Otter Box might be on the clunky side, it should last for the life of the phone. I had bought several thinner cases for my iPhone 3 and 4 and they all cracked or split within nine months.

That is what I also ordered for my iPhone 5. Also, I got the Zagg invisible shield screen protector. Maybe I am being a bit too protective. Meh...

Well now I need to wait for the iPhone 5 to arrive. I had great luck with Zagg's invisible shield with Otter Box combo for my 1st generation iPad. I just recently got the Otter Box for the iPad after a few years of just using Waterfield's carrying case and Zagg Shield screen protector.

I bought two cases so far, The CaseCrown Lux glider,

That case came today so I'm using it now.

I also ordered a smart case from one of my favorite companies, Waterfield Designs:

Those cases do not ship til October 5th, but I love their products and highly recommend them.

let us know if it still fits in the smart case with the cover as there are 2 smart case versions "with/without" bumper.
