I am ordering mine on Halloween day 40% off (code: scary40)

I had the IS on my MB Air, very happy with it. I had to replace a piece (my own fault). They ship the whole set for free (even free shipping and I'm in Canada), I just had to return the removed piece with the unused pieces.

I saw the pictures you posted of your previous MBP and you did an awesome job. Part of me wants to try BSE but part of me is scared I'll screw everything up. Please post pics of your Aluminum Macbook when you do it. That may help me decide. Thanks

Aww, thanks. I got the BSE yesterday, but I'm hesitating in putting it on because the SuperDrive on my MB is acting up. I'm afraid something will happen and I'll have to exchange it. Then I'll have to pay for another BSE and installation.

I'll probably take the MB into the Apple Store tomorrow.

To the person who said they installed a BSE on the Aluminum MacBook, post up some pics. :D

i have actually got the it covered today... my opinion is that after applying the Bodyguardz the whole aluminum feeling is gone!!! it feels really plastic now, and it doesn't feel nice..

so it's really your call whether you want protection or comfort.

note: i didn't install the Bodyguardz to my trackpad, didn't want to lose the glass feeling of my trackpad.. :)

Installed BSE on my alum macbook. Was not hard to install at all. Granted, this is not the first time I've done it so I'm quite used to putting these type of proctectors on.

Hey guys, any pics. Would really love to see the coverage of the BSE vs. the BG. Does the BSE have the protection around the sides that the BG does?

I have invisibleshield for my MBP and i think its great.....it does give your laptop a glossy shine but is that really a big deal? Still looks like aluminum. At the very least I would get the piece for the palm rests if I were you guys.

This is the Bestskinsever $29.99

It came with extra strips, I don't know why, they do not cover the edges.

There are 3 skins, one on trackpad,1 to the left, and one to the right.

The 4 black 'legs' on the bottom are not covered, neither are the screws. The lever to release to take the cover off is covered by a small skin.

to the person that asked if there are any issues closing the screen, i don't know yet. I am letting it 'cure' for at least three days. I've used BSE several times in the past and letting it fully cure is key, otherwise it will be a dust magnet. If it is a problem I will remove it from the trackpad, wrist area.
Again, the skin gave it a cheap plastic shine and the aluminum looks much better bare but I'm leaving it on.

those extras are for the sides, usb port, cd and back of your macbook(just underneath the screen).. i put my bodyguardz and used it 2 hours later after applied.. :)

...Over the river and through the woods, to grandmother's house we go...

I see this 'covers' the same as using plastic cover over your furniture. On iPods and iPhones (as well as with other mobile devices) its OK since you drop them and go thru a rougher life, a nice case and proper care is the way to go on laptops. Just my 2 cents.

Victor

LOL. I was thinking the VERY same thing!

Hoorah for plastic furniture slip covers, grandma! :D

<squeak, squeak! Are my thighs sticking again?!>

I think that the invisible SHIELD is best out of the 3 and if you ever end up damaging the invisibleSHIELD in any way, you can get a free replacement under the lifetime warranty. !

Yes, but you have to pay for shipping the old one back to them and also shipping on the new one. You can get 2 best skins ever for the price of 1 Invisible Shield without having to pay for the shipping costs. Also, I don't think anyone will ever need more than 1 shield, no matter the brand. I've never had any issues with either BSE or IS that would require a replacement.

I've used both, and the BSE is a better value. The only real benefit to IS is the spray they give you, which I always run out of anyway, since the bottle is miniscule.

Sorry, but you're hardly an unbiased opinion since you work for IS.

I'm a big fan of BSE but it seems like the BSE and IS have more shine and are less clear than the BodyGuardz, and that the BG is also nice that it comes with the strips for the sides and front.

Looks like the consensus is the BodyGuardz for the MacBook though it is more $$ than the BSE.

They don't need the solution back when returning. So you can fold up the pieces into a small flat envelop and send it like letter mail. Anyone can afford a couple bucks of postage.

Also, I disagree that people won't need more than one set of replacement. Ask anyone that put on one of these for the first time, it's really easy to mess up. I messed up my first one, and I am on my second one now. I am also glad that I have the peace of mind that if I ever need it again, I'll be covered. (Who knows, screen replacement may be?)

By the way, for the trackpad area, BSE gives you 2 rectangular pieces (one on each side of the trackpad). IS gives you one continuous piece that goes all around the trackpad, which looks much better IMO.

If you order IS today (halloween) and you'll get 40% off (already free shipping).

The trackpad/palmrest being 1 piece was one of the reasons I initially chose the BSE over the IS when I had my macbook pro. That's disappointing it's 2 pieces now. I am going to order an IS with the discount, as that makes them comparable price-wise and I'd prefer the 1 piece.

Just wanted to put it out there that BSE has great customer service and has sent me replacements free of charge a couple of times. They've been good to me, in case anyone was thinking about ordering from them. You'll probably be fine with either company. I've ordered from both (usually when IS is having a sale), IS is just usually way more expensive for not much difference.

I've generally found BSE to ship faster than IS as well. I will see how long this order I just placed takes.

I have two questions as I will be receiving a black macbook.

a) IS - If let's say I screw it up while installing it, can I return it and get a new one?

b) IS - If I screw up when I stick it wrongly, then I remove it then I try to stick back. Will it stick back?

Thanks :D Look forward to get the Halloween discount.

UPDATE: GOT MY ANSWERS IN https://www.zagg.com/support/faq.php#g

b) IS - If I screw up when I stick it wrongly, then I remove it then I try to stick back. Will it stick back?

a) I don't think they specifically state their warranty covers user installation error. I asked nicely, and they replaced it. But they do suggest removal of the IS whenever you send your equipment in for service, so they do replace films not due to their fault (manufacturer's defects).

b) These IS are not stickers, at least not when wetted during installation. You can re-position and freely move it around. However, once it's dried, it sticks very strongly. Removal would stretch the film to the point that it won't look good for re-application.

Usually the common problems in installation are: large piece or dust or lint that got in, mis-alignment, not enough solution used (making it too sticky to handle and end up stretching it) or too much solution (bubbles of solution that takes forever to dry).

hmm but BSE doesnt state in their website it's lifetime guarantee...is it?

There is no free shipping with IS if you use the 40% code. With shipping it comes to about $42. You save about $15 off total because of the sell. I'm still debating about buying one for my Blackbook.

These are a total waste of money.

How you seen one in person? Pictures are alright, but seeing one in real life is better. Do they look and feel bad in real life? I like mine on my iPod touch (BSE on mine is nice--highly recommend it), but I just don't know how they would be on my Macbook.

I use InvisibleShield for my iPhone and used it for my older MBP.

Unfortunately, I'm one of those people that are bothered by scratches on my toys. So for me this stuff is one of the coolest things ever. I really protects the device from scratches. Plus when I'm going to sell my stuff it still looks like it's new. I just sold my old MBP and have the InvisibleShield already on the way for the new one.

And i was a customer first so i can give my opinion, besides dont you think you would get the real answer out of me because i work here? who better to have an opinion and an answer than someone who not only buys from them but works for them and knows the troubleshooting?

I agree as long as everyone is aware (as they are) that you are biased due to working for that company.

I have used both the IS and the BSE and they are pretty much the same, but BSE is much cheaper. You can make the solution out of liquid soap and water. Both are good though.

I had one on my BlackBook. I would have preferred to use it nude, because I didn't love the glossy look or fingerprints the BSE attracted, but I can't say enough to how it protected my Macbook. It looked brand new when I recently sold it.

I just ordered one for my aluminum macbook, so I guess that says enough about how I feel about them.

I ordered mine this morning, $54.95 - 40% = 32.97 (Total). Definitely free shipping in my case.

They must not like me then because I went through the whole process and it took off the 40% when I put the code in, but then added the $8 plus some cents for standard shipping. When I didn't put the code in it automatically gave me free shipping. Oh well, I decided against it anyways.

Oh I tried this on both the new Macbook ones and last gen ones.
