That's a great birthday gift. She'll love it.

I bet you'll quickly find plenty of friends who have the Apple Watch or want to know more about it. Could be a decent icebreaker with the women. :)

Excellent point! Could be a great icebreaker for sure. At first site of the watch pure curiosity could strike up random conversations all the time.

Yup,

Getting 2 x 42mm for my wife and myself.
She can pull the bigger size pretty well, no worries there.

That happened a lot for me with the first gen iPhone. Lots of people had only ever seen them in commercials.

The biggest random conversation starter we ever had was our first gen Chevy Volt. We had one of the first around here and people would immediately start asking about it the minute they saw us. One time, I had a guy open the door for me (my hands were full because I'd just bought ice cream for me and my husband) then he nearly climbed into the driver's seat. His wife was standing nearby with their baby and she reminded him of what he was about to do. LOL.

It was really funny and they were both very nice.

Anyone buying two watches on day one?

LOL!! So true,I remember all the conversations I encountered when I had the first gen iphone. That forum member should really take note of what you said. It'll definitely can't hurt ;)
Great story by the way....

I need to buy a couple

of Apple Watches in all variations. We are selling a docking station for the Apple Watch and need to do the final test with the real one.
Will probably camp in front of a store,ha, ha

Possibly :). I have one friend who is buying one, but we're not that close. My close friends think it's cool, but not cool enough to buy one

Got it! You've got me thinking maybe I should get the soft pink modern buckle for he. Hhmmm.... I think she might like the idea of the black leather going with everything she wears. Choices choices... Lol

Getting a space black stainless steel and space gray sport, both for myself. One for work and one for casual.

You might want to reconsider that.

Apple also seemed to miss an opportunity off the bat of making it easy for people to purchase several Apple Watches and use them together for one synchronized experience. Each Apple Watch is paired to your iPhone (which is where you download apps and control some of its functions). Each iPhone can only be paired with one Apple Watch at a time - which means you can't have an Apple Watch Sport for exercise and an Apple Watch on a steel bracelet for more formal attire. Apple says people should just swap out straps, but I think they are missing the real value of having a diverse set of fashionable products. Anyone who loves watches doesn't just have one, and I truly hope that in due course, Apple makes it comfortable to own more than one Apple Watch without having to own more than one iPhone.

After Training People To Forget About Watches, How Will Apple Teach Them To Love The Apple Watch?

This is the first I've heard of this. This better be a damn mistake. I can't imagine Apple saying, "No... we don't wanna sell more watches. Only let them have one each." No way.

Nonetheless, this would be easily remedied with a software update as soon as people start complaining.

I bet that this changes over time, particularly in time for gen 2 to come out. I suspect there could be plenty of people who buy the sport watch now that may go to the SS for gen 2 and want to be able to keep using the gen 1 sport for sports and rougher settings than they will want to use their more expensive SS version.

Corollary to that, who the hell wants to workout in their $10,000 Apple Watch Edition?! They need 2.

I believe that the Apple Watch app will retain the settings/configurations of multiple watches, you'll just have to repair a watch each time you make a swap.
