Besides the battery you also forgot to mention that the iPhone 6s clearly blows Samsung out of the freaking water for single core performance. And of course single core is all that matters.

Well that could be but if your referring to benchmark tests and all that I don't really use those I measure it with real world performance and if you ask me there both really fast and in all the years i've been using Samsung phones I've never had this extreme slow down that some of you are talking about. In fact my sister still has a note 3 that run's pretty good. I mean of course it doesn't run as fast as the latest phones but that generation iPhone certainly wouldn't either.

There is one thing I would like to ask if anyone has any input on this.. One thing that I really enjoyed on the iPhone was iMovie to edit little YouTube videos. So far I have yet to find anything nearly as good for Android. If anyone has any recommendations I would be extremely happy.

Note 5 here and now 6s plus. Note 5 has an amazing screen and probably a little better camera imho, but that's about it. Design was nice, but touch wiz isn't great and you still get bits of lag and hiccups here and there. The OS overall isn't as smooth as iOS. Oh and battery already looks better on the 6s+.

Note 4 to 6s plus here. No regrets. Phone slowed down after a while and started to chew the battery up and got hot. Even after a reset. Common issues with the galaxy line.

i'm not really coming from the S6 or N5, but have both platforms coinciding with each other. well, an S4, N3, S6e, N5, 5s and now 6s+. but the N5 and 6s+ are my main two...

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1443407785.870924.jpg

there's a lot to like about the 6s+, but there's just much more i love about the N5. a lot of my points will be between either the 6s+ and/or iOS or the N5 and/or Android. i like how every app i download, it gives me the option to allow the app access to whatever other app right away rather than the Android way where you have to accept before you can even download to install. basically, i can control each app as i go. i also love how there are many of apps that integrate Touch ID when accessing them. even Google apps. i don't understand why Google hasn't allowed this for the S6e or N5 on their own Android platform.

it still bugs me how much slower (or more steps it takes to do something) on the 6s+ than it is on the N5. so regardless of hardware specs (or how much more optimised iOS is with their hardware), the nature of operation on iOS can bug the heck out of me from time to time. this is especially an annoyance when i'm multitasking with at least several apps and are deep into them. and even after iOS 9 bringing multiwindows, it's still not available to the Pluses???

notifications could be better for iOS, and the control center can definitely be much better like allowing it to be customisable. argh!

Android is a heavier OS copared to iOS especially if you like to customise. so, that can drag things down depending on. on how heavy you customise things especially with a Maker's added UI skin. i tend to keep my customisations minimal. i personally run Package Disabler Pro (disables packages from running in the background) alongside Greenify (hibernates apps you don't need running in the background till you actually use them) all without having to root. this helps with fluidity of navigating around the OS and of course with ScreenOn Times. even with all that done, i think my 6s+ SOTs is as at least equal to my N5's if not better. probably better. it's only been 3 days and i've mostly been playing with the 6s+.

screen quality goes to the N5 all the way. it's night and day in comparison. sometimes i feel like i'm looking at the quality of a thumbnail version of an image (not thumbnail size, but quality). basically, it's just not as sharp and detailed as what you can see on the N5 even with the bump in PPI with the new 6s+.

the speaker sounds better on the N5, but the audio quality from the headphone jack on the N5 is amazingly awesome! that Wolfson digital audio converter hardware it's using makes even the plain old included earbud set sound like they were a bigger headphone set with bigger drivers. bring your earbuds to a store and just listen for yourself.

for connectivity, i seem to have faster download speeds on the N5 over LTE, but the 6s+ definitely has much faster speeds over Wi-Fi.

there's a bunch of niggles, but those are the ones i remembered to rant about. haha

I got the note 5 and tried it a couple weeks before returning it because I heard they skimmed down touchwiz. A few things:

The bloat is real:
I immediately installed package disabler because I noticed I was getting sub par battery and also know Verizon is known for all the bloat they are notorious for. 160 apps disabled! That is ridiculous and you can't take this crap off unless you root and even then Knox is triggered and lose your warranty.

Laggy and stutters:
I noticed the stock keyboard would stutter which was another reason I used package disabler. Kind of ridiculous the stock keyboard would lag. I also compared to my friends note 5 and it was the same so I knew my unit wasn't defective it was just what most Samsung users expected as a norm when using the device. Scrolling in hangouts would lag and many other apps.

Android apps aren't as polished:
One thing I really enjoyed coming an iPhone 6 was the quality of apps on the App Store. For example on the Starbucks app they have an option to order ahead of time before you get there so you can bypass the line and just pick up your drink. This feature not available on the android Starbucks app. Podcast apps are also really bad coming from the stock podcast app on the iPhone.

Headphone in line controls:
I listen to audiobooks and podcasts all the time and find the double tap hold to rewind by seconds or triple tap hold to rewind by seconds very useful on iPhones. Android does not have these features. The best you can do is install a 3rd party app but it's not as integrated as it is in iOS.

S-voice is bad:
I really like Google now and Siri when it comes to texting and dictating. Or even basic search functions on google but s-voice is really bad and I'm surprised it was so bad it should just be removed from the device so the user could rely solely on Google now. With the always on feature of the new 6s it's pretty much a no brainer Siri wins in this department. One should note the nexus has the always on Google now but I miss a few things about Siri like when she repeats my text before sending when using headphones.

Positives about the note 5:
Screen quality is great on the note 5. The best I have seen. Camera was about the same maybe better if you prefer over saturated photos. But these positives weren't enough to make me forget about the stutters, lack of in line controls, ugly UI and bloat.

Anyone has problems migrating data from an Android phone to an iPhone? Your contacts, Chrome bookmarks, Whatsapp and Wechat messages etc.

This was one reason I stayed on iOS. iMovie blows out of the water any android video editor. I did try Kinemaster pro on android but the free version has a watermark on your videos unless you pay like $30/year to remove them. I found that it wasn't as polished as iMovie though. You might be able to check out the GoPro video editing software. I have heard that it is free to download or free to use. I haven't personally checked into it, but it might be another option for you.

I have the S6 Edge+ and the iPhone 6s Plus. The S6 Edge+ has the better screen, hands down.

But... that's where it ends, to be honest. I hate the curved screen. It's impossible to hold, and I'm constantly hitting the back button and the multitasking button due to the phone having basically ZERO bezel. There's literally nowhere you can put your fingers without either accidentally locking it, turning up/down the volume, opening the "edge" menu on accident, or accidentally hitting the back or multitask buttons. It's really stupid. If you get an S6, don't get the edge. I can't even get the stupid "edge info" to show up when the screen is off. I swipe my finger across it 10+ times before it finally shows up. Talk about a gimmick.

Slowness. Even the first hour of use, the S6 Edge+ already had lag. Not huge lag. Just stutters here and there. I'd open facebook app, start scrolling through the feed at a quick rate, and it would stutter. I'd open facebook on my iPhone, swipe as fast as I could, and it was completely fluid with zero lag/stuttering. How is an 8-core CPU with 4 GB of ram stuttering on something as simple as a facebook news feed!? It also occasionally lags when I tap an icon to open an app. Sometimes it's instant. Other times, it's as if I never touched the icon, then a second later, the app opens. It's weird. When it's not having the lag/stuttering, it's pretty damn fast, but if it's like the other android phones I've owned in the past, that will change after a month or two of normal use. The 4GB of ram won't mean ****.

I disagree about the S6 having a much better camera. I took a bunch of pictures today with both phones. At the time of taking them, the S6 appeared to be taking way better pictures, but you know what it was? I was viewing the pictures on teh much better screen on the S6. Once I got home and loaded both sets of pictures onto my 4k monitors, I noticed they were pretty much even. iPhone had more natural colors. S6 was a little oversaturated. S6 was better at portraits and macro shots due to its aggressive sharpening. The S6 wasn't great at a busy scene because the aggressive sharpening turned the details into noise. The iPhone was better at that. These aren't black and white comparisons though. They were honestly REALLY close. Each had their strong-points. iPhone seemed to be quicker to take the pictures, but the Samsung has better options available for manual settings.

Oh, and another thing that nobody mentions: the Samsung phones can only record 5 minutes of 4k video MAX. The iPhone is only limited by the amount of storage. If you have the 128GB iPhone 6s / 6s plus, you can record a really long 4k video. I think the iPhone 6s / 6s plus is the only smartphone on the market that can record unlimited 4k video as far as I know. (correct me if I'm wrong)

They each have their pros and cons, but for me, the iPhone wins out. I love the fluidness of iOS. I love the higher quality apps on the app store. I love the intuitive UI layout that seems to always be a tap or two quicker than the same actions on the android phones. Especially now that 3D touch is added, I'm flying around that UI.

Well, I have a Note 5 , really like it ...but would like to get a 6s Plus and try it.
I have AT&T, with 3 lines for my kids with 6's and my Note 5, on a 4th line.
I'd like to get the 6s Plus on Apples upgrade program, and just switch sim cards with my Note 5.
AT&T Tech has told me each time I switch phones, I'll have to call Cust Sup each time to switch data plans.
Otherwise the data won't work properly.
AT&T Stores say not to worry it will work fine.
I've called Tech Sup 3-4 times and they've said the same thing each time...
Confused what to do????

I am currently swapping my sim card between my Note 5 and iPhone 6S Plus with no issue at all.

I've done this with several different phones and have never needed to call customer service for a change.

are yours both ATT?

my T-Mo 6s+ (not domestically unlocked yet) only accepts my MetroPCS SIM, and not my Verizon or Sprint SIMs. no LTE on my Straight Talk SIM.

I'm specifically referring to at&t-branded phones. I have an at&t-branded Note 5, and an at&t-locked iPhone 6S+, swapping my at&t sim card between the two with no changes to my plan at all.

Honestly, the only thing that might require a call into them would be visual voicemail, possibly tethering, or some feature like that, where they may need to properly provision the device on their end.

I believe your phone will accept a MetroPCS sim card because they use T-Mo's network, so the phones/sims are likely interchangeable.

I agree with all the points you've made but 2 in particular you really hit the nail on the head. Bloat and app quality. I also used the package disable on my S6 and disabled 127 apps/services. Thats crazy that Android has that much going on in the background. I'm so glad Apple doesnt allow any carrier bloatware or logos on their phones.

Android apps are nowhere near as polished as iOS. yes they have many of the same apps but its usually missing some sort of functionality that the iOS version has and it doesn't seem as well made. I'm not bashing Android, the S6 has many pros, screen, camera, and i really liked the ability to download torrents straight to my phone. But overall iOS its just better (for me). maybe I'll go back to android at some point but right now im enjoying the being back on iOS.

As someone who just transitioned from Android, I pretty much agree, but I'd add the Moto X.

The others, though, especially Samsung and LG? Garbage. I refuse to touch them.
I've heard good things about the Moto X. Wish I knew someone with it so I could play around with it. Unfortunately when people want an Android they go for Samsung. Moto, HTC and Nexus devices aren't even on their radar.
I just really hate Samsungs 'throw everything at the wall and see what sticks' mentality. They really put quantity over quality and iOS is the exact opposite.

I agree with your statement about Samsung's approach. If I were to switch back to Android, it would be a Moto X. With that being said, I still considered waiting for the Moto X but I ended up just sticking with the 6+ and iOS. Sometimes simplicity is better and in this case, it's true for iOS.

My observation with smartphones in general is that we primarily get them to use apps and taking pictures. And that's why iOS wins.

That's why the Moto X is such a fantastic phone. Rather than jamming it full of features that no one really cares about, its added features are few and useful. It runs Android so well.

If I go back to Android, I'll likely only consider a Moto X or a Nexus unless serious changes start happening with the other OEMs and their branded phones.

I am just gave up my note 5 and I do like my nite 5 a lot but thee 6s+ is a very worthy upgrade ad I'm loving it

My iPhone 6s plus will be here tomorrow. But I am wondering if my new 6s will be able to do this on my S6? Tons of customization options.

You might want to stay with android if these are your concerns.
I am keeping both because I am sure I will be bored with iOS after a couple months. Had iphone 4 and 5 in the past.
Android is fun to customize while iOS is smooth.

The jailbreak will be soon I think. You'll be able to do that and a lot more with the 3d touch.

Wait, you're telling me the longest 4k video you can take on a Samsung s6 is 5 minutes? Is this for the s6 and note 5? If that's true wow that's unfortunate.

Right. And, my 6+ ran smoother than my Note 4. I see a pattern here.

That has been my experience with both the Note 3 and Note 4. They start out great, but get slower and slower with lag. The camera on my Note 4 lagged so bad, I'd often miss the shot. God forbid you would want to look at it right after you took it. Not to mention bluetooth stutter/skipping during streaming music playback with the head units on various vehicles. So, enjoy the honeymoon, it will be over soon enough!

if you're willing to jailbreak an iPhone, then maybe rooting is an option. otherwise, disregard the following:

for the N5: http://www.phonearena.com/news/How-...-video-recording-on-your-Galaxy-Note5_id73220

and depending on how serious you're going to get with 4K (or just with video in general), there's this: http://www.bmcuser.com/showthread.php?14851-4K-at-200Mbps-on-Smartphone

the flat profile is awesome for colour grading.

but i personally wouldn't run 4K for too long when these phones weren't designed to do so. that's some serious heat. the a7s couldn't even do internal 4K (not even in crop-mode), and needed the Shogun external recorder. they didn't finally allow any internal 4K till the larger a7s ii body (and a7r ii, first). when the GH4 allowed internal 4K (of course a lower bitrate than external output), that was a larger body with a smaller M43 sensor.

I've come from a S6

IMO the S6 wins with its camera and screen but falls short with battery life. I had to shut so much off to last a day it just wasn't worth it and yes I followed all the guides.

My 6s battery, whilst only having it since Friday, seems much better. I had a 11 hour work day yesterday with all emails syncing, calls and texts and made it home with 60% remaining - a lot more reassuring if I know I'm not going to be near a charger for sure!
